The Impact Circle
Explain your project in details:
The Impact Circle is growing at a great pace, and has to go further with the change! The youth has more mental and physical strength to perform and if not well guided, becomes a catastrophe hence; we show a practical workable way to lead a purposeful life. Winner of the ENTERPRISE BREAKOUT AWARDS CAMPUS BUSINESS COMMUNITY OF THE YEAR 2019 and strongly committed to positively transforming our ecosystem, our main objectives are - To promote and breed employability through the acquisition of valuable work and interpersonal skills. - To instil in young minds the Yes, I can spirit needed to excel in them and broadening their horizon to aspire and stand out. - Providing a platform to connect young people of strong will to learn together, envision and grow together to building a more thriving community. - Proffering career guidance, encouraging and engaging the youths to purpose, thereby discouraging laziness, youth restiveness and crimes. - Building a community of young potentials solving one global problems or the other (the SDGs). - Creating a bridge to Go Global through our global opportunities linkages. Our activities so far have ranged from collaborating with our partners to organize on-site/physical trainings like Software/App Development, UX/UI Designs, Google Digital skills, and Business Development, Public Speaking/Capacity Building, Leadership, to our Online/WhatApp Webinars, introduction and participation in global opportunities as well as hosting our in house competitions. As a youth based enterprise and as more than 85% of the youth are compliant, the innovation here is our use of the social media and digital tools to carry out most of our activities and trainings. We benefit from OnCampus spaces and our partners to host our physical activities. And these have been helping us in self-sponsoring our activities and still striding with tremendous success records.
Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
The Impact Circle has impacted so much to the sustainable development of our community, despite that fact, we know of how important it is to measure our successes, milestones and achievements. We are a work in - progress and in as much as we have bigger plans in this journey; we gauge our success by: - Especially being accountable to know if how much money coming in is really corresponding with our target impact yields, and also able to hold up for a while. - How fair enough are our customer satisfactions? And I tell you, that the feedbacks and reviews from these young people are what keep us going all out for more. To me, I call it, empathy because I felt same way sometime before I realized that this way is a solution. - Again, the turn up to join is also encouraging (100+ active participants in 10 months). That means that we are not playing around, and the impacts are really relevant. Hence, weve made some achievements worthy of note, like: - Hosted Hult [email protected] OnCampus program with 17 registered teams - 12 running businesses - 4 business ideas undergoing incubation at Heartland Incubation Hub, Oluaka Institute, Owerri - Our Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) training/participation yielded a TEF Entrepreneur with $5,000 grant - 1 member at the Google Summer of Codes 2019 - 2 International Universities Scholarships - 2 IAAC International Science Competition success stories - 20+ job and Intern placements - 5 members presently undergoing Google Digital Skills for Africa Certifications - 1 YALI Fellow, and 4 YALI Network members - 2 teams selected and participated at the UN partnered Hult Prize Regional Summits in Abuja, Nigeria and Accra, Ghana respectively - 3 members elected into students leadership offices, - 2+ International bodies OnCampus Chapters, etc.
Sustainability and future plans
The Impact Circle will by the next three years become one of the biggest human capital/career development firms around for supporting and empowering young persons who desire or pursue to be entrepreneurs, professionals or leaders. This will come in the form of growing our network, number base and partnerships to build the platform into a thriving community where like-minds and higher executives will continue to share information, opportunities and help tips, and leverage same to inspire and give purpose to young minds, they become empowered, make progress and scale in business, civic leadership, public management, etc. By that we will have a succeeding youth - based economy and when re - absorbed into our communities and Africa, will speed up the transformation and future we all want for ourselves. Only then, can we say that Africa is succeeding, with the rest of the world. We plan: 1. To transform the Impact Circle into a world class Social Enterprise by fusing in more technicalities in the valuable work skills training, involving more exposure to the career path development and guidance, introducing more linkages to international opportunities, affording a healthier after training support system, to clamp down to the barest minimum this un employability rate and professionally guide the youths into skill ups and career purposes. 2. To establish an Innovation Hub with a Crowdfunding space from donations, grants and fund raisings to furnish access to funding to these young entrepreneurs and leaders already; a multi facets centre where idea creation, mentorship, co work space, internships, can thrive with in house competitions, accelerator programs, and supports to unlock over 60million youths stuck with great innovations. We will welcome enlightened minds from around the globe to either lend knowledge, work on knowledge or to acquire more, from the lighthouse in Africa.
