The Young Who Do University Challenge.
Explain your idea in details:
The main objective of the challenge is to enable young people to give voice to solutions to problems they themselves experience in the environment in which they live, such as schools, universities, communities etc. Themes such as design thinking and problem prioritization matrix are topics addressed during the challenge. Over the course of three weeks, young people will have the necessary knowledge to identify the causes of a proposed problem [usually linked to a recurring issue experienced by them], understand it and suggest implementation approaches [or even start implementing it themselves]. By sending checkpoints [initially thought in emails], participants will go through three weeks of study and ideation until they reach a possible solution approach. In the first week, young people will identify the problem, that is, what keeps the problem the way it is, in the second week, they will elaborate the "mirror question", which consists of a question that helps to solve the problem [ ex .: Problem: "Young people who leave the university without professional experience"; Mirror question: "How do you create a data network about job opportunities?"] and in the third, they will propose an approach to the solution. The main differential of the challenge is the fact that the people who will evaluate the ideas are people who experience the problem [through social networks] and others can help implement the solution. In addition, other agents, such as companies, can become partners, where they managed to have a faster experimentation environment for their problems. The main points of evaluation will be applicability, technology and creativity of the ideas. In this site you will be able to see more about the challenge: https://lucasdavi102.wixsite.com/inicio
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
The main measure of success of the idea will be the number of ideas that were conceived and actually put into practice. About goals, initially, a database of students participating in the program will be made and create a ranking based on them. For example, knowing that the people who most proposed solutions within the program were students from university A, we could create a ranking, initially regional, with the top universities that most solve and execute solutions to their problems, thus creating an environment healthy competition in which everyone might want to participate. In addition, it is expected that there will be awards for students who have performed better, where these awards may engage other students to participate.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
The implementation plan is aimed at students [think about university students first], through actions on social networks, as well as person-to-person advertising in key locations where students meet, such as classrooms, cafeterias, etc. The initial idea is that people can enroll for a single course and expand their reach to other courses and later to other regions. Regarding sustainability actions, the main source of funds will be through registration for participation in the program. It is worth mentioning that we think of a percentage of aid for those who cannot pay. In addition, the challenge can be very well applied to companies, where solutions would be solved through the problems presented by the company. In this case, these would be partners and could bear award costs, as an example. About employees, it is believed that at least two people are needed, one to take care of the materials sent and received, the other to be responsible for communicating the actions and processes throughout the challenge. However, having more people who can participate in evaluating ideas is very important [hopefully they will join as volunteers]. In summary, the main sources of funds will be through participation registration and through partnerships with companies.
Hello, my name is Lucas Davi. I am twenty-two years old, I am Brazilian and I live in the northeastern region of my country. I live in a city of about 30,000 habitants called "Areia Branca". In English, that name means "White Sand", which alludes to the beautiful beaches that we have here. I am in the last year of the administration course at the Federal Rural University of Semiárido, a federal institution located in the city of Mossoró, a neighboring city of Areia Branca. Every day I take the bus and go there to study and also go to my internship at the Public Ministry. Since I started college, I tried to participate in initiatives that could challenge me and contribute to my personal and professional development. Since then I have participated in numerous initiatives, I participated in the junior company, I was a scholarship holder, I participated in a research project, I did internships, I was a monitor, among other things. What motivated me to participate in Entrepreneurship Campus was something that happened to me earlier this year, when I went to a Summer Job in the city of Recife, which is about 600 kilometers away from home, that gaves me the chance to see new horizons and to understand that we can all reach our goals through a lot of discipline and with the help of some people along the way. Going back to house, I realized that my colleagues didn't even know what a Summer Job was, nor did they even know about other incredible opportunities outside the university. Taken by the desire to create a solution for this, decide to develop an idea in which students could actively participate with their ideas and be rewarded for it.
