Burundi electrical-watering dry-season farming
Explain your idea in details:
Main Objectives: -build sustainable agriculture supply chain -increase production and change living standards -eliminate all forms of malnutrition -create an almost inexhaustible adaptable energy source for a rural area -jobs creation Activities: -Building a prototype for electricity production -Test Prototype -1st Version of the prototype -starting building plants watering system within one district(this include water pumps and watering pipes) -Creating interest centers within that district(welding workshops, carpentry workshops). -Maintenance of centers and watering system within that district(concerned District: Kabarore) Innovative approaches: Before i talk about different innovative approaches, the idea of starting thinking about a such project was how I saw a big number of my community starving .With all this bothering me , i knew that i had to understand everyone's interests and find a solution. According to how important is the issue i couldn't become attached to one particular solution,i had to dive in for interests(needs)that i want to satisfy by the given solution. I had to find a solution that will almost satisfies everyone's interest which are: -satisfying consumers demand by keeping stable the agriculture supply chain -food and nutrition security -decrease unemployment rate in rural area in particular -increase production and have much to export The innovative approaches was to find a problem solving solution that needs time and attention for it to be implemented in all districts,i had to find a solution that will bundle a number of options together for a more satisfactory solution which will help farmers not to wait until rainy season, the solution itself will fill the cut that previously have been caused by the lack of rain. it will be a savior solution and it need to be taken right so that the community will find itself in good shape for the straightaway after the 1st stage
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
With around 130 rural districts , my idea targets all farmers within those districts,if the idea is full implemented , the expected impact will play an important role in agriculture production. Different key measures to evaluate success will check on : -Productivity(increase in production, estimated production potential, fertilizers per output, chemical per output, work per output, water per output) -Administration(plantation age structure, plants per hectare, total plants number, filed utilization rate, people efficiency, mechanization utilization) -Finance(profitability,investment evaluation, fixed vs variable costs) -Inventory(average sales period per culture, waste percentage, low income items) -Job Rate(how many people employed )
Plans for implementation and sustainability
Problem: famine caused by agriculture supply chain cuts due to dry season farming absence Solution:Burundi electrical-watering dry-season farming Customer Segments:All 130 rural districts and the whole population concerned by famine Unique Value Proposition:watering pipes system solution using electric water pumps running with home-made electricity available 24/24 Competitive Landscape:archaic method of watering with fuel-based water pump Competitive Advantage: home made electricity and watering pipes implementation Channels:Through Districts Revenue Streams : out of 1000 tons of harvest per district, the 200 tons will be mine, which will make 26000 tons per 130 district. Key Partners:Districts,Population,Government,Wholesalers ,Boarding Schools,Military,Police and WFP(World Food Program) Cost Structure:the cost of harvested products will be reduced on the basis of prevailing market prices, taking into account the purchasing power of the rural population Key Metrics: The success of the project will be measured by the amount of harvest, the fall of prices on the market, the ability to feed the entire population and the lowering of the famine level that reigns over the rural population in particular and over all Burundi in General
I am 25 years old , I graduated from International University of Equator ,obtained excellent grades in graduation school, and was also the recipient of many awards such as earning consistently high level of academic performance, participating in Africa Grand Challenge 2nd Edition and Big Data workshop in Arusha. I know that being a successful entrepreneur in technology has never been easy ,so ,to innovate ,face and develop advance technologies,i have to : -develop a massive ability and willingness , -enhance ability to work as part of a team, -Sharpen my problem solving skills, -Increase my Determination , -be ready to work long hours at a task, -stay patience and -keep an analytical mind of an entrepreneur within and outside my community. I will identify and create new economic opportunities and introduce my innovative ideas. I want to be involved so that my community can be saved from any unforeseen financial and agriculture crisis. This is a tremendous goal, but for me, it is an opportunity to make a difference in my neighborhood and for my community.
