SUNGA is an idea that consists of developing almost 25 hectares of maize fields in the department of BOUENZA in southern Congo Brazzaville and in collaboration with the local population in order to strengthen maize which is one of the elements and Congolese staple food whose crop is very small and most often hand-grown by payers and intended for self-consumption. SUNGA aims not only to supply Congolese corn markets but also to teach local people the methods and techniques to optimize yields and create a source of employment for the local population from its platform
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
in terms of sustainable development, SUNGA aims to train people to optimize and increase their production of maize so that it is not only intended for self-consumption but also for sale. develop the local economy by creating a new source of revenue because the production of peasants totaling 50 hectares will be transformed by the SUNGA structure
Plans for implementation and sustainability
SUNGA aims to partner with rural, indigenous and local communities in the BOUENZA area and aims to expand its development plan over 5 years. the idea is to rely on a responsible agriculture that will respect the nature alternately vegetables such as tomato and corn in the fields to avoid impoverishment and degradation of the soil. The crops will be grown during the rainy seasons and after the corn harvest, various vegetables will be grown to sustain the economic activity of the region and to breathe the soil.
I am Christ Orphet Jesse JOLLY-BOIS, born January 05, 1995 in nkayi, in the department of BOUENZA in the south of Congo Brazzaville, I am a student holding a license in industrial maintenance of the Ecole Nationale Superieure Polytechnique (ENSP) from Marien NGOUABI University of Congo in 2018, I am currently enrolled in electromechanical engineering at the same school. I am passionate about agriculture and mechanics. I have an entrepreneurial and competitive spirit and I have a taste for risk. I participated in the treasure hunt for the Francophonie where I was among the winners and I also took part in the CREATHON entrepreneurial contest of the Francophonie and the Startupper competion of Total Congo.
