Sustainable development of occupational commuities
Explain your idea in details:
The people of various indigenous communities in India have to travel by and far for low paid and irrelevant jobs. They weren't able to benefit out of the education that they receive. Through this "SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF OCCUPATIONAL COMMUNITIES" project, these people have been able to establish their own shops also work with dignity and respect. The kids of this community who are under training and the youth who have completed their training contribute to the future of this community. One unique feature of this way of education is the hands-on experience i.e 6 years of training after elementary schooling and 2 years of the internship so as to cultivate experience and skill.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
1. Communicate with the groups about their opinion of this project. 2. Approach government for funding of buildings and land grant. 3. Appointment of communal representative. 4. Formulation of curriculum with the directorate of education and community heads. 5. Commencement of school construction. 6. Inauguration and implementation of scheme 7. Setting up shops in collab with tourism dept and on online platforms
Plans for implementation and sustainability
These schools will enroll students who have completed their elementary school followed up by 6 years of specialized skillset education like manufacture, workmanship, raw material, trade, communication, entrepreneurship etc. and 2 years of internship within the community I'll personally travel to the respective places and interact with the people about the pros and cons of my endeavour. Then I'll approach the collector to get a land grant for setting up of the schools and shops after which I will start my fundraising process which is mainly sponsorship from minorities welfare department, micro, small and medium enterprises department, Adi Dravidar and Tribal welfare department, Tourism, culture and religious endowments department, Social reforms department and Planning and development department. My project will solely work through government funding. Initially when the communal count is under 5 I'll be managing them on my own along with the representatives of the communities. But when it crosses 5, one regional manager will be appointed.
I'm a 19 year old law student from India. One day while braiding my hair my grandmother told me about the wig making community of Tamilnadu who came home and collected hair to make wigs following which I noticed organic and handmade products are becoming popular due to their authenticity and personal touch. This is when it occurred to me that India has more than 100 occupational communities pursing irrelevant jobs with no proper pay due to no financial support and uniform education. By implementing my idea the children from these occupational communities enter the mainstream and often fail to get proper jobs in pay. I propose to open up special schools for students from this community in which they will be learning their communal occupation after completion of elementary school. This will fight unemployment in 2 ways. 1)The kids from these communities will become skilled labours who will have entrepreneurship and also economic development within the community. 2)The elderly skilled workers of this community can work as teachers by opening up scope for another job as a teacher. This will help to sustain the occupation of indigenous communities and also in the development after community as a whole.
