Substitute of LIDAR- Application in agricultural industry
Explain your idea in details:
This project is for measuring distance using laser beam for continuous time. Rangefinder, scanning galvanometer and Functional/ Arbitrary Waveform Generator/ arduino coding will be the basic equipment for the setup. There will be a corresponding programme to display the instant distance on monitor to track the process. The setup will be fixed in a box so to ensure the measurement is correct. The objective is to use low cost equipments to perform same distance measurement function and improve the accuracy of measurement.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
After development of the model, it aims to use it into lower- end industry, such as agricultural industry. It can make an impact on sustainable development because the operation of scanning galvanometer will be changed to solar power operation. In farming, it is hard for a farmer to look after all the plants at a time and determine which one can be havest. Through range of angle of operation and distance measurement, it can detect the crops are at a height that is enough for havest by looking at the computer. With the help of robotic development, the robot can help to harvest and put it into storage room. Lastly, with the use of RFID technology, it can help to store the crops and check the inventory.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
In the plan of implementation, since I have developed raw model, I would first change the power of scanning galvanometer into solar power operating system. Then, I would find robots that have been developed by industry to cooperate with my system to harvest crops. After that, making a storage system for RFID to identify the crops and update the quantity instantly after the robot puts or removes the crops. The most important part is financing source, which may be done by finding investors or joining start- up company. The target for implementation would be United States and India. This would enable me to see how developed country and developing country are different from each other in implementation.

My motivation for innovation is from television, which I see many talented people around the world have invested various products that benefit to society. As a result, I would like to also do innovation. I am a person who love to work rather than talk. Action speaks louder than words. I am enthusiastic in different aspects, apart from research, also in music. I have getten many scholarships relating to my academic studies and overseas internship. I worked for projects in data science which is about prediction of election data and visualization.
