Energy as a service model
Explain your project in details:
Our energy as a service model for business facilities helps to curb emissions from generators largely produced by businesses. We engineer off-grid renewable energy projects for business facilities to provide energy to their business housed in their facility to pay as a service charge. This provides 24 hour electricity for businesses, ensure cheaper electricity cost for the businesses, creates profit for facility owners, reduces noise in business environments, reduces carbon emissions from generators and ultimately raises the ease of doing business in the country.
Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
In 2017, this day newspaper estimated that 5 trillion naira was spent on diesel and fuel for generators in Nigeria. That is equivalent to $13 billion US dollars, with over 50% spent by businesses. Our solution addresses the need for business to have 24-hour electricity and reduce the overheads spent on sourcing for self-generated technologies. From our market research, a plaza such as Murg plaza in Abuja currently houses about 117 generators. Each gallon of diesel fuel produces, on average, 10,084 g of CO2, or about 22.2 lb. These generators are owned by small business owners. Also the resultant noise pollution makes an unfriendly business atmosphere. we hope to grant businesses access to steady power and increase the ease of doing business in the country
Sustainability and future plans
Tardigrade plans to dominate the renewable energy space. We see a future were the model of energy generation and distribution will be one of grid connection from renewable sources with a feed-in-system from residential and commercial users. We will move into other forms such as biomass and wind as they are energy sources with huge potentials in the region. We are currently adopting raising finances for our projects from banks, investors and crowd funding sources. We plan to scale to other parts of the country and africa
