Explain your project in details:

The African Centre for Participatory Governance aims to be a centre of leadership, a structure of youth, in solidarity, capable of promoting and fostering the emergence of a dynamic, responsible, united and voluntarily committed African youth in the process of the emergence of a new Africa. The objective of the project is to build a new community of young leaders generating cutting-edge knowledge on participatory governance and development enabling them to see and create a new future with an inclusive, sustainable and participatory vision. The beneficiaries of the project are young people aged 16 to 24 and children. We have developed a learning cycle that will help participants acquire new skills and master new concepts. This four-part learning cycle integrates the need to discover gaps in your knowledge and skills, learning at your own pace, peer learning (students teaching and learning from each other) and facilitated group learning. Each step of the learning cycle is incorporated into the courses that participants will take as part of their core leadership. Beneficiaries will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, ethnic origin, colour, sex, religion, socio-economic status, disability, sexual orientation or gender identity.

May 21, 2019 17:32

Business and Entrepreneurship

This program is designed for the category of emerging or aspiring entrepreneurs who wish to take on leadership roles in the private sector or create their own businesses on the continent. It will allow participants to become familiar with a variety of business and enterprise approaches, including those used to address social issues. It will also strengthen technical and leadership capacities in areas such as strategy, operations, supply chain management, business ethics, social entrepreneurship, microfinance, organizational and management development, marketing, innovation and technology, emerging markets and risk analysis, strategic planning, and corporate social responsibility.

May 21, 2019 17:31

Public Management

This programme is designed for those who work or aspire to work in all levels of government (including elected positions), regional organizations such as the African Union or the Economic Community of West African States, international organizations such as the United Nations or other public interest organizations or think tanks. It will expose participants to models of public management and best practices, while building their technical and leadership capacities in areas such as transparency, public procurement, public financial management, government tendering processes, legislative and executive collaboration, citizen engagement and awareness, human resources management, program implementation and policy formulation.

May 21, 2019 17:29

Choice of program

In accordance with the program requirements, participants will be required to select a training program based on their interests and areas of intervention.

May 21, 2019 17:27

Facilitated group learning
At this level participants will learn by reflecting on the applicability of their skills and knowledge. With a trainer, participants will participate in lively classroom discussions on how to make their classroom experience relevant in the real world and how the proposed solutions can solve global problems or help them achieve their mission

May 21, 2019 17:26

Peer learning
Learn from others who have learned it and can explain it to you.
Peer learning is an opportunity to learn from others who have a better understanding of the concepts and can teach you.

May 21, 2019 17:26

Individuals
We recognize that not all participants work in the same way. In order for the participant to be as effective as possible in mastering the concepts, CAGP will create a space where participants will take ownership of their learning. Using the CAGP online platform, they will take courses and work on assigned projects at their own pace and time.

May 21, 2019 17:25

Discovery
Part of learning for a specific purpose is to know what skills are needed to achieve your mission. Through a series of fun and engaging activities, each of your core leadership courses gives you the opportunity to discover important gaps in your skills that you are working to develop at CAGP.

May 21, 2019 17:24

We have developed a learning cycle that will help beneficiaries acquire new skills and master new concepts. This four-part learning cycle includes
a "discovery" experience where you discover gaps in your knowledge and skills,
(ii) learning at your own pace,
(iii) peer learning,
(iv) facilitated group learning

May 21, 2019 17:23

The reason for the project
Africa's greatest need is ethical and entrepreneurial leadership. Too often, we only invest in fighting the symptoms of a lack of leadership in Africa: we give blankets, food and medicine to people affected by war, poverty and famine. But these efforts will never stop if we do not train leaders who prevent wars, entrepreneurs who create jobs and innovators who find lasting solutions to the root causes of Africa's problems. Our goal is to develop the future Nelson Mandela and the African Bill Gates.

May 21, 2019 17:22

-Train young people on local participatory governance, social entrepreneurship, peace and living together
-Bring young people together on a platform where they will discuss the problems they face, where they are informed of what is being done for their benefit, and where they can express their opinions

May 21, 2019 17:21

The objectives of the project
Identification of 250 young leaders per year, 50% of whom are girls aged 14 to 24
Provide young people with practical tools for leadership and gender analysis in the transformation of our communities.

May 21, 2019 17:19

The vision of the project
Build a new community of young leaders generating cutting-edge knowledge on participatory governance and development that enables them to see and create a new future with an inclusive, sustainable and participatory vision.

May 21, 2019 17:18

My project what is it?
A leadership centre, a youth organization for democratic engagement through citizen participation in governance processes and for sustainable peace.

May 21, 2019 16:45

By 2023, the African Centre for Participatory Governance must become a model social centre with a solid financial engine and a significant source of programme income that will enable it to operate in perpetuity in order to participate in the transformation of the Africa we want

May 16, 2019 16:25

In Togo, the population is not interested in public action, social action and this is deplorable. According to Afro barometer figures (2013), a non-partisan survey and research project in Africa that measures citizens' attitudes towards democracy and governance, the economy, civil society and other issues, 26% of Togolese are very interested in public affairs, 22% are more or less interested and 30% are not interested at all; 3% of Togolese often meet politicians, 6% sometimes, and 90% never. This figure indicates the gap between the rulers and the governed. This is a barrier to the involvement of all and to sustainable development. It is therefore necessary to improve the country's public governance through citizen action and the promotion of peace. It is therefore with this in mind that this project aims to support young people's civic engagement and participation in peace-building and the promotion of cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue, by empowering and mobilizing youth organizations, women and men, as well as other key actors (policy makers, researchers, media professionals and social workers).
This project also plans to develop in children the 21st century skills that are the essential currency for participation, achievement and competitiveness in the global economy.

May 16, 2019 16:24
