the idea of the academy is to create a more diverse space where we tackle many social challenges that our community is faced with , mainly focusing on Arts and education .. we chose these two segments to Promote and enhance young talents, focusing on young pre-rehabilitated drug users, and equip them with an increased level of skills that will develop their artistic skills, social and emotional competencies in their chosen art form.
Sustainability and future plans
My arts and musical academy is an organization targeted at the youth. After school I provide a platform for learning different types of creative and performing arts as well as providing educational support to those that need it . As diverse as the artistic world is , the project provides skills development for indigenous musicians , that will translate into the ability to create sustainable livelihood and job opportunities within the music industry. On the Music segment we have 3 different choirs with close to 60 participants. We also have solo artists. After school we give poetry lessons to learners. On the dancing side we have close to 25 people participating in various types of dancing styles. The ages of all the people involved in our musical academy range from 9 to 30 years old . for fund raising we host different types of competitions which involve all the community and music shows , choir festivals and we depend on donations from individuals , businessess and government sector , as the organisation is rapidly growing we seek a facility were we will expand our learning programmes in a more suitable learning environment.
