Explain your idea in details:
Brazil is South America's largest country, with a coast line of 5000 miles and a vast and dense hydrographic net with many of its rivers notable for their great biodiversity. The vast majority of fisherman in Brazil are small-scale who depend on Brazils natural bounty for income. Despite existing area-based fisheries management that provides preferential access to traditional fishing communities, the communities lack confidence in their abilities to sustainably manage their fisheries. The Fishly project have the objective to connect those small fisherman to consumers on a app that integrates, virtual market and delivery logistics. The FISHLY application connects consumers or restaurants to fishermen or fishing cooperatives in a virtual fair updated in real time. The delivery logistic connects the sellers to independent transporters. That is, the consumer can consult the fish products near them, check in real time what is fresh, proper, sustainable and when buying evaluate the product. "Fishly" creates a cooperative network without the need for logistic intermediaries and brokers in the consumer and fisher relationship. The fisherman makes the inventory of his fishing products of the day, where he wants to deliver and the estimate of price - kilo. The Fishly system compiles the data, sorts and offers the in-app products just like a trade market. The price will be determined by supply and demand (dynamic price). Consumers can search by species, location or freshness for the fish they want to buy. A feed on the app first page keeps all the region's fisheries updated. The delivery can be done by the fisherman cooperative or by delivery services integrated to the application, connecting with independent transportation.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
Stimulate commercial relationship between consumers on big coast cities and small fishing communities adjacent. Measure and manage the unreported catch from small-scale fisheries. "You can't manage what you don't measure". Drive the adoption of environmental stewardship and new social norms on fishing communities. Promote social and economic development of coastal fishing communities. Provide better, safer and nature-friendly seafood option for consumers on coastal cities. The project's differential is that fishly has as its central pillar the promotion of small-scale fisherman and the sustainable development of small-scale fishing activity. The sustainability of the project will be achieved by reversing part of the company's profit in investment in the fishing communities. With training, equipment and research .
Plans for implementation and sustainability
Although there are some applications with similar objectives, deliver seafood directly to the consumer, such as sea2table, the idea was never implemented in Brazil. The project's differential is that fishly has as its central pillar the promotion of small-scale fisherman and the sustainable development of small-scale fishing activity. The sustainability of the project will be achieved by reversing part of the company's profit in investment in the fishing communities. With training, equipment and research. Busness Model Fishly Is an aggregator business, runs on a three-fold customers strategy. Just Like uber eats for exemple. The consumers as well as the seafood providers and transportation acts as the customers of the company. Quality To provide a standardized quality to every user, Fishly make sure that the partners provide quality product with information of freshness and provenience. Also will have teams in the field to inspect partners and make sure quality is maintained. Contract A contract is signed between Fishly app, fisherman and transportation. All the terms are cleared. The terms provide a win-win situation for both the parties where the partners focus on providing quality product/service to the customers and Fishly focus on marketing and creating more leads for the partners. Implementation The implementation of the technology with fisherman and transporters will be done through partnerships with associations of artisanal fishermen, national and international NGOs (RARE, Instituto Linha D'Água), governmental institutes (Instituto Pesca, ICMbio, Ministry of Environment) Consumers in cities will be engaged in a marketing campaign using internet campaigns, radio, billboards, and television. The launch of the beta version of the application will be carried out in two Brazilian coastal cities with greater access to the Internet: Vitória (68.41% internet access) and Florianópolis (67.67% internet access) Price and sustainability The price of the final product for the consumer will be lower than that practiced in the
