Best Ideas 2019 features all the nominated entries submitted under ‘Submit your Idea’ category. All the entries consist of innovative solutions or propositions for an enterprise that champions the Sustainable Development Goals. They can be on the conceptual, planning, or start-up stage.
Explain your idea in details:
The idea is in its initialization phase with the first startups coming to life (MVP-AlphaVersion). This proposal includes the creation of a virtual portal that will promote global actions based on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) addressing environmental, political and economic issues for all people around the world. For now, solutions for 5 categories are proposed: health (SDG3), education (SDG4), technology (SDG15), justice (SDG16) and society (SDG17). Thus, Startups created from the theoretical basis offered would effectively be projects to be validated in the form of companies or informal programs. See our progress at: https://socialstartups.jusblog.com *monetization note: The government of many countries has funds for initiatives that promote social impact projects, especially involving technology. This amount is sufficient to maintain projects that have a repeatable and scalable business model. For example, the application that promotes the practice of physical and sports activities (AFEs) as set out in Brazil's National Human Development Report 2017, Movement is Life: Physical and Sports Activities for All People. To encourage the practice of physical activity of thousands of people just online access, without database or complexity can provide a solution to this problem. In the tests the application behaved stably even with a very high number of requests in a shared APACHE hosting. Believe me, it takes little to make it work = D More in Medium article: https://bit.ly/2PveIC1
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
Regarding the expected impact of this project on sustainable development, it is stated that all Startups designed by the Social Startups platform will be based on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Currently the following objectives are directly addressed by the MVP's under construction: Health and Welfare (SDG 3); Quality Education (SDG 4); Terrestrial Life (SDG 15); Peace, Justice, and Effective Institutions (SDG 16) and Partnerships and Means of Implementation (SDG 17). For BestIdeas2019 two solutions stand out exclusively: As a Health and Wellbeing (ODS 3) solution, we seek to promote the healthy lifestyle of people by fighting obesity to eliminate deaths worldwide from cardiovascular, carcinogenic, respiratory and diabetes. Even the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) 2015, in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO), estimated that 592 million people in 2025 could have diabetes. Therefore, a project to validate the idea proposed by Health and Wellness could be an application that encourages physical and sports activities (AFEs). As a solution for Peace, Justice and Effective Institutions (SDG 16), we seek to ensure access to justice for all through digital technologies, acting against corruption, promoting transparency and practicing the inclusion of collective opinion in the country's public policies. According to the Justice in Numbers Report 2017 of the National Council of Justice (CNJ), more than 80 million cases are in the judiciary, and the State Justice concentrates most of these cases. Therefore, a project to validate the idea proposed by Peace, Justice and Effective Institutions could be an application that stimulates Brazil's adaptation to the General Data Protection Act (LGPD). This proposal aims to promote sustainable initiatives of social impact globally, for all people, everywhere.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
Initially, the emphasis of solutions concentrates its effects on Brazil, although the situation dealt with may be common to many other countries. The platform implementation plan consists of 3 steps: 1. Creation of all projects in alpha version (in progress); 2. Error analysis, maintenance and control for the creation of beta versions; 3. Validation of results, creation and release of official versions of each project. Why Brazil initially? Brazil has 17 million small businesses, representing 99% of the country's total enterprises, 52% of jobs and accounting for 27% of the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), according to the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service. Companies (Sebrae) (EPOCANEGOCIOS, 2019). You can have a business that has been around for years, which has a traditional management model, but at the same time has an impact. Now, the ones that are emerging today, the vast majority are startups, are young people who are starting to look at the base of the pyramid as an opportunity to also fulfill a yearning to contribute to a cause , explains Célio Cabral Sousa Júnior, National Innovation Manager , Technology and Sustainability of Sebrae (EPOCANEGOCIOS, 2019). Finally, social impact businesses have been moving around $ 60 billion globally and up about 7 percent a year, according to a survey by Ase Network of Development Entrepreneurs, according to the organization, in another. According to a survey conducted by the Brazilian Association of Private Equity and Venture Capital (ABVCAP), US$ 1.3 billion was allocated to impact investments in Latin America in 2014 and 2015. Brazil was the second largest market in the region (EPOCANEGOCIOS, 2019).
