Levithai - more than an ecologic clothing brand - social, environmental and cultural projects
Explain your project in details:
When it comes to a brand, many people take part and accept the beliefs of the company when they wear its products. We use our inuence among the youth to dialogue and call their attention to worrying issues and how to fight them. Our brand uses only organic or recicled fabrics, compared to conventional clothing, our environmental impact is can be reduced up to 90 percent. One of our projects aims the awareness and reduction of the deforestation, so, for every sale we plant a tree. Weve already planted over 145 trees and we have over 100 more waiting for the proper place and season to be planted. This project draws the attention of several people from the region and the plantings are open to the public, this way we generate more visibility and engagement from families, children and people in general. As the brand starts to grow, this project can be expanded to other places and the event can become not only about planting, but a whole day of awareness and cleaning. In regards to the social area, our intention is to organize big paradigm breaking events, bringing up debates hosted by people engaged in social movements, generating prejudice breaking, showing that its possible to make dierence by ourselves and always praising the local culture with concerts and group presentations, always foccusing on organizing a Green event. We also want to expand the projects that incentivate scientic research to a bigger amount of schools, bringing fun lectures, rich in content and made by respect people (teachers, researchers, nonconformists, idealizers and activists), awakening the curiosity of young people in search of susteinable solutions to our planets problems, therefore collaborantig with life as a whole.
Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
During this two years of company most of work was made by one person with other occupation in a half of this time. Today levithai is focused on increase and make the change by inspiring people to think about the environment and changing our local reality. We use our contacts to promote seminars to encourage scientic research in a technical school of our region, wich is the organizer of MOSTRATEC, the biggest Science fair of Latin America. - helped to organize the World Cleanup Day in our city.
Sustainability and future plans
For the future we want to continue our work but, in order to achieve the ODSs 1-2-3-5-8-12, our project is making mobile confectionery centers, well buy machines and products for de confection of our brand's clothes. People will be taught and encouraged to work, by being paid for their work, fairly, with social fairness, making positive difference in the life of the employees and the local community. For teaching, well ask volunteers fashion students to apply their knowledge of the course, get experience and do volunteer work. The idea can be extended for the job of press shop, deppending of amount of people and the demand. During the journey, kids and teenagers will be invited to workshops, starting from the thought that education is the solution to many problems. Issues and lessons about agriculture, sustainability, gender equality and arts (music, dance, graffiti and more) will be introduced to them. We'll provide financial education class to the participants, to create bank account and the project would be presented to companies in the region with the intention of hiring participants.
Your profile as an entrepreneur
When I was younger, I was questioned about how we could make the world better, and I have got the answer that it depends only on ourselves. So, I grew up with an nonconformist spirit, questioning and fighting for everything I believe to be fair. I did volunteer work at school, participated of the students guild in a federal school with students from over 20 different cities, graduated as eletrical technician, worked with state eletrical projects and food industry. Nowadays, I study production engineering. Im also a travel monitor, a Google local guide and idealizer and founder of Levithai. I believe that sustainable efforts make difference, I am a dedicaded person with what I love and I want to make a difference in the world, even just in my country or region. I have the consience of the many bad impacts from fashion industries but also the faith that a clothing brand can make the world a better place to live, we want to change it, we are young and willing to start a revolution in this way.
