“Aging Support” for the elderly that are suffering from hypertension and diabetes.
Explain your idea in details:
According to WorldLifeExpectancy.com, Nigerias average life expectancy is only in the mid 50s, compared to other countries with a Life Expectancy in the mid 80s! Heart Disease and Diabetes are listed in the top ten causes of death in Nigeria. The elderly population is the most neglected group of people in Nigeria; they are left to take care of their health themselves after serving for 35 years. And those who are peasant farmers have no health awareness and affordability. In some cases, their children have abandoned them to care for themselves; the government has no provision to take care of this group of people in Nigeria. This lack of proper care and inadequate health awareness has led many people to their early graves. The elderly in our world have the wisdom of the ages, including the history of Nigerias ancestors that should not be lost. With consistent use, tea has proven to be one of the healthiest drinks in the world. According to Medical News Today herbal teas and supplements have proven to naturally help those with type 2 Diabetes. And Healthfully.com confirms that herbal teas can have a positive effect on people with hypertension. With a little change in lifestyle and a cup of herbal tea every day, one can actually observe a difference in the human body. Herbal tea is a benefit to mankind as it provides specific benefits, including, but not limited to, improved digestion, detoxification and weight loss. Aging Support will exist to make life better for less privileged elderly, hypertensive and diabetic individuals in Nigeria, through interaction with health workers and spiritual people. And to organize an outreach free routine check-up on two silent killer diseases (Hypertension and diabetes) in under-reached communities.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
Aging Support will operate a social enterprise with stop and pick organic tea and fresh juice shops in 17 major towns in Plateau State, Nigeria. A social club will be formed with a monthly meeting and quarterly seminars for the elderly to gain knowledge on health care and physical wellness. Bi-weekly physical exercises will be conducted in the 17 towns where the tea outlet shop will be located. The overall goal is to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being, and sustainable consumption for all people. Bringing elderly and health challenged people together on a tea table will allow them to share values that will promote love, peace and prosperity. It will also ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all and thereby encourage responsible consumption for people of all ages. It will expand life expectancy of people as they will be aware of living healthy and consuming responsibly. No business survives without appraisal: routine checks on financial records and staff. Complaint and recommendation boxes will be made available at all the tea outlets to receive feedback from people; quarterly evaluation will be conducted to track progress of the business and the impact.

I am Nicodemus Samson Beska; I am 35 years old. I was borne to poor parents who were barely surviving on peasant farming. I am now living in a semi-urban center, but access to quality and affordable health care is still a major problem. People around such communities have little or no awareness on non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes etc; which are the silent killer diseases. As a youth development expert, a facilitator, trainer and an economist, my motivation is to use health products and services to bring smiles on the faces of people and increase their quality of life. The 2019 World Health Day focused on promoting more awareness of the causes and consequences of high blood pressure, as well as how it can be prevented, and to encourage national and local authorities to do more about this growing problem. And considering what Dr Shanthi Mendis, a medical officer at WHO says. We hope this campaign will encourage more adults to check their blood pressure but also that health authorities will make blood pressure measurement affordable for everyone. In many developing countries few people go for routine medical check-ups to monitor the risk factors associated with non-communicable diseases. And Nigeria is no exception. The main reason why I came up this idea is to bring health awareness to local communities and individuals with hypertension and diabetes, and provide them with the opportunity to get access to organic tea and fresh juice. I have nurtured this idea for about 3 years now trying to find better ways to improve my health and physical well-being when I was personally diagnosed with hypertension. I can now speak from experience on how this project can change peoples lives! Thank you very much for your consideration. I wait anxiously for your response.
