Explain your project in details:

Main aim is to protect our environment from emissions and also deforestation for search of firewood. Also ensure that every household have a source of electricity at the most affordable and simple way. Working with the community to eradicate poverty is a key interest where we turn waste to wealth and currently creating employment for juakali sector with our simplified model of the powerjiko.

Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development

Apparently despite being a start we have managed to distribute the powerjiko to 100 consumers. And using a small machinery we provide them with the pellets. The demand is so high that we have expanded the company and hope to cover the whole of Western Kenya in the next one month. In the mean time the company have 15 employees and 50 distributors in Western Kenya.

Sustainability and future plans

Our initial stage is design and fabrication, then testing and evaluation to ensure good quality, production of pellets, sales and marketing of our products. Major source of finances is from sponsorship and grants. The project is in incubation period and hoping to expand and grow it worldwide. The major target group of the company is sub-saharan region where there is a large number of people not connected to the national grid and still relying on firewood and charcoal for cooking. We aim at conserving and protecting the environment.
