Plans for implementation and sustainability
Training teachers by our Organisation has been in existence since 2013 to date despite the limited number of equipment needed to make the training more successful. The project will have a lasting benefit to Primary School teachers who will be trained as the Training of Trainers will continue to be relevant to learners with special needs and disabilities. Sustainability will be realised through achieving the project overall aim which is to ensure quality education to learners with disabilities. Braille machines, abacii and the international braille kit will be purchased by this fund which will forever last in the organisation and this will ensure sustainability. Project youth engaged in this project have passion and are effective in handling issues faced by persons with disabilities two of them being persons with disabilities with first-hand experience and perceive to make a difference in the society by creating awareness about challenges and prevention of issues faced by persons with disabilities. The trained beneficiaries will also continue to build the capacity of other people since they will have been taken through the training and will have experience. The economic benefits of the project will be sustained without further external input. This being a project that offers educational skills, the beneficiaries will be giving a small amount of money to pay for trainers facilitation and for tea and lunch, the fruits of SDG 4 and SDG 10 will continue to be realized over long period of time. There will be a lot of interesting new things to be learnt by the project beneficiaries hence making them curious to come and learn more each new day. Children with disabilities who will be beneficiaries of this project will have skills that will guarantee their success inside and out of the school environment thus acquiring foundational literacy and socio-emotional skills, which will prepare them for lifetime
I just turned 36 last month, I still feel very youthful though I have passed the age limit, I was born in 11th June, 1983. I have a higher diploma in secretarial management I did this course to enable me have a speed while typing correspondence needed to be provided in accessible formats for persons with disabilities. I have a certificate in braille and a certificate in sign language, I train children in speech in the community, I train teachers in Abacus, Braille and Sign Language though this has been challenging due to the cost needed for these machines.
