sustainable waste & power management in hotels and restaurants.
Explain your idea in details:
so, the main objective of my idea is "how to manage the food court wastes and how to make the place more sustainable" waste management: most mass food producing companies like mcdonald's, domino's, kFC, etc. produces so much paper & plastic waste like glasses, cups, bottles, straws, tissues etc. I have build a grinder with little changes that can turn this type of products into powder form. we'll put grinders for both paper & plastic separately. than we will collect powder from each restaurants and will heat treat them to sterilize. then this will be sent for recycling and will make the same accessories for hotels again. power management: all these restaurants needs power for lights and stuff so, we'll make it sustainable for them. we are using piezo electric plates. we will put 1 sq. ft plates under the main entrance and on the steps of stairs. as every customer walkes in or out or uses stair will convert their force energy into electricity for hotels and it'll reduce the bill and will save the environment. this plates can produce 1v to 15v each step and can power our grinders, lights etc. this is how we can make restaurants a eco and sustainable place, which will reduce much pollution and will help to fight climate change.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
I am believing that this is the most simple and efficient way to reduce the plastic and paper waste coming out from restaurants. waste is one of the biggest problems in today's world, and one of the major source of waste are of course, hotels and restaurants. we can't ignore the fact that food courts and restaurants uses the most little to large paper-plastic accessories. with 47 million people eating at McDonald's everyday, it produces the most waste in food industry: 90,000 tons annually. it costs 1.3 million dollars. if we add other hotels, restaurants and food courts than you can't imagine the amount of waste produced. if we talk about power than "hotels and motels in the US use an average of 14 kilowatt-hours of electricity and 49 cubic feet of natural gas per square foot annually. we can together reduce the impact on environment and can make hotels sustainable. I'm believing with this idea we can reduce waste by more than 80% and can make the process of recycling easier.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
I am constantly seeking for a big drop, which can provide me funding and support to implement my idea in real world. i would also like to gather a team of science enthusiasts that can provide us moral and technical support too. we will organize an organization that will contact and collaborate with all the food courts and hotels and will provide them the paper-plastic grinders and our piezo plate system for affordable cost and also our company will collect the grinned waste and will recycle them in sustainable way. we will also make the cups, bottles, straws etc. for food companies like Mcdonald's and KFC, by using recycled waste and will provide them cheaper than the newly made paper-plastic accessories. this are plans for implementation and sustainability.
hi everyone, this is Tejas mehta, an 18 years old college student who is seeking a big drop to prove himself. i belong to the little town of amreli in gujrat, India. in our society most people will ask for just marks and grades, and i think that's why students here don't get much gap or chance until they complete studying. my motivation is the hope in humanity and the fact that humans can do anything. i wanna work to make this world a better place to live. from last 8 years i am constantly taking part in various state, national and international science events including "google science fair". I've won many national competitions and have got the chance to visit India's biggest plasma research center the "IPR". I also have some projects that i'm working on. I think imagination is the plus point i seek for in the people other than knowledge, because u can always store and access book knowledge and that's why hard-drives are for. :))))
