Biofire recycles agroforest waste into solid biofuel such as wood briquette, coal, compressed coal and biochar, efficient cheap and ecofriendly for cooking and heating needs. Our business aim is to give people access to cheaper energy solution and save forests that continue to dwindle due to inefficient use of wood fuel. Bio fuel product can be used in fireplaces, barbeque, wooden oven and it is safer and much cleaner compared to the traditional one
Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
Give people access to a cheap and clean energy solution We provide wood briquette and coal for cooking needs cheaper than gas or electricity for people in rural area and restaurant. KPIs: Number of beneficiaries= +200 % reductions of costs (affordability) 25% Fighting deforestation. We save forests that continue to dwindle due to inefficient use of wood fuel by providing an alternative solution such as wood briquette. we recycled more than 1000 Tones of waste. Give farmers and wood factory extra revenue from selling their waste to the company. We are recycling the waste of 5 wood factory and 20 farmers. Create a job opportunity for collectors. We gave a job opportunities to 5 collectors each collectors team composed minimum of 2 personas and they dealing with wood factory and farmers and they collect the waste from landfill. KPIs: Number of people employed=12
Sustainability and future plans
the project is self funded. Our main clients are pizza restaurants bbq restaurant guest houses, shisha café and local communities. We make money by selling our products and we are selling 70% b2b and 30% b2c. So far we have over 500 users 200 clients and 50 partners. We started our activity in 2015, we were awarded last year by the national energy glob award. We were chosen by the WEF as one of the 100 Arab start-ups shaping the Fourth Industrial Revolution and 1 of the top 5 startups in Magreb.Besides, we are selling in Tunisia and Italy. We are reaching our client by direct selling free samples and free delivery. Our selling goes from 80k Tunisian Dinars in 2015. to 130k Tunisian Dinars in 2018 and we are estimating 180k Dinars in 2019. With total sales 430k dinars in 4 years. All the profits are reinvested for scaling.

Radhouan Ayadi, 31 years old Tebourba, TUNISIA Radhouan has Ten years experiences in a profit sector, also four years of experiences in a nonprofit sector. He earned a License in IT Applied to Management from the Superior School of Commerce of Tunis. He is currently the co-founder and executive director of Biofire a startup that is valuing agro-forestry waste as a renewable energy source. He is the general director and founder of ABS an HR agency where he got to develop excellent time management and organizational skills. He was the administrative and financial officer of Chanouf Company. He is currently accompanying young social entrepreneurs with the RISE program founded by UNIDO and CRT Foundation. He participated in several international programs on green and social entrepreneurship with organizations such as UNIDO. He is an International Youth Ambassador with the Nepal Youth Parliament. He was an active member of AISEC where he had the experiences to be in the organization committee for national event, and he is the treasurer of JST a local football team since 2017 where he was managing all the accounting of the club. His top skills are creative thinking, leadership, risk-taking, strong work ethic, and decision making. He is passion about social entrepreneurship and aims to create a positive impact on his society by promoting agro forestry waste as a source of renewable energy.
