Feitosa Gourmet is a startup, sustainable foodtech that develops and produces banana-based products. We use direct organic bananas from producers, which are out of the commercial pattern and very ripe. We process these fruits and make sauces as Ketchup, Barbecue, Banana Jam, Banana Condiments and Spicy Sauces. Gluten free, Lac free, zero preservatives and chemicals, 100% natural and fair trade. Feitosa Gourmet sauces are healthy, natural, tasty and sustainable follow the ODS from UN objectives. We produce sauces and we develop banana-based products the most beloved fruit in the world. with the aim of reducing waste, benefiting producers and bringing to the consumer an innovative, tasty and healthy product. We reinvent our brand with the idea of being closer to the countryside and cities by creating a bridge between the two channels. The banana for being tropical and a super food was our product chosen to make our sauces and other projects using the banana.
Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
Our activities support more than 300 bananas producers families, and we have goals to increase this numbers. We buy their bananas very ripe and out of commercial standards, decreasing the wasting number in the banana farm. In our manufacture who is outsourced, we use 100% of bananas including the skins, because they are organic.
Sustainability and future plans
Our plans in the near future are: Share our business model with other foodtechs startups inside and outside Brazil. Reduce banana waste locally and share new projects with other locations, generating positive and sustainable impacts. Educate new entrepreneurs between the countryside and cities by monetizing family farmers and their projects against hunger. - Grow globally with our sustainable initiative by being a positive example and encouraging others through banana and conscious and sustainable food. - Donate bananas to Ong's and Primary schools who needs food support and select embassor to educate about bananas and how important they are. (locally)After they can open a locall project to process food waste, bananas or other fruits.
Your profile as an entrepreneur
I have been an entrepreneur since 2011 when I sold pâtés, sauces and antipasti in my work on glasses. My first big deal was to do small events in houses, cooking small portions and even menus. in 2015 opened Feitosa Foodtruck, served Poutine, Canadian dish with a very Brazilian touch, using cassava and local products. In addition I was already producing banana ketchup, but only to supplement my burgers' recipes. But the market ended up losing strength in this type of business and I ended up closing. in 2016 I began to structure Feitosa Gourmet, producing other sauces besides Banana Ketchup. I participated in Shark Tank Brasil showing my motivation about making a product without preservative and natural. In 2017 I was able to formally open Feitosa Gourmet focusing on sustainability and a real product, with origin and without generating negative impacts.
