Explain your idea in details:
Edupeah is an online portal for students and teachers to meet and share knowledge. The company ran an online School Management System at startup - for the checking of results and grade tracking of students. However, when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, students found it hard to continue learning. We bridged the gap betweeen Instructors and Students by providing an online Community where students can learn, generate transcripts, and take quizzes online - all for free but through a registered School. We created this website for schools for free because education is so dear to us. And just like Nelson Mandela's word: "there can be no true reflection of a society than how it treats his own children." We impacted the educational sector to create free learning curriculum for students. It promotes socio-cultural community by enhancing development in young minds.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
The projects hopes and aims to cut across all sector by meeting with telecommunication industries to run on free basics platform (0.freebasics.com) In Nigeria, the Facebook initiative offered educational and informative websites to run for free without data consumption. If this initiative can be admonished on such platforms, students wouldn't have to pay at all and they would learn at their convenience. The project has actively supported learners across different parastatals so we want to impact more. We hope to use this means to also engage students since students tend to be on their phones most times. We want to create a social means of enhancing education and learning experience - where learning seems fun and it is done with your smartphone. The communities and 21st Century skills would be promoted at its core. Our learning process takes an heuristic approach to solve problems. Providing knowledge for youths, children, parents or any student interested in learning. We respect education and that is why only accredited Institutions offer classes to students. The learning activities ranges from the regular english language and mathematics to skills acquisition provided by accredited personnels. Education delivery in Nigeria was at the core before the pandemic. During the pandemic, the educational industry dropped. We are creating a platform to sustain the students mind and make them actively inclined to information so that after the pandemic, they can still be fresh in knowledge when they get back to school and consecutively, they can join the online lectures anywhere they are. Plans for implementation and sustainability
The project started to be self-funded and family contributions since my Dad is also a School Principal and he knows the benefit of Education. However, our school Management System was delivered to schools free of cost but when students need scratchcard to check their results, we colllect a token of 200 naira per session for printing of this scratch card. The online learning platform was also delivered to schools free of cost amd schools deliver Instructions to their students free of cost. However, students pay to get their certificates and then the organization collects 5% fron each school for every certificate generated through the portal. That is how it has been funded. It is also cost effective and financially stable because our website hosting committe respects education and gave us the ability to host panels free of cost. We make use of this opportunity to deliver what is in our capability and help schools around. We are hoping to enlarge beyond Nigeria and create sustainable Education. (https://edupeah.com.ng)
The computers are flexible machines that always obeys anything we provide it to do. I was intrigued by how this machine responded to humans and decided to delve into the online world a bit. Programming the Sensors and micro-controllers was fun because I'm currently an Electrical Electronics Engineering Student. I had a fire knowledge of how codes and programming languages worked but I wasn't solving a problem. I decided to learn more about website design and I built Edupeah.com.ng to help students who need better and quality education. I learnt that the future is in our hands irrespective of: nationality, gender, or land barriers and I learnt from guru's around the world. Students and Teachers really appreciated my boldness and commitment and I'm happy at that too.
