Best Ideas 2020 features all the nominated entries submitted under ‘Submit your Idea’ category. All the entries consist of innovative solutions or propositions for an enterprise that champions the Sustainable Development Goals. They can be on the conceptual, planning, or start-up stage.
The main objective of my proposed idea is to provide an effective, fast, and user-friendly diagnostic test for bradykinesia, a disorder that affects approximately 98% of Parkinson\'s Disease (PD) patients and involves slowness of movement, thus making everyday tasks difficult, such as brushing ones teeth. Diagnosing bradykinesia could lead to potentially earlier diagnosis of PD, thus leading to better health outcomes (i.e. slowed progression of the loss of movement, using dopamine treatment). The diagnostic test is unique in its approach because it combines a ball (containing sensors) with a mobile application. The ball would measure the movements of a persons hand, and then record this data on a mobile application. The mobile application would utilize an algorithm to develop a scale to determine the likelihood of a patient having bradykinesia. Following this, the patient would receive a possible diagnosis for bradykinesia, and guidance to possibly seek out the care of a physician. In addition, the diagnostic test would ideally take only a couple minutes to complete each day, thus being convenient to use. Possible patients of bradykinesia would be able to use the test in an out-patient setting - whether at home, school, etc. instead of only in a hospital setting. The diagnostic test is designed to be non-invasive, quick, inexpensive, and usable in an out-patient setting - four defining characteristics that would allow for earlier diagnoses and improved treatment outcomes.
Through my idea, POWER UP, I will be creating a comprehensive device to provide immediate safety to women. This device will contain the essential features that are required in the case of an emergency situation, for instance, if a woman feels an unsafe touch or feels surrounded by men or faces any other dangerous situation, she can simply:
1. Press the button once to contact the nearby police station which will be detected using GPS configurations.
2. In order to alert the public or to seek immediate help from the people nearby, she can press the device twice to set off an alarm .
3. She will be able to activate a location tracker when traveling to new places, the data of which will be available to the emergency contacts on the POWER UP app.
This product can be made available in various forms ranging from watches, pendants and bracelets to small patches which are easily attachable on the inside of the lowers that the woman is wearing. The last option has the provision of being hidden, yet worn, which will be suitable for various occasions. Such items will be slightly costlier keeping in mind the option of customizable designs. For rural/poorer women, this device can be facilitated in the form of a low-cost ring.
This product can be followed by a POWER UP tool kit which will consist of women safety and hygiene essentials: a mini-pepper spray, tiny deodorant and a sanitary napkin(all of which will be recyclable). This kit is going to be really small, thus can be carried easily in a purse/bag anywhere.
The purpose of this project is to utilize drones in order to deliver medical supplies and food to vulnerable people without them having to leave their buildings where risk of contamination is much higher. The problem with the modern methods of food delivery is that the food is transported through multiple checkpoints. Each checkpoint means exposure to more people, meaning more likelihood of virus contamination before the food item in question even reaches the store. The fact of food and medical supplies being transported on a truck and then to store means that there are more opportunities for any virus to intercept and contaminate the product before it reaches the end consumer. This is especially problematic for at-risk populations such as elderly and those with underlying health conditions. By using drones that use neural networks to recognize objects, food and medical supplies can be transmitted directly to the consumer, reducing the possibility of contamination. This is especially useful for people who are house-bound or not able to go to the grocery store. The drones will use neural networks made using TensorFlow (neural networks in Python) in order to recognize the appropriate delivery spots for the food and medical supplies.

Creating a relief panel is a startup specializing in the processing of foam waste, which aims to implement zero waste and sustainable cities and communities and thus improve the ecological situation of Kazakhstan since the problem of pollution with the rubbish dumps (especially with plastic) is highly acute. It is planned to be done by creating a panel, which in turn will be used as an insulator and will be sold at a very competitive price. The project includes the creation of the polystyrene collection point, from where the polystyrene will be delivered to the place where it will be crushed and then mixed with gypsum.

Information regarding farming of the three main stages such as input, process, and output is taught to school children. Maldives agriculture is widely dependent on the fishes and water uses which gave us the idea of using an innovative approach known as sustainable crop production which creates an agricultural production where the environment of biodiversity and quality of agricultural crops aren\'t harmed. Another innovative approach is using hydrogen fuel for transportation vehicles of the photo tree containers. In order to yield the crops, organic fertilizers would be used instead of chemical fertilizers to keep the vegetables fresh. Soil fertility is a crucial factor in farming as found in our research which determined that the Maldives needed the allocated resources but due to climate changes it was difficult to do so.
The main objective of my idea is to sustainable growth of the crops, Conservation of Biodiversity, climate change mitigation (avoiding use of DDT). Pakistan is the agricultural country and highly use fertilizers and pesticides that can harm soil, plant and environment. My idea can increase the fertility of crops and avoid attack of the pests, rather do not release any harmful gases to the environment.

I want to hold interactive meetings at schools for students, where they can receive the information they need to know about their mental health and what it can go through, and the resources available to them in helping them cope with it. This would be done more in developed countries, as they already have a base when it comes to mental health information.
I also want to send ambassadors to developing countries, or have them host meetings through an online platform, to deliver the information about the topics surrounding mental health, and the impact that a fluctuating mental health can have in their lives.
I really want to stress the importance of taking care of you mental health to these people, so I also want to hold interactive events where they can witness testimonials from people who have experienced, and are comfortable talking about, their struggle with their mental health.
Application of recharge system to electricity pulses are a new breakthrough for the electricity pulse recharging system. For the initial stage of the experiment on how this system works, it is the same as the cellphone pulse recharging system. However, there are slight changes to the electricity meter or often called KWH, the change is in the form of a redesign of the KWH of all electricity users in Indonesia by adding a chip or small card containing a number and other unique codes needed for the recharging system.
The purpose of implementing this system is to make it easier for the public to recharge their electric pulses without having to enter a token number again so that when the community hands over a number that has been connected by the server to the KWH system, the electric pulse is entered automatically.

Thrift Bank is a social enterprise which collects a donation of second-hand stuff such as clothes, shoes, bags and books. Thrift Bank will clean, iron, and use eco-packaging to resell the donation so that the price will be affordable. This idea gives advantage to the both parties, the donator and the customer. The donator will feel satisfied because they can make a value of their second-hand things. And the customer will get a good product with affordable price.
The income will be divided into three sections:
First is donation. 50% of the income will be using to finance the street children.
Second is operational. 30% of the income will be using to operate the enterprise for the cleaning product, picking up the stuffs from the donator, packaging and delivering the order.

The Democratic Republic of The Congo is potentially rich in terms of natural resources that can be exploited in a manner that ensures a sustainable and profitable development. However, despite the population estimated at hundred million, there is shortage of expertise on which the country can rely to turn potential into wealth. Considering my experience in learning management, I am developing an E-learning platform that will aim to equip the younger population with relevant skills to boost the country development. The website is expected to accommodate thousands users that will be given opportunity to enroll to several courses grouped into different skills areas including but not limited to: (1)-entrepreneurship, (2)-environment protection ; (3)-mining industry ; (4) Hygiene, Health & Safety; (5) Secondary School last year learning programs with set of previous years exercises that students can practice so they are ready for secondary school exit exams.

The central objective of my idea is that University students from all over Brazil participate in groups and together with professors and researchers they elaborate lectures, contents and ebooks that are made available to the community.

Agri-hydraulics Ltd is providing high-quality milking bikes, full service milk collection, processing and distribution services. We plan to offer our milking bike that can perform the following activities: milking refrigeration transportation and a computerized farm data storage. Agri-Hydraulics Ltd is an early stage company that is prototyping a hydraulic bike that will be able to do the following key activities: milking, refrigeration, transportation of milk (50 litres) and a computerised farm record. This bike does not use petrol but it uses hydraulic engine.
With a computer - based interface the bike is able to send information to farmers on disease presence through mastitis checker sensors, marketing information, and can be used by farmers for running of the smart dairy farm. Equipped with this sensor technology, the bike is able observe and to control the milking process. Data is automatically stored in a database and the farmer has a management program to control the settings and conditions for cows to be milked. Attention lists and reports are presented to the farmer by screen or web and mobile messages. With these sensors the bike systems collect enormous amounts of data, which have to be processed with the installed Agri-hydraulic software.
Social Distancing is going to be the new normal, whether a cure for the covid-19 is found or not, the global health pandemic we just witnessed will change the way the world does business and operates. Grocery shopping remained an essential service during the pandemic, because people have to eat to live, however we can only imagine how many people got the virus from shopping or from serving customers. In the wake of the 4th Industrial revolution technology will decide how we do things and this will include grocery shopping.
The main objective of this initiative is to avoid crowds during shopping; in as much as ecommerce is growing in Africa it faces a lot of logistical and trust problems. The idea is to have kiosks on main roads so that people can make grocery orders on their way home and pick them up from the kiosks on the way home. This can be done on an app or through a USSD connection. The same concept can be applied by major grocery stores to have a drive through window and people can make advance orders and pick up from the drive through windows.
Clients can register either through an app or through USSD technology, and clients will have to make orders at least 15-30 minutes before collection to allow for the order to be packaged and ready for pick-up. Like other similar apps clients will have an option to pay using the app, mobile money or cash on collection.
My innovation is to give affordable energy and electricity to everyone but also doing it in a manner that is good for the environment. I am trying to produce a pannel like design that catches triboelectricity (Friction) and converts it into usable energy and electricity. I have approached this idea, by testing and learning. My plans for the future are testing on computers, roads, shoes, and even the Friction on Rockets. However, my biggest goal is to give everyone access to electricity and the Internet, to connect with family and friends, To do online school, and for things such as heating and cooling. Empower Microfinance (EM) is a mobile application that connects women from under-deserved communities to lenders for microloans without requiring collateral. It focuses on empowering underserved female entrepreneurs who are denied access to traditional banking services. By doing so, these female entrepreneurs are able to take advantage of income-generating activities to help sustain the livelihoods of their families and communities. This not only contributes to society through the alleviation of poverty but also puts a strong emphasis on closing gender inequality through its focus on offering financial opportunities to female entrepreneurs. The objective for this program is simple, to maintain productivity for cow farmers in the short-term also to pursue stability within their financial aspects in the long-term. To achieve the objectives, we have made some rules to make sure everything goes in the right direction. We want them to build a group of farmers whom trust each other, and give them some amount of money to buy cows for themselves. But we don\'t give the whole money so they can buy 1 cow each, instead, we spare the money. Lets say if we have $5000 for 5 members in a group, we will only give them $3000 so they can buy 3 cows - for 3 members only. The group decides on who will get the first 3 cows. The other 2 shall wait and see the progress of these cows, thus we can have our own monitoring system. Make sure none is doing anything wrong. Then after some time (approx. 3-6 months), these 3 cows can be harvested (either for the meat or milk) and the selling money will be split with the second party (our NGO). The farmers will decide how much the split percentages will be (usually around 60:40, or even 70:30). Lets say for an example, we bought the cows for $3000 and sold it for $4500. These money will be split. We divide the $3000 to buy another 3 cows, and the profit of $1500 will be split (either $900 for the farmers : $600 for the NGO, or $1050 for the farmers : $450 for the NGO). The money for the NGO goes for operational costs (transportation mainly). The farmers can look for another 3 cows and they will decide who to take care of them. The same process continues.

However, women who suffer facial deformities at birth or due to burns, acid attacks, or accidents, do not feel that they belong in society. The effect of a culture that judges women based on their outward appearance has a devastating effect on their confidence, social interactions, and others measures of their worth.
HERs main objectives are instilling confidence in women who suffer facial deformities. We will achieve this through setting up workshops at various womens foundations across Thailand. Participants will receive a beauty kit which will include skincare and makeup products that are personalized to each recipients condition. Concealers to hide scars, together with soothing aloe vera and scar-healing gels to heal scars will be provided within the kit. For women with severe injuries, HER will help cover costs for reconstructive surgery. Money used for the products and reconstructive surgeries will be earned through the HER online store which sells similar skincare and makeup products under the one-for-one model.
HER workshops will teach women how to apply these skincare and beauty products to hide and heal their facial scars. Workshops will be led by student volunteers who received pre-training from a professional makeup artist. As a result, our workshops can incorporate both women with facial deformities and women interested in learning skills for future employment. Student volunteers will teach women how to use products inside their beauty kits, as well as basic make-up application techniques.

Recyclear is an environmental technology startup that aims to unite communities to collectively protect the environment to minimize waste production and maximize recycling output by leveraging machine learning object recognition and cloud computing. We present an intelligent automated waste sorter that easily, quickly, and effectively segregates waste items between recycling and trash.
After a user places a waste item into the trash can, a snapshot of the object is taken by a small, high-definition camera and computer vision algorithms created using the Python Tensorflow framework classify the item as either recycling or trash with high accuracy. Items are physically segregated by a fast tilting mechanism into a recycling or trash bin, which are easily removable from the sides of the trashcan.
Our extensive testing indicated that the intelligent classification algorithm generally outperformed an average person\'s ability to segregate their waste. If connected to Wi-Fi, the trashcan can increase its classification speed by performing its calculations on Google\'s Cloud Platform, but it can still perform within an acceptable speed margin without WiFi due to the computational power offered by the Raspberry Pi 4 onboard.

Climate change is putting coffee production and the livelihoods of 25 million coffee farmers and their families globally at risk. Meanwhile, Indonesia with 2.33 million coffee smallholders is predicted to stop exporting coffee in 2035 since local production can only meet domestic consumption. To improve smallholder coffee farmers capacity to adapt and mitigate climate change, this project provides integrated solutions implemented at both on-farm and off-farm with socioeconomic and technical/environmental interventions. The implementation employs integrated methods, namely: (1) Soft skills education, (2) Institutional strengthening, (3) Environmental and technical education (hard skills) on Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA), and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), and (5) Livelihoods improvement. Institutional strengthening facilitates farmers business entity establishment. Different types of waste shall be handled differently. Paper and carton based waste shall be recycled into toilet paper. Plastic based waste shall be recycled into home cleaning tools e.g. brooms, trash bags and waste bins. Organic based waste shall be processed into planting cones, manure and biogas. Metals, wood and other non-recyclable waste shall be sold to scrap metal collectors, moulded into fire blocks for heating, and compressed or ground.

In this project, we propose a system that is very hygienic and cheap that uses Artificial Intelligence algorithms for the detection of the garbage. Once the garbage is detected the system calculates the position of the garbage by the use of the camera only. The proposed system is capable of distinguishing between valuables and garbage with more than 95% confidence in real-time. Finally, a robotic arm controlled by the microcontroller is used to pick up the garbage and places it in the bin. Concluding, the project explains a system that is capable of working as a human in terms of inspecting and collecting the garbage. The waste management systems which the researchers also referred to as automatic garbage detection and collection consists of a dozer, frame of the boat, collecting basket and a box encasing all the other important components. For the boat to be equipped with artificial intelligence, several machine learning algorithms are used. The system uses convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for detecting garbage and the position of garbage is calculated using a camera. The position of garbage is then fed to a Microcontroller which then essentially controls the navigation of the boat. Object detection is done using TensorFlow(A python library used for Neural networks) and NumPy(another python library used for computation of arrays). The Object Detection API will be deployed using a Raspberry Pi integrated with a Pi camera. Autonomous Navigation is achieved using rudders and air propulsion which is
controlled using a microcontroller. To collect the garbage, a dozer connected to 2 arms, which are hinged by servo
motors, and load is calculated by the IR Sensor.

If I wish to define spirituality in my own words, I would simply say, its something that talks about us, the humans. Theistically speaking, I believe Creator didn\'t make us the best amongst the creation for no reason. We all human were born to fulfil some purpose on this world, a life mission that\'s just as unique as we individually are. But sadly, the lack of self-love got us stuck to some evil orthodox pattern of toxicity, which is killing people\'s soul long before their physical body expire.
Allow me to rephrase it differently. If the psychological aspects of unhappy people are taken under consideration, we will see them complaining. As in they were running from one to another materialistic metrics to find true happiness, but still felt empty. There is this idea of \"perfection\" that kept people so deluded, that at times they get so blinded to achieve power or some sort of a superiority in order to receive love and approval, that they end up hating themselves when they fail to get that power. Like, people forgetting their own soul-purpose only to AVOID painful judgement.
Jimi Hendrix once said, When the power of love will overcome the love of power, the world will know peace. I truly believe in that saying. And indeed, true love starts with loving oneself. If were able to practice self-love from such a young age, maybe we won\'t grow up as such judgmental, envious, jealous, nihilistic or narcissistic adults, but will know to work out and appreciate our difference with love and appreciation, as EMPATHS. Food wastage in India is happening at different levels: from harvesting, transporting, processing, packaging and consuming. My aim is to reduce food wastage at consumption level. Management of waste is a major issue for any restaurants. Unlike 5 or 4-star hotel restaurants, standalone don\'t have specific garbage-controlled rooms. At the end of the day, the food waste is picked up by the municipality and gets dumped in the land field.
The objective is to reduce the food wastage at consumption level. Foodys will work like any other food delivery app, but that doesn\'t make it like other delivery apps. Establishing a sustainable chain of recycling centres focused on the re-utilisation of coltan present in unusable and antique electronic devices such as phones, laptops and lithium-ion batteries. These centres would pay up to 10% of the product value and then proceed to extract the coltan and other rare earth metals, such as gold, silver and/or copper. The extracted materials would then be processed and sold to electronics and optics suppliers for their subsequent reuse. Since, when refined, coltan produces metallic tantalum, a material whose consumption is highly demanded in the electronics industry preventing batteries from overheating by regulating temperatures.
In the short-term, the main focus would be on regional small to medium sized OEM manufacturers for lower scale production to refine the unit economics and grow organically. Hence, our goal with the Orange Peel Detergent is to start to relieve stress on the landfills, by starting to divert the location of our orange peels. This product would likely influence other products, formed from utilizable landfill waste, to be taken into the market. This would slowly reduce the methane emissions from landfills to a controllable amount.

Only 250 certified sign language interpreters exist throughout the nation which comes to a ratio of 1:7200. Projects/Devices like gloves cant be affordable by normal people due to high cost. Smart Communicator is an Artificial Intelligence(AI) based web-application for blind, deaf-mute people, which offers low-cost, superior approach and easy to use solution for communication. It includes:
1) For deaf-mute people Audio/Text to Sign language and Sign language into Text/Speech: The framework provides a helping-hand for speech-impaired to communicate with the rest of the world using sign language. The input will be given in form of Text/Audio to the web-application and after submitting input, the video of sign language will be shown to the deaf-mute people based on input.
2) For Blind Smart Reader and Voice based E-mail and calling System
For reading, it will accept a page of printed text book, producing an image document. Once the image is preprocessed, it will be converted into digital text document. Finally, the text is readout by text to speech conversion. This document can be downloaded and later converted to speech and read aloud to the user through a speaker.

The recent increasing rate of unhappiness that spread and affect millions of people around the world and particularly Nigerian have made my innovative idea \"Music For Masses\" to stem out in order to fix the wicked problems bin Nigerians society, especially in fighting the Boko Haram and kidnapping of young girls across Nigeria for more than six years now, since the incidence was recorded on 14th April, 2014 at Government Secondary Girls\' College-Chibok in Borno State where 276 girls were abducted and sadness spread across those 276 families and relatives\' faces. In fact, this has degraded well-being in humans. In addition to the urgent need to provide temporary job opportunities for young people and to benefit from their capabilities and State in working with their local communities, especially in light of the deteriorating health situation of the country. With my startup, I am currently initiating and designing my entrepreneurial laboratory by training young kids especially from aged 5 above, especially the females being the leading young teenage sustainable and equitable leader.

I and my Music team are anticipating our life\'s work to trigger out because aim to cover two out of six religions in Nigeria before December 10, 2020. That would be by providing temporary job opportunities for more than 23 young kids at least.
Despite such rapidly growing elderly population, elders are often excluded in society in terms of job opportunities mainly due to their age. Also, in terms of job searching, while young people can easily look for jobs by utilizing modern technology, such as mobile apps or websites that offer job searching functions to their users, elders must typically rely on more conventional means of job search such as physical job hunting. As a solution, I thought of developing an app called Felixteris that is specifically designed to help elders look for certain jobs that people of any age can do. Such jobs include: a garden keeper, a petsitter, a parking attendant, etc. An important aspect I have noticed about those jobs is that they are all simple jobs that the young people do not have much advantage over the elders, and, therefore, at least for the jobs offered to them within the app, elders do not have to compete as much with young people and worry about losing job opportunities to them. Unlike modern job searching apps and websites that are too complicated for elders to use, Felixteris is going to be as simple as possible in terms of its features and -- in case of elders struggling to use the app -- will be advertised in a way that encourages children of the elders help their parents learn how to use the app. Most importantly, this app guarantees benefit for employers as well as the elders since the app allows employers to hire elders for lesser cost than the cost to hire young people for certain jobs that people of any age would perform at similar skill level.

Narrow is a web-based and a mobile app which will be the bridge for the people who hurt because they can not prove their ownership of the land and lost because their voices can not be heard to speak for their justice. Law is hard to understand, especially for the people who do not have access to it. We aim to become a platform which connects government, society and stakeholders to solve especially land problems. We will (1) make it easier for all people to register their land to the government, (2) give them real-time notifications when their certificate of the land will be available and, (3) try to make it into only one month to get the certificate. Because all this time, it takes one until three years for ordinary people to get the certificate of the land and they do not know when their certificate will be available.
Land ownership proof becomes a very serious issue in many countries. The biggest problem is the lack of data on land ownership and also takes too long for someone to register the land to the Government. Not all people have the same opportunity access to justice. A lot of illegal levies makes it more expensive and take a long time (1-3 years or more) only for a sheet of paper which proves the ownership of the land. Land without certificates is vulnerable to disputes and people easily evicted without compensation. Another than the land problem in mind, we aim to be the bridge for the people who left behind to find or make new opportunities to grow. The objective of this idea is to clean up the city of Lomé in order to establish a more liveable and healthy environment for the populations. In addition, this idea aims to beautify the city of Lomé and to reform the treatment of waste and attract more tourists.
To achieve this idea we will set up modern recycling centers employing unemployed young people. These recycled objects will be put back on sale to ensure the maintenance of the center. Regarding the management of plastic waste, a process will be put in place to transform them into a binder just like cement which, after mixing with sand, will form construction elements such as paving stones and bricks. These bricks and paving stones will be marketed and used for the construction of the city.
We will need the collaboration of government authorities to then ban the use of plastic bags which will be replaced by solid paper packaging manufactured on site and to be recycled.

With our indigenous technology, we are able to produce locust bean spice with less odor that can be preserved for more than a year and hence targeting those who prefer the solid/the powdery form, less marshy and dried with or without odor and free of stones. Natbag consists of an activity of converting recovered paper into packaging. In other words, it is an activity of producing paper packaging from recovered paper. It is an activity that has several objectives, the main ones being:

The activity therefore has 3 stages. It involves research and recovery of papers first, then cleaning and sacking and finally marketing.
The idea arose from the following observations:
- Paper is used to produce newspapers, magazines. But after reading it is stored, or resold as is to resellers for the sale of their products. They tear it up end by end to put their product in it for their customers.
- Several African countries including Togo have issued legislation to reduce or even ban the use of non-biodegradable plastic bags and even plastic bags. But apart from Rwanda, which can be cited as a good example, no African country has really advanced in this fight. In Togo 10 years after the law was passed, non-biodegradable plastic bags are still popular. The plastic bag is literally consumed.
So to implement the idea while taking into account the concept of the blue economy, the innovation in this activity was to produce the bags from tools developed first in paper and then in wood. In addition, he will have a committee of this farm responsible for educating the population on the need to cultivate and breed at home to ensure at least his food as well as the need to plant trees with edible fruits and raise edible animals. This farm can be extended to several regions and even around the world. So there will be more trees producing fruits and vegetables, more edible animals, less starvation and dangers, chemical diseases worldwide. Snails are endemic to our community,such is the case of the land snails.About 80% of the inhabitants in our community depends on this rich forest animal species as a direct source of income. Since many ethnic groups in and beyond Cameroon now consum snails, consequently there is a high demand for snails both within and beyond Cameroon. Also many households depends mainly on snails for household protein because they can not afford meat or fish. Unlike bush meat , snails are easy to collect and can be harvested by women and youths. Over time these resources are becoming very scarce due to persistent forest encroachment that result from hunting and lack of access to developmental information.
Assessing this problem using our survey information system,we shall established demonstration farms for training and equiping of individual
women and youths or in groups, and then create a network to access a wider market. This idea primarily intends to reduce poverty in our community by about 30%. It will improve the livelihood of 200 women and 300 youths within a year through training and empowering them with modern skills and techniques on snails farming,equip them with start up materials and also provide access to reliable and wider market.This idea will leads to a sustainable increase in family income,thus support women and youths in fighting poverty and hunger.

The proposed idea aims to use the most ignored waste (medical waste) to get useful energy. The steps followed include grinding the waste into minute partials followed by chemical stimulants extracted from the grinned powder followed by slurry or biofuel production. Orient technology is used in this process. The process was discovered by Dr Harvey in 1675. This is our unique value proposition. As there are no technologies available to convert medical waste to a suitable form till now, this idea will be a great time in the near future.
We have so far generated the whole concept map and the idea of approaching and developed models of our product. The implementation is left out. We conducted surveys in 8 hospitals of Tamil Nadu and came to know that medical waste disposal was one of the biggest problems there.
We try to reduce the power consumption and the cost of manufacturing the device by using low cost sensors and fabrication process. The use of Orient technology adds more features to it. We extract the stimulants from the waste which becomes one of the important ingredients in the production of the final useful product.
The proposed idea aims in sterilizing the hospitals (not only in Corona pandemic but also in general terms) keeping in mind the parameters like accuracy, cost, efficiency, ease of usability and fabrication. Since experiments conduct shows that UV and liquid disinfectants are not efficient with Corona virus as it is not airborne.
The above conducted activities helped us to know the demand and the unique value proposition of our product. The market segmentation helped us to know the competitors or our product and how we are different from them. Simulation results helped us to know the possible functionality of the product and the way in which we can improvise them.
Some of the challenges and the ways we overcome that are listed below.
1. Ultrasonic is harmful:Ultrasonic above 120 decibels are only harmful. The product works only in the range of 80 to 85 decibels.
2.Technical issues:If the device crosses 120 decibels due to technical issues, the product operates on a tuner device and hence it will automatically shut down the device if the emitter crosses the threshold values.
3.Powering up and cost:Since the product is established through IOT concepts along with image processing and machine learning, the cost of sensors and powering them up are way too easier and cheaper.
4. How to know if the waves are getting generated or not? A simple ultrasonic detector will be implemented which can tell if the waves are generated or not.
5. Dissipation of rays:Ultrasonic rays are self dissipated once the power to the source is cut off.
6.How to know if the room is sterilized? If the thermal imager shows grey regions, it means there are contaminated regions. If the grey regions are turned to green, it means the waves have sterilized the regions.
Growing vegetables, flowers and trees in our city was thought about because I have realized that the lack of enough spaces to grow plants in our cities causes hunger for their inhabitants and entails low income for urban poor communities and lack of good atmsphere to all, and there are many disorganized urban plannings and confinement. I started the small project of growing tomatoes, golden berries and amaranthus spinosus, flowers and trees to cope with the problem of hunger, poverty and help increasing my family household to cut down expenses on food. This project has started in April this year and will be scaled up to the neighbors upon funding. It aims at creating the employment to more than 200 women, and improving the diet for 1,500 children. These are the objectives developed :
- Increase household income through sales of vegetables, flowers and trees.
- Reduce malnutrition cases among 1500 children from my city, by 2022.
- Protect the environment of Kigabiro city.
- Fight against unemployment of 200 women from Kigabiro by 2022.

The project will achieve three main objectives, namely i) restore degraded soils and reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) through the production and use of organic fertilizers in agricultural production ii) produce 20 tons green chili and 36 tons of yams to help ensure food security for disadvantaged and vulnerable communities; iii) create 4 permanent jobs and 16 temporary jobs to reduce the unemployment rate and local migration which negatively affects rural women and girls. These objectives will be achieved through five (05) main interdependent activities which focus on: i) the selection of a variety of seeds (seeds of chili and yam cuttings) of quality; ii) producing organic fertilizers (compost) and using it for soil fertility and minimizing the use of chemical fertilizers in the project region; iii) the cultivation of three (03) hectares of land including 1ha for the production of chili and 2ha for the production of yam by exploiting local labor; iv) store and preserve products after harvest; v) distribute (sell) products to direct consumers and raise awareness in local communities. The innovative approach of our project is based on the sustainable practice of agricultural activity and the general awareness of all farmers in the region to the use of organic fertilizers to minimize the negative impacts of the use of chemical fertilizers and fight climate change. The production and use of organic fertilizer will restore degraded soils and ensure the production of sustainable family farming. This innovation will considerably increase the added value of agricultural production for the project and the farmers in the region and will stimulate local economic development.

A-ensongas 5 Million for Water (5MW) project is born out a great desire to make water available, accessible and affordable to disadvantaged people in Africa, starting from Ghana. The direct and indirect objectives of the project include:
- Provision of clean drinking water to 5million disadvantaged Ghanaians\'.
- Reduction of water-related illness and diseases among vulnerable people
- Contribute to save the future of vulnerable children
- Job creation for women and youth through Snail breeding and water supply
- Contribute to improved nutrition of the Ghanaian population and the world at large through high quality healthy snails.
Our innovative approach of connecting 5MW project to the untapped heliciculture industry in Ghana will maximise the success of the project. Our project takes a market-oriented through our cooperation with global experts in the industry to leverage latest the technology in the breeding of snails and also to assure ready local, sub-regional and global markets for our produce. This approach is different from the unscientific approach that has been traditionally adopted by snail farmers in Ghana with little success. Having determined the objectives and scope of 5MW, the following are key activities of the project for the short term:

DigiFood (Digital food) provides food loss and food waste management services that connects food owners (food businesses and household) with consumers in need. Indonesia is the second-largest contributor to food waste in the world, even though data from the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) reveals that there are 22 million Indonesians who have chronic hunger (KumparanBISNIS, 2019). Therefore, the key to our innovation is integrating two problems, theyre environmental and social problems, in one solution. DigiFood has 3 features which are divided into Digi-loss, Digi-waste, and Digi-shop. Each feature has its own problem focus. In Digi-loss feature, users can connect to sell or buy vegetable products, fruits, or other raw food products that are closing to the expiration date (best-before date) at a discounted price. Farmers whose products are rejected by distributors can also sell their products through this feature, as well as food products from traditional markets or supermarkets. As for the Digi-waste feature, it will connect restaurants with consumers who are looking for food at discounted prices up to 80% (preferably leftovers in the kitchen, which cannot be given to guests, fails, wrong order or too much). Likewise with catering business owners, who usually provide products with a buffet system, so often too much leftover. Last, the Digi-shop feature aims to help business people who use food loss and food waste for their products, such as compost or animal feed. DigiFood can be a marketplace for them to sell their products. Another important thing is we provide a Donate option in each of its features, so users can buy it to donate to those who need it or simply donate their own products through this app. We also have marked hunger spots scattered in various regions, so users can choose the nearest spot from their position.

Did you know average varsities in Zimbabwe can only accommodate half of their students for on campus accommodation this results in over 2 million students nationwide renting individual houses and resorting to living in unreliable housing with expensive prices and transport to campus.
Our main objective is to provide environmentally conscious, affordable and fast setting up housing for middle income to low income families who cant afford traditional housing methods such as brick and mortar housing and also green affordable student accommodation in local universities.
Now we do this by up-cycling shipping containers which are often discarded after use in shipping, we buy remodel them offsite to user taste but typically each pod is rigged with putting epoxy flooring, wooden walls stuffed with insulation and lights and electricity with solar panels.
Each pod (12*4 metres ) can form 2 rooms average sized rooms (4*4 metres) and ablution room.
Now an average family in Zimbabwe has 4.2 persons,meaning they would need about five rooms inclusive of ablution and kitchen. To construct such a house using traditional means needs about USD 30 000. Which is beyond most families. Whereas using our pods it would cost USD 13 500.
We are providing housing at a fraction of the cost whilst being environmentally friendly simultaneously its faster construction which takes 3 weeks for a 5 roomed house compared to 3 months needed when constructing using brick and mortar.
Now this is innovative as it is leveraging already existing discarded pods into habitable housing for low income members of our community, with least cost and environmental impact to each pod used

Wastage is eliminated through efficient supply chain of delivering produce that is already wanted and also up-cycling of unused produce into dried vegies and dried meat and unwanted produce into fertilisers and compost. Thus we eliminate wastage completely.
Through precision farming all the fertiliser and pesticides is used accordingly without wastage now every drop applied will be fully utilised through precision farming of monitored farming using senors(soil, moisture, fertility) and drones to deliver a self monitoring farm and ready data

The objective of the Smart Medication Cabinet is to help elderly people who tend to be forgetful and people with disabilities like loss of sight to take their medication on time and keep them healthy. This could also help people suffering from chronic diseases, reminding them to take their medication, in the design of a compact-sized Smart Medication box. It has the following features: 1) a digestible sensor that checks if a particular medication has been taken and sends low power signals to a receiver under the skin of the patient. This information can be sent to respective doctors too who can keep tabs on their health. This will make sure that there is no need of a third person or a nurse for the elderly and also save doctor trips. 2) Patients with loss of sight cannot identify the exact pill. The cabinet provides a solution by ensuring that the respective compartment will push out only the required amount of the specific medication which will be easy for the person. 3) The cabinet alerts the patient when its time to take medication with a buzzing sound along with an automated message telling that its time to take medicine. A message will also be sent to the phone. 4) There is a bar code scanner placed in the cabinet/box that checks the expiry date and automatically disposes the expired medication. The Problem Statement:
In the current situation, the Indian farm to factory is highly asymmetrically dominated by the intermediaries, obscuring the information flow, impacting both the farmer and the end consumers equally resulting in a problem of plentiful production and supply on one hand which keeps the producer\'s farm price at levels below, while the ultimate customer faces irregular supply, poor quality, extreme price points, and volatility. In financial terms, there was no single market across the nation, while demand was indeed uniform and widespread, the production was fragmented.
The recent emergence and domination of the e-commerce led by likes of Amazon, Flipkart and specifical players like Big basket in grocery, besides the offline retailing formats from large and established industrial house has started to generate information on the demand side, further the commodities exchange for predominantly cash has shown the financial value not just from monetization and risk management, but more critically as a planning tool. Access to organized financing, thorough banking channels is limited on account of socio-political nature and abuse of the financial system, esp. as the lending is based on collateral in absence of the financials or the transaction or a dedicated credit profile of borrowers.
Innovation - A Digital Model:
I propose to break the chain in the traditional agrarian model and make it transparent with digitalization through an App - Independent Farmers Production and Finance (IFPAF).
Our project is mainly to establish a platform through which people can donate clothes to those in need, help them out of poverty, and realize resource recycling and reuse.
We will make an App called ReClothes. Donors can download our app, click to make an appointment for clothes donation, fill in the detailsname, address, contact number, appointment time, weight of clothes. Then they can click Submit. (The donor can send clothes to a designate address that is included in our service; if not, we will deliver these clothes according to the actual situation.) We will record the real-time information of each piece of clothing and put the information on the platform for the donor to view the track information of old cloth.
We will arrange the personnel of the cooperative express company come to the address the donors provide to inspect and collect clothes. Then we will transport the clothes to our cooperative public welfare enterprises, with volunteers and staff to sort and clean the clothes. For clothes suitable for donation, we will contact local NGOs to donate to people in need. For clothes that are not suitable for donation, sorting, disinfecting and packing should be carried out according to the material to enter a more accurate processing link. In response to this issue, Escawipe serves as a novel project in transforming your typical everyday food and agriculture waste into sustainable toilet paper.
As one of the world\'s densest agriculture countries, Malaysia, we fully utilize non-wood fibers in our toilet paper production. These include products such as sugarcane bagasse, banana fiber, oil palm empty fruit bunch (EFB), and kernel shells of oil palm that were normally dumped after harvesting and oil extraction. Besides, we also use food waste (fruit skin and soybean, which consist of long carbohydrate chains and lignocellulosic materials).
To make our toilet paper, we extract the cellulose from those agricultural residuals to increase the strength, texture, and appearance of toilet paper. Any undesired components left from our raw materials will be directed to undergo anaerobic digestion (AD) in order to generate electricity by collecting methane gas. Anymore sludge left will then be composted to produce organic fertilizer, which can be sold for additional income.
Our key innovation is the zero-waste approach which incarnated through our circular economy system. We try to convert waste into wealth that is beneficial to society. With that said, our main objective is to develop an economically profitable product and a self-sustainable process plant which uses the methane gas produced in the process as an energy source to power up our own plant. No additional energy consumption is required after utilizing every ounce of material to its fullest. Not only reducing the overall energy usage, but our approach also lessens the greenhouse gases (GHGs) emission to the environment.

Third, in the social field I want to guide young people to care around, namely through social assistance activities for underprivileged people, sharing food to break their fast during the month of Ramadan, the creation of mutual cooperation in villages and others. This social field may be many activities that will be created related to conditions that occur in certain locations. Social media is one way that can attract the masses both in terms of community members and in terms of children who want to take part in tutoring in all three fields. My main idea to become any country to no poverty. If a man making money it will be belong to him and his wife only and his money should be to spend to his children growth only it should not be belong to his children. mother and father property is not belong to his children.
Our idea is to create a platform where the common people can directly file their complaints to the concerned authority without physically going to the office or waiting for the call to be picked up by the authority services. We aim to build an application for the citizens through which a person can directly message their problem to the concerned authority without bothering anyone and following the lockdown rules. For instance, if i have a query related to Food and Public Distribution Scheme then i will choose the option of FOOD AND PDS, and my query will be sent to food dept and if my query is not related to any department then we can select miscellaneous. Similarly like FOOD AND PDS we have, other fields like LAW AND ORDER, HEALTH RELIF. In HEALTH RELIEF, we have both, covid and non-covid categories for better response. Also if no action is taken within 5 days of complain, the user can then file to higher authority along with the reference number assigned on filing complaint.
All of this comes under the public grievance section. Apart from this we have a section for daily updates providing the latest information about governmental decisions. While the Chatbot section will clarify the general queries and doubts using AI and DL. In case, chatbot fails to answer any query, it will provide a link using which user can ask the same to the concerning department.
Growing up, I have experienced children with special needs struggling with education, repeating classes, depressed and at times become victims of school drop out. I also volunteered to teach young children and its whereby i realized the difference in levels of their understanding and learning different subjects. This inspired me to find out why some children are fast learners and others are slow learners although to me they seem to be geniuses. I came to realize that Tanzania has no early detection and intervention system to identify children with special needs so that they are taken to pursue education in their special needs schools instead of struggling in the normal education delivery schools. Worse enough, parents are not aware of the special schools and some are not aware if their children are of special needs category. They even force their children to normal schools even when they are advised by medical practitioners/teachers simply because they consider those schools to be for disabled children like the blind, deaf while such schools in Tanzania include curriculum even for autistic children etc.
Children with Dyslexia and autism have their own way of learning things thus when taken to normal schools become depressed and end up emotionally tortured as they become last performers in academics, slow in learning and at times end up dropping out of school. Worse enough in Tanzania parents consider such children as \'those who don\'t want to study\'. Thus, by introducing this program, such children will be early identified, parents will be made aware of their children nature of learning thus reduce the problem to a large extent by taking them to schools with teaching methodology that fits their children thus become future change makers.
The problem or condition of mental illness in Tanzania has been increasing over years. Various researches being conducted in Tanzania hospitals identify main challenges as lack of human resource for mental health, lack of drugs, problems in insurance coverage for mental disorders, stigmatization, no prioritization of mental health care in the Ministry of health budget, inadequate training of human resource for mental health and worse enough although they are few in number, they become allocated to other departments rather than cater for higher demands in psychiatric departments. However, I believe this challenge can be solved by involving the community at large (families inclusive).
Therefore, I came with an idea of developing \"Mental Health Awareness Clubs in Schools\" from lower classes to universities. This is because most of adults are victims of mental health problems due to variety of reasons; drug abuse, rape, and family conflicts inclusive. Thus the clubs will help primary school students obtain knowledge of mental health care, at secondary school obtain knowledge and abstain from behaviors that may affect their mental health since students are highly exposed to technology (for example; watching pornography using mobile phones, join immoral groups), and at University level become the mental health champions and pioneers in educating their communities on mental health care. It will also alert and motivate university students to pursue mental health related programs of study thus address the challenge of shortage of mental health human resources in Tanzania.
Further, for those who will become leaders in the Government or any sector will prioritize mental health issues in the budgetary allocations as they already know the importance. More research will be conducted and for those of ICT Profession will be eager to design better apps and programs for better service provision between health workers and psychiatric patients.
The objective of creating a temperature sensor is to create an environment in which it is possible to effectively curb the spread of covid-19. As a result of developing a system that enables everyone the ability to monitor there temperature at an easier access. This app does not only enable accessible monitoring of an individual\'s temperature but also notifies government of potential cases and these cases go straight through to government hotlines .The objective is to also make the app industrially efficient during this period of global recession. The innovative approaches would be using the camera on a cellphone as well as the fingerprint system to work alongside the app and scan for the temperature as most smart phones have this attribute thus making the app more affordable.

To encounter this, we have surveyed people from different sectors and collected the data for building the solution, which solves their problem. Therefore, we came up with a new concept of retrofitting the vehicle with a plug in hybrid electric vehicle kit (PHEV Kit). With the help of this kit, we can convert a passenger vehicle into a hybrid vehicle. By virtue of this, we can travel on electricity as well as fuel. As driving electricity is inexpensive and eco-friendly, customer can save the cost of commuting and maintenance while travelling. Our main activity is retrofitting passenger vehicle with PHEV kits. We assemble the parts of the hybrid powertrain. We design the components required for the smooth working of the mechanical components and convert the vehicle into a plug in hybrid. The motor system and the fuel engine system works independently. We can travel on either of the modes individually and hence extend the mileage of the vehicle. On calculations, we can reduce the operating cost of the vehicle by 68.13 percent and reduce the mass of emissions by 72.46 percent.

Since, the problem of solid waste landfill has created distress among the people and environment either by carbon emissions, pollution, soil degradation and many more. In order to tackle this problem, one of the key solutions would be to reduce the amount of solid waste going to the landfill. In addition, we are also looking to build a market where recycled and upcycled products would be prefered over regular ones. For this, we are researching and identifying potential solutions to make it happen. The innovative parts would be - relatively low priced upcycled products (Since, upcycled products are comparitively expensive in the Nepalese market), focusing more on utlities and designs that would help people prefer upcycled products. And lastly, building a eco-system and platform in a long run by connecting individual recyclers and upcyclers along with the environmentally conscious people, recycling institutitons and other relevant stakeholders for trade of upcycled products, exchange of discussions, partnerships and projects that would open the door to larger recycling and upcycling eco-system. Elders or anyone requiring special needs can be cared for 24 hours a day while maintaining their health without any hassle : their safety and health is constantly monitored by e-home care. They feel safer with the smart personal care plan which is the non-invasive and unobtrusive monitoring of vitals such blood pressure, blood sugar, heart rate, respiration rate etc. Smart alerts are send to care assistants and doctors, and if any vitals are not between the safe range, the system automatically sends an emergency response. The care plan is created to cater to specific needs of the patient (e.g. a patient with diabetes will have a personalised plan with regular blood sugar testing and insulin medication). The device will be connected to the hospital database. This will enable the patients specialised doctor to monitor their health in an efficient way.

The idea is to collect clothes, footwear, utensils, toys and other used up items that people use in their day to day lives. These items will be collected and sanitized. After this is done, the items will further be distributed to needy people. We will maintain a record of items taken from different donators and also a record of the donatees receiving it. In this way, we will try to ensure equal distribution of items. We will also collect plastic items and see how those can be reused as other alternatives. We will take in any used-up material that the person wants to throw away and convert it to another re-usable item. For example, taking a tin can and converting it to a pen stand. These will also be distributed among the needy as non-essential items. Our database will keep a collection of essential and non-essential items that are being circulated.
The aim is to finally re-distribute goods that are in usable condition to people who can still utilize them and ensure zero wastage of items. Items that are hard to dispose and non-decomposable goods will also be taken care of. The best thing out of this is that it tries to provide the disadvantaged and needy with at least some items that they need badly and try to provide them with those on time. However, when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, students found it hard to continue learning. We bridged the gap betweeen Instructors and Students by providing an online Community where students can learn, generate transcripts, and take quizzes online - all for free but through a registered School. We created this website for schools for free because education is so dear to us. And just like Nelson Mandela\'s word: \"there can be no true reflection of a society than how it treats his own children.\" We impacted the educational sector to create free learning curriculum for students.

2.6 Billion people in developing countries rely on traditional cookstoves. The gases released by the traditional cookstoves cause environmental hazards from indoor pollution due to which 4.3 million people die prematurely every year.
First, I identified the problems with traditional cookstoves: the release of harmful pollutants, inefficient combustion, and environmental hazards. The Safer Homes project addresses these problems in multiple ways. The cookstove runs on biomass( which is an energy form commonly found in rural areas making it easier to access). The design of the model is created to ensure most efficient heat supply for cooking food as well as minimal smoke emissions. It also reduces fuel requirements down 60%. Efficient heating is created by the design of a cylindrical upward narrow column which is enclosed from all sides. This ensures that all the heat generated by the biomass is directed upward to the food. The narrow column is also insulated, once again to prevent energy escape. The cylindrical design with insulation also targets the problem of releases of harmful pollutants. As there is only a narrow opening to place the biomass, the smoke emissions are reduced by at least 80%. To combat the the problem of environmental hazards, the cookstove uses biomass as energy source. Biomass includes material such as crop waste and dried animal dung. This ensures that there is less deforestation and less waste produced. The narrow rectangular opening ensures that the burning biomass gets enough oxygen for complete combustion with fire, leading to efficient combustion. The design also includes an innovative addition: the biomass is placed at an elevated level so that the flow of heat is upwards, moreover the top of the stove is shaped to accommodate the utensil of food.

My aim is basically to work in line with the four specific pillars being social, Human, Economic, and Environmental that will help me achieve my target in line with the suitable sustainable development goals. The objective that I wish to attain with this project would be first acquiring a farm land and allocate in into long term, medium and short term greens. The greend will be a variety that will help us reach out target goals e.g (1) long term- Mukula trees, lemons, oranges, tumarid,baobab,avocado,moringa and many other locally and non locally grown trees.(2) medium term - Bananas, tomatoes, potatoes, and others. (3) short term - herbs,flowers(roses etc),spices and so on . These will be grown the respective sections. Of course will not be grown at once only the long term will but the rest will be grown in accordance to the research done on the basis of which season they grow best it and will be made available in different forms on and off season(dried) as they will undergro a preservation process. The various greens will lead to an end products of skin care ( masks, scrubs, oils lotions,shower gels,anti aging, strech marks remover, etc) ; weight loss or management; Detox drinks; Herbal juices; Immune boosters ; Virginal tightening/ sweetening juices just to mention but a few. Introduction of various greens even those not known to be grown in Zambia will be made available through us and wide research the team will be conducting, this will also help the local communities be exposed to various agricultural and irrigation methods aside from the common one which is slowly leading us into drought due to changes in weather patterns. We will identify fast-growing sectors in Africa and handhold ex-convicts to build businesses along the value chains of these sectors. Agriculture/agribusiness will be a priority. The objectives of TEI include:
-To launch an ex-convict enterprise development program for ex-convicts in Africa
-To introduce psychology-based entrepreneurship for ex-convicts as an innovative approach to optimize the
success of ex-convict businesses
-To mentor and develop great ex-convict businesses
-To curb the rate of recidivism. The tendency to go back to ones crime is high if the person cannot find his life.
-To contribute to reduce inmate depression as they hope for a better life after prison. The research says that prisoners normally worry about future livelihoods during lonely hours in their cells and this often causes depression and serious breaches of discipline.

This comprises Ex-convict Entrepreneurship School, Ex-Business Tour, Ex-convicts Business Development Services (EX-BDS), and Ex-Skills. We believe that our approach is an innovative methodology. The concept of rehabilitation of ex-concepts through vocational education has yielded results far below expected. Most prisons dont have records of activities of discharged prisoners and therefore have no way of giving them comprehensive help. Moreover, a significant number of inmates were unemployed before their conviction and the vocation is not chosen in relation to past experience or self-discovery.

The main objective of the challenge is to enable young people to give voice to solutions to problems they themselves experience in the environment in which they live, such as schools, universities, communities etc. Themes such as design thinking and problem prioritization matrix are topics addressed during the challenge. Over the course of three weeks, young people will have the necessary knowledge to identify the causes of a proposed problem [usually linked to a recurring issue experienced by them], understand it and suggest implementation approaches [or even start implementing it themselves]. By sending checkpoints [initially thought in emails], participants will go through three weeks of study and ideation until they reach a possible solution approach. LydiaRose\'s Initiatory (LRI) is a company with two motives. LRI\'s first motive is to use the oil palm as an electricity generating source for the public besides the production of palm oil and palm kernel oil that will be sold domestically and exported internationally. This will be done in a palm oil mill that will be set up according to international standards of palm oil mills already existent in Malaysia and Indonesia from which the idea was birthed. Since the palm oil mills would be for large scale production, the mill would have a lot of first-grade steam turbines and turbo generators that would be installed in power houses with grids attached or connected to them for public use.
LRI\'s second motive is to produce Ethanol from corn, sugarcane, agricultural and municipal residue which will be used as alternative fuel for automobiles. For this second motive to be achieved, a multipurpose mill for the processing of corn, sugarcane, agricultural and municipal residue will be designed to address all four products that will be turned into Ethanol for public vehicle consumption. The other part of LRI\'s second motive is to produce Biodiesel from vegetable oils (corn oil, palm kernel oil) that will be used as an alternative diesel for engines of a generative nature.
With electricity from power houses that will run on POME (palm oil mill effluent) used as fuel for steam turbines to generate electricity, there will be steady supply of electrical current from the palm oil mill because it will be self sufficient. My main objective is to set up a firm or a company that collects this waste paper(newspaper,white paper, exercise book) and converting this waste to bio-fuel.

Aquaponics is one of the most sustainable ways to grow food. It involves a combination of aquaculture and hydroponics in one integrated system. Once youre set up, theres very little maintenance or effort required.
The basic premise of aquaponics is that the waste produced by your fish feeds the plants, and the plants clean the water for the fish, producing one continuous cycle.
This system is based entirely around the nitrogen cycle. When the fish produce waste (ammonia), bacteria break it down into nitrates. A pump then carries this water, which is high in nitrates, to the grow bed where plants are growing. The plants draw nitrogen from the water, which both feeds the plants and cleans the water, making it safe to return to the fish tank.
This cycle repeats over and over, with the fish providing nutrition for the bacteria, the bacteria breaking down the fish waste and feeding the plants, and the plants cleaning the water to return back to the fish.
There are a few different ways to set up an aquaponics system. The three most common ones are:

My idea will implement the deep water culture system, also known as raft-based growing. It uses a floating foam raft commonly used in large commercial setups. My proposed solution considers the use of a Far-Ultra Violet Light Auto-Sanitizing Door Handle to prevent bacterial contaminate spreading. The goal number 4 on quality education ensures inclusive and quality education for all. It ensures all girls and boys access and achieve quality education and aims at eliminating gender disparities. However, for the girl child, this proves to be difficult in remote areas and developing countries where two out of the girls miss school during their menstruation periods. The reason for this trend is the fact that their choice for the right and quality menstrual pads are limited by their costs and availability. On the other hand, good health and hygiene during their periods are a bit hard to achieve due to lack of proper tools like separate toilets for the girls in schools and there is also less or no education on menstruation to girls because it is a taboo to discuss such topics. For that reason, my idea aims at solving the underlying issues of lack of menstrual pads amongst school girls and address the issue of proper Menstrual hygiene in schools for the purpose of ensuring girls access education with no distractions whatsoever. It also seeks to establish platforms where menstrual hygiene awareness and topics can be discussed in schools without prejudice and to offer the girls an opportunity to to concentrate on their education and compete at the same level academically with the male students. This will be achieved by supplying free menstrual pads to school girls and organizing rallies where girls can be taught on how to maintain proper hygiene during their menstrual periods and where they can share with health experts the challenges they face during their menses which affects their education negatively. Also, the idea in keen in raising an awareness to the community, especially mothers, on the importance of discussing menstrual health with their children.

NGO donation only goes a short way for a refugee. Although it caters for their everyday needs, it does not provide a solution in the long term. Refugees that are purely reliant on NGO provision of goods will forever be reliant on this support as they have no skill allowing them to stand on their own. Open doors believes that education and training is the only way in which a refugee can become self-sustaining and be able to improve their lives in the long term.
Most asylum seeker and refugee hosting destinations provide adequate integration of refugees into primary and secondary school systems. However, virtually none of them provide support for university and higher education. Thus, Open Doors aims to ensure that refugee students are not disadvantaged in their access to this.
We will address the issue from its many facets. First, from an external environment perspective, we will work with universities to develop admission processes specifically for refugee students that are integratable into their current protocols. Next, we will work from an internal perspective, ensuring that refugee families understand the importance of education and are supportive in their childs pursuit of higher education. We will also work directly with refugee students by providing seminars, mentorships, and workshops to ensure that they are able to choose universities, subject areas, and thereby professions appropriately. FInally, we will also work with existing scholarship organisations, corporate firms, and public donors to secure long term financial support for these students.
The children of refugees have had absolutely no control about their predicaments to date. By providing them opportunities to access higher education, we hope that we can provide them the tools needed for them to be self-dependent and improve their lives in the long term.

My solutions proposed applications are designed to alleviate individuals who reside in countries that experience bouts of extreme heat. My proposed solution considers the implementation of a home-based thermal recovery system that will be used to absorb external thermal energy which thereafter will provide a source of clean renewable energy. My approach considers utilizing Vanta-black aluminium alloy as roofing and also as a heat sink/thermal switch in conjunction with a thermal electric generator (TEG) and HVAC unit. The aluminium alloy roofing is used as a heat sink/thermal switch that absorbs and controls the flow rate of thermal energy which is then transferred into a TEG so as to collect the thermal energy. Additionally, an HVAC unit is used to reduce and control the temperature of the TEGs cold side which thereafter produces a controlled thermal gradient (electricity). Moreover, the HVAC unit is also used to control the residual temperature in a residential building. Ultimately, this approach will globally reduce the urban heat island effect which thereafter will produce clean energy and reduce hydro bills.
The challenge of waste disposal has become one of the most serious environmental problems facing many cities in Nigeria. The million tonnes of plastic that litters our street clog up the waterways and drainages eventually end up in the oceans every year are threating biodiversity, human health, and also resulting to environmental hazards ranging from flooding to unhealthy atmosphere in most parts of the city.
Environmental Patch Recycling (ENVOPATCH) is a waste management organization registered under CAC/RC/NO 3049055 centred on community development which broadly cuts into health, education, environment and cultural diversity. Our business is located at the heart of Owerri, Imo State. Her aim is to develop the communities in Nigeria using every means we have available to us to enrich the society closest to us. Our goal is to encourage and motivate Nigerians to recycle and make the country a better ecological place by stopping plastic pollution. To achieve this, we introduced an incentivized recycling programme Waste to wealth where citizens will be rewarded for every recyclable waste sorted from sources (landfills, market places, resort centres, schools etc) and loyalty towards appropriate waste disposal and management.
The perceived challenge in waste management led to the need for smart and rewarding way of encouraging users to dispose waste appropriately through an easy to use technology-driven automated and incentivized system. It was established that the social behaviour of citizens can be improved by introducing smart incentives as the motivation for appropriate waste management.
With the use of the waste to wealth smart-kit, recyclables will no longer go into drainages leading to flooding and unhealthy atmosphere, recyclables will no longer be burnt as practices in some places polluting the environment, and recyclables will no longer occupy landfills spaces.

Millions of farmers in South Asia in off-grid irrigation land are using diesel pumps to lift groundwater, which has implications to climate change. The running cost of diesel pumps is too high as compared to solar pumps. Due to poor quality of grid voltage, many farmers in grid area are also shifting in diesel pumping to lift groundwater, even though there is potential to use electricity. Existing solutions in practice is individual solar pump, which needs higher cost for installation. The grid voltage in most of Tarai area of Nepal is very poor. Voltage is even poor (Minimum up to 120 volts instead of 220 volt) in agricultural areas due to long distance from transformer or overload. Farmers are suffering from motor burn cases frequently. Many farmers are repairing motor in every six months which is decreasing the efficiency and power factor too. There is a huge loss in electricity and money. Solar micro-grid (MG)for small-holder farmers, who cant afford to pay high installation cost individually, is an economic and sustainable solution of water pumping in both grid and off-grid areas. In this model, a group of farmers within a distance of 1 to 3 Km are organized in a group. A proper sized solar farm will be install at appropriate location. The MG converts DC power to standard AC voltage. The output from the MG will be taken to individual pump house of the farmers. The same solar panel can lift the water from large number of pumps within 1 to 3 Km radius. Since, a small holder farmers lift water for a very few days in a month, a single pump can be shared by a large number of farmers as per need. The excess energy can be used in Milling, Battery Charging, Cold Store etc.

My Biofortifed orange maize instant porridge flour is one of such porridge flours that has been fortified with the main ingredients like soy beans, millet, avocados, bananas, and vitamin A biofortifed orange maize. This product apart from being designed to improve nutrition status of malnourished children, it has also been designed to alleviate vitamin A deficiency (VAD). Vitamin A deficiency is a common nutrition issue among poor communities and developing countries as the preformed sources of vitamin A (meat,eggs and cheese) are expensive to be purchased by the people living in such communities as most of them their total earnings per day do not exceed one dollar and hence, most people especially children are prone to VAD which its consequences include night blindness or even total blindness. So this product has been made in such away to meet vitamin A demands; again, vitamin A is only absorbed in the presence of fat and where fat is absent then vitamin A consumption is useless and as such, this flour has been fortified with fat so that all requirements for utilisation of vitamin A are all found within this product. In trying to make this product easy to prepare, the cooking time has been reduced; with mere additional of hot water and stirring makes this product ready to be consumed.
So this product has been designed for kids, school going children, pregnant and even lactating women.

Child marriage is a human rights violation and a practice that undermines efforts to promote sustainable development. And this remains a major challenge in Uganda. In 2015, a research was carried out in 9 districts and it was found out that the practice of child marriages affect 60% of the young girls in Uganda of which 15% are married by age of 15 and 49% by the age of 18.Teenage pregnancies remain high(24%) although statistics show a declining trend. This implies that a number of adolescent girls and boys are denied their childhood and their rights to exploit the expanded education opportunities. This inhibits girls and boys general personal capability and career development. Many are trapped in a cycle of poverty due the limited opportunities for employment. The needs of children who are already married must not be overlooked. To mitigate the increased health, economic, and educational risks posed by child marriage, the project aims to train equip and empower these young girls through mushroom growing and production to enhance their incomes

The kids of this community who are under training and the youth who have completed their training contribute to the future of this community. One unique feature of this way of education is the hands-on experience i.e 6 years of training after elementary schooling and 2 years of the internship so as to cultivate experience and skill.

The objective of this submission is to describe how we can get the maximum amount of working force from tidal wave energy. Defining various forces acting on a floating object, how we can handle unnecessary forces, how can increase useful force, and use it safely.
Tidal force on a floating object has two elements:
1) Horizontal force: This is a one-directional force creates by tidal flow/current.
2) Vertical force: Is a bidirectional force creates by tidal waves with gravity.
Tidal horizontal force (and with others external any kind of wind forces) on a floating object can be opposed by anchor it properly (by using minimum four horizontal/ long-distance anchors) so that the vertical force remains almost the same. This vertical force is useful and it can be very much useful as easily increase this vertical force by Archimedes Principle (by increasing the size of the object). This bidirectional vertical force is very much suitable for pumping purposes. By installing pump protected by RCC structure, using the vertical upward force of the wave on an anchored floating object continuously sufficient water pumping possible for hydropower station and or desalination.

Cultivating Prickly pears offer many benefits to women, migrants, and children to have better future. People can learn to grow cacti for personal use; or, entrepreneurs can see the potential for mass producing Opuntia; thus, creating more job positions.
These cacti consume little water, resist drought and are naturally pest resistant. Even if they become infested with Cochineals (Dactylopius coccus) and growers do not have the goal to produce dye out of their eggs, it is easy and sustainable to remove them with water and soap.
It is probably one of the few plants that offer so many benefits with few setbacks. Some cultivars are particularly prickly, hence the name. But for every setback, this cactus offers opportunities. Needles cacti can be also used as fences to secure farm animals. These needles are removed by hand or with tools (like scissors) for animal or human consumption. Or, there are Spineless varieties (i.e. Opuntia ellisiana), which are more palatable to animals without further treatment. Another setback is water: Too much water in their bases produces rot. So, in case of flooding, people should be able to asexually reproduce cacti to save their production.

It is against this background that we came up with the East African Business Hub, with overall goal of promoting the growth of SMEs in East Africa through the use of technology.
The platform will be a portal with different pages integrated together and categorically organized according to the products and services they offer. Each subscriber will have her own interactive page with information about their business in form of texts, images and videos. Each page will be created on a customizable sub domain in relation to the business name. The subscribers page will also be integrated with payment features to enable direct transactions online, thus connecting each of our subscribers to a whole new world of customers. In addition, the subscribers will be able to run several online marketing strategies tied to their pages to increase profitability and reputation.
H2W seeks to cover 2 thematic areas being menstrual health and hygiene , while improving their economic and financial life through skill acquisition and empowerment with tools on how to produce the reusable menstrual pads. The project which will be done in collaboration with real relief way Denmark, the producers of real relief way Denmark will teach our target beneficiaries how to produce the reusable menstrual pads with locally sourced materials after generally distributing free samples from the company. The project under its general objectives will also seek to empower the target beneficiaries (young women and adolescent girls) representing orphans, widows, disabled and the less privileged with mini sewing machines which will aid them in running their business and thereby improve their economic and financial life. This is without prejudice to online marketing strategy training on how to effectively trade product. For the benefits of others not covered under the first Stage of this project, mini training centres will be established to train other subsequent beneficiaries.
The Ugandan agricultural sector is mainly constituted of smallholder farmers accounting for 85% of the farming community. Smallholder farmers usually cultivate less than one hectare of land, often produce crops, fish or farm animals for family consumption with little surplus for the market. They are oblivious of market prices and lack transport means to take the surplus produce to the market centers; hence they sell their produce to local traders usually middlemen who pay them low prices. On additional that, their access to information about; genuine agricultural inputs suppliers, climatic change adaption strategies, available financial services and the general knowledge on the various modern agricultural strategies is meagre. This made it imperative for me to come up with an idea of establishing an online market place I termed as Pakasa Agro - Market place to enable a direct linkage between the farmers and buyers in an inclusive manner at the same time building their capacity through the use of technology.
Technically, the platform will be an online portal inform of an e-commerce website and a mobile app designed with different pages integrated together and categorically organized according to the products and services together with their prices offered by the different market players in the food supply chain in Uganda and at international level. The platform will contain matchmaking features to match users bids and offers for commodities and services. Each player will have to subscribe to this platform at a fee except the farmers. Each subscriber will have her/his own interactive page in form of a profile with information about their business in texts, images and videos forms. These platforms will also contain an interactive blog giving users a chance to share ideas and inspirations. Further still platform will be connected to online payment features enabling online transactions.
Liquid Yard is a social startup running on the principles of liquidating donations to its monetary value. The whole process mimics a charity yard. Firstly, individuals with supplementary goods (anything and everything) can register it as donation in our website. These donations include anything and everything. Once an area becomes dense with registered donations, our volunteer base shall collect them for temporary storage before the arrival of our monthly yard sales. In our yard sales, donated components are sold. During registry of the primary component, the donor can destine it to particular social startups, non-profits or social causes they would like to donate to. We shall distribute the worth of the sold product to that destination while during selling would add up a slight commission for our expenses. Our motto is to empower social startups and providing the ability to perceive anything as charity. In Bangladesh and similar developing countries, 7 out of 10 social startups with the best intentions and ideas fail due to lack of funding. Our main goal is to channel the funding to them. We cater to donors who can donate anything, middle and lower class buyers who shall purchase from the yard sales and social startups and non-profits to whom the worth is redirected in monetary values. Our main role and uniqueness is of liquidating as money can target each and every SDG directly. Warm clothes are not of much use in pandemics while medicines are not much effective in famine. We increase the efficiency of donation to its highest degree possible and thus bring a positive change in society.

The problem: Globally, the urban population produced about 1.3 billion tons of municipal solid waste (MSW) in 2012, which is expected to grow to 2.2 billion tones by 2025, Nationally, statistics shows that Nigeria generates more than 32 million tons of solid waste annually, out of which only 20-30% is collected, Lagos State being the second fastest growing city in Africa has a per capita waste generation of 0.5 kg per day, generating more than 10,000 tons of urban waste every day. The Higeneplus philosophy is to recycle and reduce landfill waste, creating an improved environment for future generations. Adopt and implement the latest waste management technology and always look out for new and innovative ways to increase productivity and efficiency, which will help to keep costs low for community members. We strongly believe in the basic principle of waste management i.e. reduce, reuse and recycle following the world standard and environmental protection regulations. There are publications and sensitization about global warming, amazon forest, and depletion of ozone layers, due to heavy pollution and injection of toxic and hazardous materials into the environment from industries hence the need for smart and sustainable developed cities. We intend to bridge the gap by providing solution to this huge challenge. Ibbie Agtech is building a mobile application called Farmers Connect. It is created to put a stop to subsistence farming, by providing agricultural machinery, organic fertilizers, farm evaluation officers,trainings , implementation with the inclusion of Agroforestry and access to markets to clusters of small holder farmers, with which to increase their production and empowering them to becoming commercially sustainable.
Each farmer will have a unique identification and password installed on their mobile phones, and can be used to access the services required per time.
This is a social impact program to increase the incomes and livelihoods of at least 10,000 farmers, as well as making their businesses sustainable and give room for expansion.
Our target customers are farmers of different agricultural products in Abuja, Nasarrawa and Kaduna states, as they produce mostly rice, wheat, ginger, corn, soybeans, sesame. They are beneficiaries as they stand to have an increased harvests and sales.
Personally, we have undergone trainings and are in negotiations with the Raw Materials Research and Development Agency to train the farmers on Agroforestry and better crop yields.
We have gotten a database of small holder farmers in the North Central region of Nigeria by the Community and Social Development Agency, and work with it to ensure optimal performance. This is where we got our estimates, as we believe the vision to grow bigger and attract more farmers.
I\'m proposes a solution called Village Grow (Vigrow), which entails developing rural industrial clusters and connecting them with e-commerce marketplaces. While analyzing the problem and elaborating this solution, this innovation answers the following problems: how the government could develop the rural economy through VIGROW, how e-commerce marketing could be implemented with VIGROW, and what the benefits of this program for stakeholders are. This innovation uses literature review with secondary data as the methodology. Data and research results help the author analyze the problem, provide benchmarks to develop the recommendation.
To build the rural economy, the government should harness local potentials to develop the industrial sector as it could mitigate diminishing returns to labour in the agriculture sector. However, producers in Indonesian rural industries are hindered by several issues, including those related to marketing and financing. These issues include limited market scope, limited information on market price and trend, and limited access to business loans. By connecting rural producers with e-commerce, VIGROW could help address these issues. First, using e-commerce allow rural producers to easily access markets beyond the local area. Second, e-commerce marketplaces expose rural producers to various market information. Third, rural producers selling on e-commerce marketplaces leave track records that could be used for credit assessment for when they apply for a loan. and the last, the formation of VIGROW volunteers who will provide vocational training for villagers who want to join VIGROW but do not yet have a product that is traded for the public.
Back in 2018 I visited my home village in Burundi after 18 years abroad. The first impression was that the population had doubled, with a huge number of young people without occupation. The subsistence agriculture that used to feed the people can no longer meet demand. Almost 70 purcent cannot afford eating three times per day, the dishes are not varied, and they lack animal proteins in most of the cases. You may understand that most of the citizens cannot afford imported goods because of the lack of financial means. Land conflicts have also increased very rapidly.
At that time, I was already building the first house for the project, but now the desire to help has become stronger more than ever before. Along with the training, we create jobs for small farm holders so that they can secure a sustainable income.
After an intensive training of six months at our farm, we help 300 small-scale-farm holders to group in associations so that they can reinvest the money earned from our company. Each association is advised to grow only one or two crop types in order to promote specialization and the market competitiveness. Our company takes in charge of the remuneration of an agricultural technician, and our marketing team helps them market their produce so that they can optimize profit. If an association decides to farm chicken, they may choose to get day-old chicks from our farm at lower prices, and they also continue to benefit from our expertise until they become self-reliant, able to apply the marketing principles of the todays way of doing business.

The reusable N95 mask I design have revolutionized the traditional design of masks. It is composed of breathing valve and three-layer filtration systemwater-blocking layer made of fluorine-free hydrophobic material, nanoporous fiber membrane filtration layer and pure cotton skin-friendly moisture-absorption layer. This structure determines the stability of this mask: it can be repeatedly cleaned and used, disinfected by 84 disinfectant and other chemical reagents, and it can withstand high temperature without lowering its protective performance.
I also design an additional layer: heating device of carbon nanofiber cloth, which can be heated and sterilized at a temperature of about 70 degree as long as the USB port on the mask is connected. When people do not have a set of cleaned masks, or need to use masks continuously, heating disinfection is a simple and efficient method. The mask is also printed with a two-dimensional code, which can be bound with the health code issued by the government. People can scan the QR code to grasp the information of masks and enter their own health information. During the epidemic, we can cooperate with the government to realize monitoring by scanning the QR code, which is convenient for the government to calculate data and adopt special prevention and control measures.
This mask can meet the protection needs of most people in daily life and work. It will extend the use cycle of masks, alleviating the current global crisis of masks. I hope that while providing people with low price and high quality products, we can also embody our concept of environmental protection.
