Coal, gas, oil surged greenhouse gases; solar panels caused land degradation; wind turbines, with the acute noise, caused memory and concentration problems; We need a different source that will protect the environment, while sustaining our living.Here comes Click Energy. Our new generation of keyboards will not only type but also generate energy. Our customers are those who care about the environment and are ready to take action for it.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
Energy is an integral part of our everyday lives and thus is in huge demand. Just as essential is the way we decide to obtain it. The side-effects of current often-used renewable energy practices are apparent: when solar panels become too hot, the living organisms touch panels and get injured; wind turbines take toll on birds, turbines spinning rotor blades collide with and kill 328,000 birds annually. By contrast, Click Energy is completely eco-friendly, as its construction did not require any harmful materials, nor is it predicted to have harmful effects of any kind on the animal life. The technology behind the energy-generating keyboards of Click Energy, despite creating a huge environmental impact, is surprisingly straightforward. The main element required to take advantage of the applied force our fingers apply to the keyboard is piezoelectric sensors. It is a device that measures change in the pressure and applied force and converts them into electrical charge. Each time laptop users start typing, the piezoelectric sensors placed under keyboard buttons store the energy with the help of capacitors in rechargeable batteries.The users can easily see the the approximate amount of time that energy on the battery will keep working from liquid-crystal displays (LCD) on the top-side of the keyboard.
