Women's empowerment depends to a large extent on their ability to participate in the economic life of their society and country. Through this participation, one of the objectives of this project will be to create employment opportunities for women in the Jordanian regions through the use of the platform (Diamond Hands). Where the Diamond Hands platform offers a radical solution to the problems in the form of an interactive e-community to highlight artistic works and products by women and enable customers to view and purchase products and artwork directly from them. The platform also enables women to hire other less experienced women to help them complete their work, or seek help and advice from more experienced women to capitalize on their experiences. Our primary goal is to empower women by giving them the education and skills to be successful as independent business people. This goal is achieved through the platform by organizing training on various business-related topics to promote entrepreneurship. Goals and Objectives Overall goal: Invest in the empowerment of women living in small communities of Jordan by enhancing their business skill set. Objective A: Educate artisan women across Jordan in sustainable business creation Objective B: Assist artisan women in the regions of Jordan to market their product. Description of activities: A. Supply Chain Management module training of women in the regions of Jordan. - Four training courses will be organized in each handicraft area of Jordan. B. Ongoing coaching and reinforcement of the principles introduced in the training so that these sit at her home and are practiced in their daily activities. - Diamond Hands staff will visit each of the producer partners on at least a quarterly basis. C. Develop new, market oriented products and and marketed through the platform.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
It is proven that the economic sustainability creates balance in the family and the respect level and approaches of both partners changes towards their shared life, thus promoting more equality. From this perspective, the following tangible results were achieved for the target beneficiaries of the project through the Diamond Hands platform: Result 1: 500 professional women have been educated in management positions in the establishment and management of a successful production units. Results to Score 1: At least 500 women received different training on SCM principles and practical applications. 500 women received on-the-go training related to their business operations. 1,500 women with economic empowerment and more independence. Result 2: 1,500 literate women have a sustainable income from sales of their products. Result to Score 2: 1,500 economically sustainable and more active women in their communities. 1,500 women with sustainable marketing opportunities both inside and outside Jordan. Sustainability The 17 Sustainable Development Goals(SDGS) are also in focus in this project. Where this education project aims at economic empowerment of women, thus directly addressing the following of the SDGs: #1 No Poverty. More money in womens pockets reduces poverty. #2 Zero Hunger. More money in womens pockets means more and better food for the family. #3 Good Health and Well Being. More and better food means better health and well being. #4 Quality Education. The project will provide quality training that can be used practically. #5 Gender Equality. More money in womens pockets promotes more participation in society. #8 Decent Work and Economic Growth. More skills in women means more consistent work and economic growth. #10 Reduced Inequality. More money in womens pockets evens the playing field. Several others of the 17 can be indirectly addressed, but these are directly so. Where educational projects are the most sustainable ones especially when those are implemented using the participatory approach and Investing in education for women is the most sustainable solution.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
Methods of implementation: Preparation: A. During the first 30 days of the project, the project team will be defined and contracts will be signed with the project team and the Diamond Hands producer partners. The office will be prepared for operation, and the public informed through social media. Action: A. During the action phase, the project proposal will be implemented according to the designed guidelines and activity plan. It will be monitored and evaluated. Revisions will be made if needed to assure efficiency. Termination: A. The project will be terminated after the completion of the project narrative and financial reports will be made available to the donors. An evaluation will be carried out which will create the foundation for the next project. Monitoring of project activities: Overall monitoring plans, formats and schedules will be developed during the initial four months. The monitoring will track implementation schedule, periodic reporting requirements as well as qualitative information such as indicators of mind set change, values adoption and group effectiveness. The Program Manager will ensure day to day and overall monitoring of the program. A Monitoring Action Plan will be drawn up based on project objectives and action plans. The monitoring will be carried out on a regular basis and it will be impact-oriented. Business model and source of financing: The monthly subscriptions system will be used by the participating women for the benefits and services we offer. The following are our services and subscriptions: 20 Jordanian Dinar: Marketing service for products and interaction with customers through the platform and facilitating the delivery of products to customers 15 Jordanian Dinar: Providing training and consulting services for women to develop their products and benefit from each other's experiences 30 Jordanian Dinar: Management of household and craft projects and provision of raw materials and labor required for women's projects
I am Majdi Suleiman, 30 old from Zarqa - Jordan and I am Innovator and entrepreneur with 3 years in Business Leadership and Entrepreneurship. - I have a High Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership - CMI - UK - I have also completed Master of Business Administration MBA (Innovation and Entrepreneurship), Sunderland - UK - Founder of Diamond Hands for Handicrafts Projects I have excellent experience in craft training programs, my mother ( Eman Salman) has worked in this field for more than 6 years and I stayed beside her until I worked in a lot of the arts and crafts centers. This made me gain a long experience in that field and made me complete my MBA in Business Administration until to open a company in this field of handicraft that I loves. This my idea as a successful project has received many awards for local achievements in sustainable development and women's empowerment.
