Elders or anyone requiring special needs can be cared for 24 hours a day while maintaining their health without any hassle : their safety and health is constantly monitored by e-home care. They feel safer with the smart personal care plan which is the non-invasive and unobtrusive monitoring of vitals such blood pressure, blood sugar, heart rate, respiration rate etc. Smart alerts are send to care assistants and doctors, and if any vitals are not between the safe range, the system automatically sends an emergency response. The care plan is created to cater to specific needs of the patient (e.g. a patient with diabetes will have a personalised plan with regular blood sugar testing and insulin medication). The device will be connected to the hospital database. This will enable the patients specialised doctor to monitor their health in an efficient way. The purposes of the device include: Enabling preventative health: early detection of diseases or severe conditions (e.g.heart attack) ensures that the risk of long term damage caused by the disease is reduced significantly. Monitoring to ensure safety: constant monitoring of the patients vitals as well as ensuring correct medication schedule, customisable care plans reduces the risk of deteriorating health conditions and makes sure that the patient is healthy and fit. Easy in home health management: With customer friendly technology, the device seamlessly integrates into the patients life to enable them to take care of their health without any hassle (eg. reduce frequent visits to doctor and prevent missing medication). The device will also be easy to use and accompanied with a voice assistant . Doctors and family can virtually make checkups or health assessments by checking the patient's medication adherence to the care plan or health trends created by the app.

The E-Home Care system aims to achieve these impacts: SOCIAL : As a result of the usage of E-Home Care, the patients will not only connect with their doctors but can also manage their treatments and medication everyday without trouble ( added benefit). Constant monitoring of the patient's vitals and emergency automatic response reduces the risk of deteriorating health conditions. This will enhance the patients experience with the healthcare system and promotes peace as it improves the quality of treatment and care. It also ensures equality in treatment and attention given to any patient. TECHNOLOGICAL : E-Home Care monitoring system ensures safety of the patient all the time. The biggest advantage of the device is that the customer friendly technology used seamlessly integrates into the daily lives of the patient. It manages their treatments and medication without the trouble of frequent doctor visits or remembering a complicated medication schedule. The device sends automatic alerts for medication times and automatically restocks medicines when needed. INFRASTRUCTURE: E-Home Care relies on a digital database of medical information, care plans and doctor-patient checkups. This significantly reduces the load of paperwork and tracking patient health from the healthcare system. As all the care plans and treatment adherence of the patient are uploaded into the database, the hospitals can easily monitor the patients health trends. E-Home Care creates a virtual space where doctors can check their patients treatment: the device records the patients vitals as well as medication timing, diet, sleep etc. daily so that the doctor can see how the patient is performing and if their condition is getting better. Plans for implementation and sustainability
E-Home Care is a digital infrastructure which blends technology, medical professionals and patients to create a connected and interdependent space that can produce effective medical services to all its users. Using the help of UI/UX developers and programmers, I will create a prototype of the system. Once the prototype has been selected, the next 3 months will be dedicated to training the medical staff and healthcare providers on how to use and integrate the system effectively into their medical practice. It would be done by IT department specialists of the healthcare facility. The training will include how to track their patients' health using the health trends, medication adherence report and care plan created by the device. They learn how to access the medical database of their patients to check medical history that could aid in diagnosis. Doctors get specialised training on accessing the virtual Doctor-Patient space where they can have regular check-ups, monitoring their patients health, and viewing weekly reports of their patients performance. The doctors can create customisable care plans of their patients, and keep tracking their patients medication adherence. If the patient is experiencing a severe condition such a heart-attack, the monitoring system automatically sends an alert to the ambulance to come to the location using GPS. This gives medical staff time to make arrangements for the patients treatment. During implementation, medical facilities will create partnership deals with pharmaceutical companies to supply medications to the patients. The deals will allow greater funding for the system and its implementation in a larger international setting. Healthcare facilities will sign an agreement to use the database safely to prevent any leak of data. E-Home Care and its member healthcare facilities can collaborate with governments which provide better funding and resources and eventually lead to integrated national healthcare infrastructure for countries.
I am Isha Singh, a 15 year old passionate innovator who wishes to use her knowledge to create change in the world. When my grandmother was diagnosed with diabetes, I truly realised the importance of doctors and healthcare. My grandmother had to wait to get her insulin injection for 3 hours. Seeing her and many other elders in that room in so much pain, I was adamant to create an effective way which would ensure that everyone was taken care of and the doctors were not overburdened. In a world that is becoming increasingly data driven, my past experiences have taught me the importance of effective healthcare. I am driven to ensure everybody in the world can easily get the care and help they deserve. My motives to create this idea emanate from my desire to help others in need.Through my experiences, I have witnessed firsthand the power to heal the wounded and offer hope. To create an idea that could improve many lives gives me immense gratification and meaning. I was awarded the Young Innovator award at my school for my design of biodegradable sanitary pads for women. As an activist and environmentalist, I wish to harness my education to benefit marginalised groups in underdeveloped or developing countries. My skills of innovation, dedication and passion enable me to empower citizens to overcome their economic and social struggles. As a student who wishes to pursue biology and environmental studies in college, I often study the importance of sustainability.
