The Main objectives is to enhance the intake of micronutrient, health outcomes in all children born around the world and decreasing physical, mental and social problems for all children. The goal is to educate all caretakers of the children on child nutrition and how sufficient nutrition intake can be achieved for the child. This will be achieved through the nutritious edible pacifier, that will come in white and cream white colors only, as a differentiation strategy. Also, through a child dietary plan that will be part of the pacifier package. This plan will introduce the concept of nutrition and child nutrition, then explaining essential vitamins and minerals for children and the recommended intake of the vitamin and mineral per day. Followed by recommend balanced meals that can be prepared for the child, for breakfast, lunch and supper.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
The edible pacifier will pride itself in a bio plastic, placed inside the pacifier holder made out of corn starch material, should the baby not finish the pacifier and all will be attached to a recyclable cardboard as packaging to ensure the resources of now are preserved the children of tomorrow. While the nutrients in the pacifier will ensure that the children today thrive to see the sustainable future that we would have built for them from now. To ensure the successful attainment of sustainable development through the edible pacifier and dietary plan, they will be measured against the results they have produced interms of the health outcomes, the value created within the health industry, accessibility and worth. This product is designed for parents, mothers or guardians who are nutrition-conscious, Mothers who do not produce enough milk for the baby, who do not exclusively breastfeed and who take medication or undergo a medical treatment that is not safe during breastfeeding. Also, fathers who are often with the baby in the absence of the mother. Therefore, this product will positively impact on all children along with mothers, fathers and guardians across the globe, sustainability being no exception.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
The business model will be based on value creation for clients through including the nutritional dietary plan with additional fun activities included in the plan, while making money from the sale of the edible pacifiers which will come in a pack of different amounts of pacifiers in one pack. Also, promoting sustainability through the elements used in packaging and engaging CSR activities as the business grows and promoting sustainability in our platforms. Affiliations will be made with hospitals, pharmacies and various retailers, to ensure that the product is accessible anywhere. Also, there will be an online platform where the pacifier can be bought. Marketing strategies to be used will be emotive appeals, customer involvement seasonally, vouchers for online shoppers on our website, seasonal sales and competitions. There will be a live chat for customers on any questions about child nutrition they may have as well as customer service hotlines for product issues or questions or recommendations. Also, there will be an interactive board for signed members where they can interact with other mothers, fathers or guardians about nutrition, making eating healthy more fun for the mum and the child. I am a 21 year old lady from klerksdorp, northwest province, South Africa. I come from a family of 5, where both my parents are teachers. I went to laerskool primary school in Delareyville then followed by Klerksdorp Technical high school, for my high school years. During my high school, I served the the school through being an RCL in grade 9, where I was part of the marketing team and my entrepreneurial journey began from then, after realising how much I was interested in fund raising activities. I further equipped my entrepreneurial journey as I did public speaking every year and got awarded school honours for best public speaker. I also was quite exceptional in my academics, where I was top 3 in my matric year awards. I then became a prefect in grade 12, where I was part of the academic committee. My dominant hobby was music, I was part of the northwest music school, musicon. Where I started off being part of the junior orchestra then moved to senior orchestra after several months of violin practice. I received distinctions every year for music theory and achieved merit (83%) in violin music performance. I am currently a second year student, studying towards a bachelor of Accounting at the university of Johannesburg. I aim to refine my entrepreneurial skills through this career, through equipping myself with the necessary financial and managerial skills. I am also part of the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation, an entrepreneurial program, where I am paving my entrepreneurial journey with essential knowledge and skills. I view myself daily as an influencer, game changer and a high impactful leader, because I believe, it is through a thought that you can attain what you want and to the limits you see yourself, is where you will be.
