All these aspects alleviate the negative aspects of poverty and promote sustainable development. I truly believe education and sport can enable countries to improve human asset index and in the long run the economic vulnerability of nations, like Angola.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
Budget requirements for one particular school located in Newark, New Jersey, in the United States: - Cost for 1 student per year Tuition: $13,000/year; Book/Supplies fees: $2,000/year; Room and board: $9,000/year; Medical Insurance: $2,500/year; International Visa fee: $200; Sport Academy within the school (only for athletic scholarships) - $7,000/year; - Annual Cost for 1 student - $26,700 (academic scholarship) - Annual Cost for 1 student - $33,700 (athletic scholarship) (It's important to understand that different schools have different fees, however this particular school's fees are lower than most.) Needless to say, it is fundamental that I find a private sector partnership. I have contacted a few entities but nothing concrete thus far. Academic Scholarships eligibility Student will be requested to: 1. Write a 1-page cover letter, which would describe his or her personal and professional ambitions & goals; a. It should also highlight a great level of individuality what makes you different than others? b. Also, great opportunity to understand what sort of studies the student wish to follow later in College/University; 2. Write a 1-page cover letter on any topic in English (topic is chosen by the student); a. This helps assess the level of English; 3. Have outstanding grades and attitude inside the classroom; a. Teachers will be contacted; Price of service: In view of the fact that, families cannot afford the fees stated above, based on their financial means my entity will envisage to a request a trimestral (September, December & March / yearly) fee that will range from $500 to $2,500. If a given student has the merit to be granted a scholarship, he or she will certainly receive such opportunity. Financial incapability cannot be an impediment to receive quality education.
In 1987, I was born in Ukraine. My parents met in Kiev, where they were both able to receive quality education through a scholarship. We moved back to Angola a year later. From 1994 to 2006, due to my father's diplomatic career, we moved and lived in Geneva, Stockholm and New York. I started playing football (not American football) in Geneva and continued throughout my adolescence and early twenties. My skills in football enabled me to obtain an athletic scholarship to study and play in Saint Peter's University in New Jersey. Then, in 2014, while working at the Permanent Mission of Angola to the UN, I enrolled in a Master of Fine Art program, in City College of New York, and obtained my diploma in 2017. Managing school and work was a demanding task, but not an impossible one. I am a person who speaks three different languages and is able to understand different perspectives and realities of the world. This initiative allows to give these possibilities I have received throughout my life. And it also enables me to provide an option to youths and positively impact their lives. We are born to be able develop our individualities. This initiative empowers me to keep developing what makes me different. And for the youths in Angola, who many are inactive, quality education is an essential step for them to develop their individualities as well.
