Back 2 School Transformation
Explain your project in details:
We are committed to providing a conducive learning environment in schools in rural Africa. We aim to successfully provide adequate school supplies, equipment, and facilities to many schools in Africa. We plan on doing so by conducting fundraising and events to raise money throughout the year. To involve the Nigerian community in the village we will have an educational event with students, teachers, and the community.
Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
In December 2018, I had the privilege to visit my village of Avutu, Obowo located in Imo State, Nigeria. During my visit, I was able to organize a back to school event during which I distributed many school supplies such as backpacks, story books, writing materials, etc to over 200 school kids in the village. Currently, I am still collecting donations to continue our mission.
Sustainability and future plans
The team will continue efforts to reach our goal of $8,000-$10,000 by next year to renovate and reconstruct the classrooms and continue to plan and organize the yearly Back 2 School Event. The next phase will be to install ceilings, conduct electrical work, painting inside and outside the classrooms, door and window replacement, and tiling to the floors. In line with our mission of transforming rural schools inside and out.
