Food for Every one
Explain your idea in details:
My aim is no individual go to bed with empty stomach. India is an agricultural state because more than half of the population are into the agriculture activities even though the country ranks103rd position in the Global Hunger Index. This shows the country is facing serious threat in food security and increase in the food prices so this can be costly for people in poverty. We also see food waste because of poor storage facilities and supply chain management. On seeing this I got an Idea to start investment in agriculture field to achieve food security and improve storage facilities, supply chain management. On investing in agriculture we can produce different crops other than routine food crops this can be affordable to poor people also. By investing on this there will be an increase in employment opportunities to the rural people and we can achieve Poverty and Zero Hunger Goals in SDG. This helps farmers economically and can reduce food wastage by developing storage facilities,Supply Management. Iam sure this Idea will be a great success in achieving Sustainable Development Goals because we are producing more than what we want and with good supply chain management, reducing food waste. Im proud of my nation it is taking steps to achieve Sustainable Development Goals by initiating schemes like Antyodaya anna rozgar yojana,Midday Meal. Food security act aims to provide food grains in subsidized prices this helps people in below poverty line. Thanks to Youth Citizen Entrepreneur Competition giving me this opportunity.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
Today, the world is facing serious threat in food deficit so this idea helps to achieve food surplus. This helps those farmers who can't cultivate their land because of financial problems. This also helps to improve employment opportunities to the rural population and their financial status. It improves in gender equality. We can achieve majority of the goals in Sustainable Development Goals because it helps to cut the root of the problems that is Hunger. When Zero Hunger is achieved their won't be Poverty, increase in the employment opportunities, Gender equality, Quality Education to the next generation, and many more. Majority of the Population lives in the rural areas if there financial status is improved it leads to Nation Development. I strongly believe this helps in achieving Zero Hunger and have great impact on SDG.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
I have designed a procedure to achieve Zero Hunger. Step 1 Contract Farming or Helping the farmer financially. Step 2 Procurement of Quality seeds and inputs which helps in surplus production. Step 3 Infrastructure Development like Storage facilities and Supply chain management which helps in reduction in Food Wastage and Improves in Employment opportunities.By following all the three steps we can achieve our goals.
My name is Shiva Raj I am 24. I am from Telangana, India. I graduated in Computer Science Engineering from Sri Indu Engineering and Technology. I have seen the farmers commit suicide when the crops fail due to floods or dry season. I felt sad when farmer suicide if we support him financially he may not take that step losing his life. This motivates me to have an idea of investing in agriculture.
