Bioplastic: An environment friendly economical plastic

Plastic is major threat for aquatic, terrestrial and our lives nowadays worldwide. Apart from its degradation issue, If this plastic is burned; it causes environmental pollution especially Global Warming. Many countries have banned the use of plastic while others are replacing their demand of plastic with bioplastic which is costly. For developing countries there is a need of economical alternative to solve this issue. On the other hand, untreated industrial waste water is directly added in rivers and canals and is used as irrigation water for agriculture purposes. There is a need to find solution of all these threatening problems. So this bioplastic will be prepared from microphytes along with multiple benefits. Microphytes can grow even under harsh conditions so no specific environmental conditions are required for their growth. Microphytes are autotrophs so they will reduce green house effect by fixing Carbon dioxide. Oil and soap industry waste water will be used to grow microalgae. Microphytes will grow by cleaning this water. Microalgae will be isolated. This industrial water now can be used for Agriculture purposes. Bioplastic will be prepared from these isolated microphytes. This product will be easily degradable in soil and water. It will not harm aquatic life. Shelf life will be less. The main objective is to prepare bioplastic from a source that will be economical. This bioplastic will replace plastic bags, straws etc. and will maintain soil health. Apart from this, the source of bioplastic will clean soap and oil industrial water.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
Aquatic, wild life and we human beings are in serious threat by ourselves. By use of plastic, not only we are trying to kill ourselves but also all other lives. Aquatic and Wild life safety is our responsibility.So there is a need to replace plastic with economical bioplastic. The main reason in developing countries why people still don't accept bioplastic because they find it expensive. But this bioplastic will be acceptable by every one because it will not be costly. One plastic bag weighs 5 microgram. From just 1L of water 150-200mg of microphytes mass is obtained. Dry weight will be approximately 15-20mg. From just 1mg of dry weight 200 bags can be prepared. From 20mg thousands of bags can be prepared. Every one will accept this product when they'll come to know that just one litre of waste water is gonna give us thousands of bioplastic bags. what's required here just 1L waste water to make thousands of bags. This plastic will maintain soil health and even aquatic life. This product will be successful when farmers will get clean water for agriculture purposes and'll grow healthy food. In some developing countries, there is a issue regarding clean water availability. To make this product, soap and oil industries waste water will be used. Hence this water can be preserved for future use for agriculture purposes.Target will be departmental stores, all shopping markets that use plastic bags especially vegetable shops. Product will be moulded into packaging material, food trays, straws etc. The product will reduce non-renewable energy consumption and green house gas emissions.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
My idea will not only focus on replacing plastic in markets. As we all know that plastic is used everywhere in departmental stores, vegetable stores, cafes, even our daily use water bottles are of plastic. We are aware of it that hundred of years are required for its complete degradation and especially plastic bags affect our soil badly which is base of Agriculture i mean life. So my idea is not gonna solve that all problem by replacing plastic but this bioplastic preparation source will reduce green house effect, will clean industrial waste water to preserve water for Agricultural purposes and it will be safe for aquatic life. I'll implement it on larger scale so that an economical plastic that even our farmers might buy, can be brought in every market for our daily use. On smaller scale, from 1L of waste water, thousands of bags can be prepared. Imagine its implementation on larger scale. If this product will be prepared, not only in developed countries but in developing ones, not only the need regarding plastic will be fulfilled but aquatic, wild and human life will be safe. That product will be sustainable because of multiple benefits. From its preparation to market demand, there is a cycle improving human life standards, reducing environmental pollution, protecting aquatic and wild life and at the end with increase in economy by its use.
