"Project 132" ( training -competitions for children // unity can solve many problems)
Explain your idea in details:
It is a motivational and skill development project aimed at uplifting the morale of the under privileged children by applying Training and Competition model. India is a highly populated country and there have always been challenges in achieving overall development. The project targets at turning one such weaknesses into opportunity and establishing it as instrument(s) for the country's development. It plans to draw its resources through contributions of small amount of money from the larger sections of the society. Funding would be generated by collecting a reasonable amount of 132 Rs a year, per individual [they will be called joined members (JMs)]. The fund would be collected yearly once through banks. This self-established charitable organization would conduct Training and Competition programs to government high school students. It would also create employment (the trainers would get basic wages essential for livelihood). The fund will be used to train students in academically oriented skills, sports and arts. This will improve physical and mental health, inculcate group work, develop self-confidence, and lift competitive spirit in them. Training will initially start with selected 5 schools at district level, with 3 trainers at each school. The program will be conducted in the morning (6am -9am) and evening (3.30pm 5:00 pm). First round of school competitions will be conducted between 15th July to 15th August (Independence day) and 2nd round of inter-school competitions on 14th November (childrens day) every year. The sports competition winners will be imparted intensive training which will be conducted during summer holidays in the month of May. With increasing number of joined members (JM), more number of sports and arts would be introduced and the project would outstretch to other schools.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
Every child spends 5 years to finish high school education. During this significant period of teen age, we will be focusing on skill development training with the help of Project 132. Each child will have to select one of the 3 fields from sports, arts, and academically oriented skills along with school education . The dedicated team of trainers will work for children and in return earn a livelihood. We need to reach 50,000 JMs yearly (except for first year). The project can be started with 10, 000 joined members (JMs). (For example: If we have 50000 JMs who had donated 132 rupees through bank, Project 132 will have total of Rs 66,00,000/- . This amount will be divided into two parts- One part for future and other part for present working year). Next year, along with the existing JMs and their contribution of Rs. 132/-, contributions from the new 50000 JMs will add to the fund which will aid in outreaching more schools. One part of the fund will always remain as security deposit. For long sustainable result, this project would need acceptance from the local government. The trainers would train the children under the vigilant eyes of one of the school teachers. A strict action would be taken against the erring trainer(s). During the first year, training will be given to the students in selected areas of sports, for example Badminton. Gradually, more varieties of sports and arts would be added for the students to select from the list. Only 3 to 5 schools would be selected for the first year. Next year project must target 10 to 12 schools in a particular district for providing the training program. With this small step, one day, we can reach all underprivileged in our society.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
The project needs to be registered as a non-profitable charitable organization and established as an NGO with a direct bank account in the name of Project 132. This project is committed to provide training and in turn create employment. So the organisation will need lot of money towards monthly expenditures. As mentioned earlier, all the transactions would be through the banks only. The project name it self says the way of funding[132 yearly], with extension example: 1)- From the first part of Rs. 33, 00,000/- allocated for current working year: One part to be spent on 30 days summer camp on sports children selected from a district. From this part, Rs 4, 00,000/- approximately will be used for transport, food and maintenance. Second part of money, approximately Rs. 90,000/- to be spent on sports equipment, first-aid medical kits, and conducting competitions.Balance three parts of money, approximately Rs. 28, 10,000/- will be equally divided for 11 months. This has to be again divided systematically for monthly salaries of teams working in different schools, administrative staff, office maintenance, and most importantly good nutritious breakfast and evening snacks for children, for 11 months, at district level. Later on it is stretched to other districts and states in the country. 2)-2nd part of security deposit will be divided into two one deposit for future and second part for extension in present working year if any occur. With increasing number of JM's training -administrative staff will be add specific works. Every year we need to add minimum 50, 000 JMs. The project has to collaborate with IT companies and government employees to get more number of joined members (JMs) so that project can have effective and long sustainability.
I am sreevani shiva shenkar (31 years old) I, personally being sensitive, in urge to know the human mind and behaviour, took a degree in psychology. The psychology subject introduced me understand how external things will influence human stress levels. With family encouragement served as strength for me to think more creatively. Ancient Indian history literature is avid with instances showing women safety, low crime rate and several other supreme qualities of life. Many historians, example Marco Polo, have also written about the ancient ways of life. They also mentioned that Indians had established handloom industry, architecture and fine arts etc. These are all varieties of employment and skill training programs in modern ways, to say. They kept themselves surrounded with activities that kept them busy and contributed to high GDP rate at that time. This inspired me to react to the need of the hour. Having seen my mother, both as a government school teacher and as a mother, then she helped me to understand the needs of underprivileged and the innovative ideas that inspire them. They are a bundle of talent, enthusiasm, and energy awaiting to be steered in right direction. This Project 132 wishes to work for underprivileged children by providing training in various skills. It can erase social and economic barriers in future generations. This project is my dream and it is in conceptual stage, needs to be perfect recruitment and perfect administration. We can employ hundreds of people to change the lives of thousands of future generations.
