The Impact Circle
Explain your project in details:
Barely 8 months in existence, the Impact Circle is growing at a great pace, but we have to go further, change more! The youth has more mental and physical strength to perform and if not well directed, becomes a catastrophe hence; we show a practical workable way to lead a purposeful life. Winner of the Enterprise BreakOut Awards' Campus Business Community of the Year 2019 and strongly committed to positively transforming our ecosystem, our main objectives are - To promote and breed employability of through the acquisition of valuable work and interpersonal skills. - To instill in young minds the Yes, I can spirit needed to excel in them and broadening their horizon to aspire and stand out. - Providing a platform to connect young people of strong will to learn together, envision and grow together to building a more thriving community. - Encouraging and engaging the youths to purpose, thereby discouraging laziness, youth restiveness and crimes. - Building a community of young potentials solving one global problems or the other (the SDGs). - Creating a bridge to Go Global through our global opportunities linkages. Our activities so far have ranged from collaborating with our partners to organize on-site/physical trainings like techy Software/App Development, UX/UI Designs, Google Digital skills, and Business Development, Public Speaking/Capacity Building, Leadership, to our Online/WhatApp Webinars, introduction and participation in global opportunities as well as hosting competitions. The innovation here is our use of the social media to carry out most of our activities. As a youth based platform, and mostly students, more than 85% are compliant so the best tool became the social media and our best bet in financial aid is partnership. We also benefit from co working spaces OnCampus and by partners to host our physical activities. And these have been helping us in self-sponsoring our activities and still striding with tremendous success records.
Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
The Impact Circle has impacted so much to the sustainable development of our community, despite that fact, we know of how important it is to measure our successes, milestones and achievements. We are a work in - progress and in as much as we have bigger plans in this journey; we gauge our success by: - Especially being accountable to know if how much money coming in is really corresponding with our target impact yields, and also able to hold up for a while. - How fair enough are our customer satisfactions? And I tell you, that the feedbacks and reviews from these young people are what keep us going all out for more. To me, I call it, empathy because I felt same way sometime before I realized that this way is a solution. - Again, the turn up to join is also encouraging. That means that we are not playing around, and the impacts are really relevant. Hence, weve made some achievements worthy of note, like: - Hosted Hult [email protected] OnCampus program with 17 registered teams - 12 running businesses - 4 business ideas undergoing incubation at Heartland Incubation Hub, Oluaka Institute, Owerri - Our Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) training/participation yielded a TEF Entrepreneur with $5,000 grant - 2 International Universities Scholarships - 2 IAAC International Science Competition success stories - 10+ job and Interns placements - 3 members presently undergoing Google Digital Skills for Africa Certifications - 1 YALI Fellow, and 4 YALI Network members - 2 teams selected and participated at the UN partnered Hult Prize Regional Summits in Abuja, Nigeria and Accra, Ghana respectively - 14+ SDG projects submitted for the Millennium Fellowship of the Millennium Campus Network (Class 2019) by members - 3 members elected into leadership offices at their various Departments/Faculties, and more.
Sustainability and future plans
The Impact Circle will by the next two years become one of the biggest human capital/career development firms around for supporting and empowering young persons who desire or pursue to be entrepreneurs, professionals or leaders. This will come in the form of growing our network, number base and partnerships to build the platform into a thriving community where like-minds and higher executives will continue to share information, opportunities and help tips, and leverage same to inspire and give purpose to young minds, they become empowered, make progress and scale in business, civic leadership, public management, etc. By that we will have a succeeding youth - based economy and when re - absorbed into our communities and Africa, will speed up the transformation and future we all want for ourselves. Only then, can we say that Africa is succeeding, with the rest of the world. We plan: - To open an Incubation Hub per excellence to help further to alleviate the problem of inadequate support structure, mentorship system for incubating or developing business ideas by young people around here - Owerri. - Further in our prospects, is to become one of the biggest crowd funding platforms around to help ease the present hardship facing young scalable and sustainable businesses to launch and grow.
