Sustainability and future plans

At the moment my project is self sponsored and funded by me using the money I earn from my job as a medical doctor . This money caters for studio sessions for recording of songs, making of videos as well the purchase of internet bundle for dissemination of information since it is largely social media based . In future , with support and better funding I intend to set up a personal studio as well as employ members of staff which will include - music producer, graphic designer, cinematographer and a public relation officer. With this I will be able to produce higher quality sounds , pictures and videos as well as reach the widest possible audience in my business of health education and promotion through music

Your profile as an entrepreneur

My name is Dr Ibe Chiemezie Chukwuma, I am 28 years old , born on 17th October 1990 to a monogamous family of 4 children. I am the last of my siblings. I grew up in a highly musical environment as i grew up seeing my mother compose songs at home. My elder who was an avid fan of rap music also influenced me music. At the age of 19 I was admitted into the University of Port Harcourt , Nigeria to study medicine and surgery and i graduated in 2017. While in medical school I was greatly disheartened by the high rate of medical ignorance and the high number of preventable deaths in my personal environment. I was also dissatisfied with the complex mode of communication during health education engagements and was inspired to innovative and simple way to educate people and music came in handy. I am multi-talented , creative professional and strong - willed. These characters stand me out and are attributable to my succeses. In 2018, as a house officer at Federal Medical Center Owerri, I was awarded the Best House officer in surgery by the combined board of surgery and orthopaedics as well as the overall best male house officer by the Association of Resident Doctors Owerri. These awards were in recognition of my stellar services as a medical doctor both in the hospital and on social media.

Dr Ibe Chiemezie against all odds posed on him by the enormous challenges with the practice of medicine in Nigeria, still finds a way to do more work; public enlightenment on health related issues, and he does this with an adept display of musical skills which makes his campaigns more appealing and acceptable to his target audience. Kudos to him. He is doing a great job!

How you selflessly dish out info for a healthy lifestyle through music. There's no other you, so we can't trade you for anything else. Usually, when a doctor tries to give medical advice, it's all boring and tiresome making it difficult for one to adhere, but with the way you sing to us making it all fun without skipping anything important, who wouldn't adhere? We find ourselves singing every word and practicing what you've asked of us through the same song, I'm a testifier. What you doing for the public if priceless, don't stop, keep soaring. Shine on Star doc!

Star doc has created so many medical awareness through music. And is undoubtedly the first of its kind. He deserves the award.

His awareness on sickle cell disease particularly thrills me. He has alot of experience in medicine where he started off from medical school and to United States as a paramedics.

He has decided to use social media to communicate knowing fully well that is the new trend especially in the bid to reach out to youths

Star Doc is undoubtedly amazing. I have learnt a lot from his videos.
Our society needs more of this, especially these days that people are too lazy to read. At least, remembering a rap line with an important medical content will go a long way, if you ask me. Keep it up Mex! :)

Its more than a welcome development to infuse health into music. Its a niche he's created and it'll be his legacy. These are the kind of things we need in our contemporary time. Things that not only inspire but enlighten and educate for the benefit of the present and the future.

Ignacio Estrada says "if a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn"

We love music, we don't like reading, we are ignorant of our health. Mohammed is reluctant to go to the mountain because he's busy with his phone on social media and listening to music, now the mountain has come to him. He must learn about his health and stay alive and healthy. Stardoc has just done "Ignacio Estrada" and "bringing the tough mountain down to Mohammed"

Keep it up brother!!

StarDoc, well done for all your great work. Your Health education through music and your use of social media is very innovative and inspiring especially in this internet savvy generation. Music is a language understood and appreciated by all age groups and good music like the ones you make really appeal to the youth. What better way to educate the youth than through a media they love and spend time with. Kudos! I hope you get this cause you deserve it.
