Improving small businesses owned by persons with disabilities during this Covid-19 pandemic period
Explain your idea in details:
Main objectives of my idea is to improve the welfare of persons with disabilities, to ensure the provision of quality education for children of persons with disabilities, and to reduce poverty through the improved business centers for persons with disabilities. the activities encompass giving small amounts of money to disabled persons who own small businesses to avoid the mishap of the breakdown in the business transactions for persons with disabilities which may greatly affect their welfare due to lack of national support at the individual level. Additionally, persons with disabilities will be taught about the entrepreneurship skills in order to manage their businesses well where the most successful ones will be given rewards in form of an extra amount of money to further expand their businesses, this means that persons with disabilities will be constantly monitored to see to it that money given to them is used for an intended purpose in light of their future development. in case of little resources, the persons with disabilities will be divided into the set of two where they will be required to share the interests at the end of the month as a way to empower one another in terms of skills sharing depending on their geographical locations. Those in the critical conditions of not being able to run business transactions on their own due to their worsening disability conditions, they will have people appointed for them to assist while all the business activities registered in their own names so as to ensure that none is left behind with intent to improve their welfare. The idea involves building business dilapidated shelters for persons with disabilities to ensure that business transactions are further done in a good and attractive environment as one of the key principles of business for potential buying.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
The impact of my idea, it will create a conducive living environment which will be supportive for persons with disabilities through improving their small businesses in turn reducing poverty and necessitate the provision of quality education for their children. Worth noting, persons with disabilities is a small category of people in most countries whose contribution towards national economic development is not normally accounted for, nevertheless, when disabled people are Independent, there is total reduced reliance on the nation's limited resources by persons with disabilities through the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services as they are able to produce on their own, as such through this idea, persons with disabilities will manifest their hidden entrepreneurship skills and develop the spirit of self-reliance and in the process contribute to the growth of the economy through buying and selling of their products in their small business centers with greater reduction in street begging. When hunger is reduced and persons with disabilities are able to take their children to school, when those children begin to work either in self-employment or as civil servants, they will contribute towards sustainable development through their services. The idea will use one-on-one evaluation technique where persons with disabilities will have their businesses examined by their cumulative profits at the end of each month, and further advice on how they can best diversify their businesses for stability.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
The idea is founded on a social systems model in improving the business activities for persons with disabilities which revolves around the owner-client relationship through products availability and improved business environment, the main financial sources are charitable donations from churches and other civil organizations. The idea incorporates churches, schools, civil organizations run by persons with disabilities with interest in stabilizing the lives of persons with disabilities through reduced stigma, poverty and educational inequalities. The idea also incorporates Think and Grow Rich Zambia organization which aims at improving the business minds of young people for sustainable future, this collaboration ensures that it gives the adequate support to persons with disabilities through moral and business education so as to improve their welfare by reducing poverty and improving the provision of quality education for their children. Persons with disabilities will have the continuous flow of money for their welfare even after the period of covid-19 pandemic and will have stable lives for their wellbeing amidst social challenges of stigmatization.

After completing my bachelor's degree, I started writing the organizational documents with intent to create employment opportunities for people and also help persons with disabilities to be socially and economically acceptable through entrepreneurship skills such as fish breeding and portry farming. in 2020, the organization was successfully registered with Zambia Agency for Persons with Disabilities and the organization was called Zambia Foundation for Disability Awareness Organization. In light of the global covid-19 pandemic, most of the small businesses owned by persons with disabilities have collapsed, hence igniting my idea that there is need to further improve the businesses run by persons with disabilities in order to eliminate hunger to zero while ensuring quality education for children of persons with disabilities.
