Legacy Accelerated Christian Academy is a K+12 accredited Christian academe anchored on the values of excellence, integrity, and legacy. It is founded on the vision of Irene Tobias and Luis Tobias. This institution is geographically located in Cabiao Nueva Ecija where the mode of transportation is through walking, service or by jeepney. It is open from preparatory school to high school. The unique value proposition of this project is that it focuses values and real-life exercises. Where their underlying principle is "No child is left behind" as they strive to excellence not just academically but also by being part of shaping a child's future.
Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
This enterprise has played a big role on sustainable development as it aims to achieve quality education- By promoting digital education, it contributes the rise of literacy rates in rural areas. This harnesses affordable, reliable and context-sensitive education that prioritizes values-based education. It is a diverse institution that builds equal access to education for all people regardless of age, gender, social status. As they eradicate these social gap by ensuring every child has access to high quality content. Hence, this empowers the youth with technical and creative skills and of course their interpersonal and intrapersonal skills..
Sustainability and future plans
Legacy would like to expand its target audience by focusing on SPED students as well. This is an opportunity built for occupational therapy-based applicants in special needs of children such as autism. In addition, in line with its core values, specifically excellence they would like to expand their educational system by having senior high school students Grades 11 & 12 with academic strands such as (ABM, STEM, and HUMSS) to become competitive with other institutions across their region, the country, and be recognized globally for this academic milestone. They would like to add-up their current extra-curricular offerings such as Judo, Ballet, Arts, Taekwondo, Camping, Museum Visits, Music Sessions to have an interactive bond.
Your profile as an entrepreneur
James Cerrero is a 17-year old BS Accountancy student. He was first exposed to politics and economy. He has been a writer for History of Royal Women, Royal Writers, Oxford Writers House, Society of Authors and Cambridge Writers.He broadened his knowledge as an entrepreneur and leader through his participation as a National Youth Congress delegate and quiz bee finalist which was held at the University of the Philippines, he was exposed to key issues on the countrys economy with other young scholars across the country. He was really passionate in fighting health problems so he began an investigatory project entitled Bridges and Social Constraints of the Picture Exchange Communication System towards People with Autism focusing on people with Autism Spectrum Disorder and improving their communication. He designed the PPECS application into an open way how it can help improve interactive communication whereas he launched his own prototype in play store. In his final year in High School, he generated a capstone project and it is the OMG Drinks which can solve health-related issues such as hypertension, diabetes, and obesity. As a youth representative, he was nominated in various prestigious international awards such as CSR Youth Awards, International Service-Learning Practitioner Award, Nobel Peace Prize, and Global Youth Awards.Currently, he is a member of the International Youth Council and the World Youth Asia Alliance and he is publishing his research materials entitled Contemporary Analysis of the Role the Philippine Government in Economic Growth which was submitted to University of Oxford and Cambridge University and accepted in the 2018 international research symposium at Prague, Czech Republic. Also, Shaping the World of Obesity: A Living Psychological Enemy which was submitted to Harvard. He is also doing his short film and other product endorsements. Reaching for the DIANA 2019 nomination.
