Explain your idea in details:
The park will be located in Mitundu, Lilongwe along the Mlare dam. The premises of the park will comprise of a big yard for picnics ,camping, restaurant and washroom facilities. The park will provide a safe and relaxing environment for all age groups providing them with spectacular view of the dam and amazing sunset's.The park will bring development to the Mlare community as it will host local and international tourists and in return maximize our returns. The park will provide a safe and relaxing environment with the following services. Accommodation though Camping and Chalets, Hosting social events such as Picnics,weddings,Sports and birthdays, a full time restaurant for light meals and snacks, we will also have activities for the tourists such as Hiking,Fishing,bike ride,Canoeing, Sunset watching and yoga. Our objective is to build a safe and relaxing park that will cater for all ages and will contribute a positive change to the community. Our goals include:1. A 20% market share in our first year. 2. An modest increase in our gross margins within the second year of operation. 3. An increase in our market share by a minimum of 10% for each of our first five years. Currently, there are no quality camping parks in Lilongwe, or the surrounding areas. The company believes that by entering the marketplace first and by establishing quality facilities, it will become, and remain, one of the best camping park's. Our fundamental objective is to realize how we impact the community that we do business in, knowing that we will stand the test of time if the local residents approve and support our park. We are planning to do this by being creative and innovative for example our restaurant and chalets will be made from bus frames just to be different and exciting.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
Tourism can be a powerful tool for community development and reducing inequalities if it engages local populations and all key stakeholders in its development. Our fundamental objective is to ensure that we impact the community sorrounding the Mlare nature camping park. This aspect is important to the business because the local residents need to approve and support the park. The growing influence of the tourism sector as an economic powerhouse and its potential as a tool for development are irrefutable, through job creation the park will contribute to the eradication of poverty by employing the locals and also supporting local businesses. Tourism development relies on good public and private supplied infrastructure. To create an innovative environment, the Mlare nature camping park will incentivize the local government to upgrade the infrastructures such as roads, electricity, telephone lines and public transport networks. This will improve the quality of life for the residents and create easy access for the clients . Mlare nature camping park will participate in agro-tourism by promoting local farmers in producing quality products which can be sold at the park or the nearest trading centre's where tourist can purchase. We will also have farm tours where tourist will be able to appreciate our traditional agricultural activities. To evaluate these golas we will work hand in hand with the community especially the youth and women by involving them in developing the community.

Mlare Nature camping park business will be strategically located along Mlare Dam. This will be considered as a marketing strategy because of the scenery and the number of activities that we will be able to offer and stand out from our competitors. The nature camping park will offer accommodation through chalets and camping tents, tourist activities such hiking, canoeing, cycling ,yoga and many more , hosting social events ie weddings, picnics, and restaurant for light meals and beverages. These tailor made services will maximise our revenue and in return we provide good services. There are a no quality nature camping parks in Lilongwe city. The company believes that by entering the market place first and by establishing quality facilities and activities, Mlare nature camping park will become and remain a strong competitor in the camping business in Lilongwe City and surrounding areas. Our target market are the local and international tourists of all economic statuses, but we will specifically target the millennials (18-35) as they represent a higher percentage of explorers. The millennials are spontaneous and very active on social media channels and that way they will end up promoting our business. Mlare Nature camping park will also be marketed through various platforms such as direct agents, online, social and print media and also through fellow operators in the tourism industry to widen its visibility. Pricing of our products and services will be done in way that we appear more competitive on the market by considering all economic classes of our customers. We will also be having special rates during the off peak season to increase our occupancy rate. This business is at planning stage and the constructions on the site are expected to start as soon as investors have been identified. Therefore, the business seeks funding.
I am spirit driven , hardworking and also a goalgetter. I believe in working hard for something you have passion for for better results. My life changed when i was laid off after working for the bank for 5 years. The bank was merging with another entity and redundancies were made. This was a life changing moment as I experienced the challenges of being unemployed. This sparked a moment of growth as I started thinking about other ways of making money but also creating employment for other young people facing the same situation as me. This led me to use my lay-off payment to start business known as Mwala Cottage. I feel that my starting of this business is very important as it shows how young people should start taking charge of improving their situation and that of others. I am a holder of a Bachelors Degree in Social Science with a bias in Marketing Psychology and a minor in Human Resources Management attained from the University of Malawi , Chancellor College. I am a YALI Alumni with a certificate in Business and Entrepreneurship. I am a chairlady of Salima Tourism Association and the secretary of Sengabay Waste Management group. In 2018 Mwala cottage was recognised and was selected among other operators to attend a Tourism study tour in Germany. I am currently studying towards a Master of Science in Project Management. I have 5 years frontline banking experience having worked for 2 of the largest banks in Malawi. This experience has helped me to gather knowledge in Client Management and to appreciate the importance of customer service. I have gathered vast experience in the field over the time in running Mwala Cottage and i will be able to bring the Mlare park vision alive.
