Photography and landscapes
Explain your project in details:
The project included the use of photogeography as a technique for recording landscapes, since the junction between Geography and Photography makes it possible to leave the usual field of the classroom and expand the horizons for the active construction of knowledge. Thus, the work sought to promote a workshop on techniques and basic principles of photographic composition; recognize the photography techniques used in individual trials and photos; to photograph landscapes from the techniques studied in the classroom; and disseminate photographic practices to be used daily by the student. The project was dismembered in phases: the first stage involved the realization of a photography workshop, in which basic techniques of photographic composition were worked; the later stage comprised a field trip, exploring the surroundings of the school and the living space of the pupil, in order to put into practice the techniques learned to capture the best images; the third phase included the presentation of the photos to the entire target audience, valuing hits and recognizing failures; and finally, after an internal selection, the best photographs were selected, out of a total of 68, exhibited in the school unit from the 'I Photo Gallery', an event disseminated in the communication vehicles, in order to disseminate the students' productions and to recognize their valuable 'clicks', a way to streamline teaching and expand the horizon of knowledge.
Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
The photographic practice was an instrument to understand the relevance of the conservation of landscapes and their relationship with society, especially in a historical moment in which the human being has acted ruthlessly on the Environment, directly influencing the use of natural resources. As an educator, I believe that the school environment is the adequate space for fostering socio-environmental attitudes, since the school is the institution capable of promoting the formation of individuals who are critical and sensitized to the cause. Based on this assumption, the Cleonice Soares da Fonsêca State College, located in Boquim-SE, adopted the environmental cause, spreading the relevance of sustainability in order to contribute to social well-being in the medium and long term.
Sustainability and future plans
The experience described can and should serve as a basis for my colleagues, not only in geography, but also in the most varied disciplines, as a way to stimulate knowledge, since photography is a unique resource and its use encompasses several spheres of the same way it ensures satisfaction and effectiveness of the teaching-learning process. But for this, it is necessary to get out of the comfort and comfort zone, because every project, regardless of its nature, requires motivation and dedication, and this is something very particular, characteristics of who really wants to make a difference in education.
