Explain your project in details:
Most students have a problem of connecting and interacting with other students and mentors because they cannot afford expensive exchange programmes. Suapon was created to connect students from Africa with the rest of the world for idea sharing and peer-to-peer learning. This will help students who can't afford to travel to exchange programmes have the opportunity to meet and learn from colleagues from other institutions. We believe this will help promote the quality of education and reduce inequalities. Once a student signs up they can interact with other students, sending personal messages, create groups and send public messages promoting peer-to-peer mentoring. Our main target group is tertiary students across the globe and we know these students like our product since the beta version is currently been used by 521 students in 7 tertiary institutions across Ghana. Again upon our market research, it was established that 78% of students are willing to use the product if it becomes available.
Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
The beta version of Suapon currently has 521 users from 7 institutions across Ghana and we are hoping to release the final version by the end of the year. Suapon will be themed a success when we are able to connect half the population of tertiary students in the world.
Sustainability and future plans
Our key partners for this project are the various tertiary institutions and the key activities include peer-to-peer mentoring, idea sharing and help-seeking. Our key value proposition is we are reducing inequalities by offering students who cannot afford exchange programmes have a virtual one for free. We are also helping students get career guidance from former students and mentors in their field of study. This we believe will have a great impact and help improve the quality of education as students will now know how to plan their activities well while in school. The platform will be provided to students for free and we hope to generate income through advertisement.
