Organic eggs mini youth farm
Explain your idea in details:
The main objective is to establish an mini youth farm which will ensure production of 2700 eggs monthly. Activities: - adaptation of an existing object - setting up a mobile fence (covered by the net from above) around the area where the hennies will spend daytime - procurement of 100 (hundred ) chickens from a certified farm - register a legal entity (a firm) and apply for organic production certificate (1-year long process) - establish free promotion online platforms (facebook, youtube and instagram) to ensure the visibility of products
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
This idea of producing organic eggs targets youth and young parents who seek organic eggs for their households. Tools of measuring and evaluating success include: - number of chickens bought - projected numerical value of eggs produced on daily, monthly and annual basis - factual number of eggs produced on daily, monthly and annual basis - number of eggs and dozens of eggs sold on weekly, monthly and annual basis - Quarter of the year financial report (every 3 months) - Organic production certificate
Plans for implementation and sustainability
This idea relies on a sustainable business model which ensures profit and promotes self-employment among youth, as well as promoting responsible consumption and production of the goods. With help of local administration, I expect technical help (department of agriculture of the municipality of Nevesinje) and financial support in terms of resources needed for adaptation of the existing object, which has a capacity to host approx.300 hennies.
