The solution I come up with to solve the traffic jam problem in Shanghai is to install a lifting system on each car. The system includes four wheel lifting devices to make the vehicle higher to pass through the vehicle, as well as a detection system to check the surrounding environment to ensure that the lifting process is safe. After designing, I need to consider several factors in order to make my design applicable in reality. Cost: the cost of the system is about 8000-50000 RMB(10007000 USD), and the price depends on the scaffold material and the sensitivity of the detection system. Most of the technology required for the system already exists (manipulator and bracket, as well as car reversing system), and the jacking system can be used with only a few modifications. Safety: the safety of the lifting scheme has been greatly guaranteed. The detection system applied to the vehicle can accurately calculate the distance between the vehicle and the surrounding environment, and adjust the wheel support to a safe height according to the detection and measurement results. Besides, when choosing the scaffold material, we need to make sure that the bracket is solid enough to withstand most collisions while maintaining balance. The only potential problem with this jacking system is that if too many cars are self elevating on the road, it will be difficult to manage and the driver's vision will be confused, which may lead to a crash and cause serious damage. Our solution to this problem is to limit the number of viaducts on each road. Signs can be set at the entrance and exit of the road to detect and record the number of viaducts entering / leaving the road so that the driver can see it before entering.

With the acceleration of urbanization and the improvement of people's economic level, more and more people own private cars. Until December 2019, Shanghai had 4.159 million private cars. Shanghai has a total population of 24.2814 million, and as China's largest immigrant city, Shanghai also has 39% of the immigrant population. There are 16 districts in Shanghai, covering a total area of 6340.5 square kilometers. One of the most commonly used means of transportation is fuel vehicles, which is also the main cause of traffic congestion. Traffic jams have brought great changes to the life of Shanghai residents, including the decline of quality of life and the decline of livability index of the city. Therefore, if a jacking system is installed on the car, it can effectively improve the traffic efficiency. On the one hand, some private cars can go up through the system in traffic jams, and then continue to drive above the ground. On the other hand, when these cars rise, they provide more space for the cars on the ground, thus accelerating the moving speed of the ground vehicles. Its principle is to use the lifting system to provide more space for the car, so as to improve the traffic efficiency. The improvement of traffic efficiency will ease traffic congestion, provide better urban life for residents, and make the city more livable. This advantage of the system is in line with SDG11. Plans for implementation and sustainability
Our business will experience a two-year planning cycle. In the first stage we will build a beta prototype and test it to our target customers, and this stage may last 5 months. The second stage is to the stage of product development, involving product R&D by using technical design and product validation data, creating design product for industrial level and manufacture, and this stage is expected to last 5 months. Afterwards, we will launch our product into the market and strive to acquire the market of Shanghai. Problems and complaints may be inevitable in this stage, so we will continue to improve our product by abstracting data and listening to customers feedback. When this product is improved enough to meet the expectation of customers, we will consider expanding market to other cities, like Beijing, Guangzhou. Our initial capital mainly comes from angle investors and personal funds. Apart from those investors, we will have some important partners, including steel suppliers, manufacturers, automobile suppliers, automobile 4s shop, Shanghai Urban Traffic Management Bureau, and so on. Our business model is to sell the jacking system both offline and online to customers. If customers buy our product online, we will provide videos to teach them how to install the system and customers have the option to ask us to install it. Most of our product will be sold offline. We will set shops near the petrol station or car shops to approach our target customers. Besides, we will cooperate with car shops and if they manage to recommend our products to customers, they can get commission. We will also provide post-product service. Customers can have our product checked every 6 months. Our technicians can carry out this inspection, and we will let more personnel receive training on the system and its maintenance.

Shanghai has been controlling the inflow of population in recent years. However, the number of population is still rising, and the space of Shanghai has not increased. This makes me realize that in order to solve the traffic jam effectively, we must increase the traffic area. There is no possibility of increasing the ground area, but we can increase the air area. How to make the car travel in the air? Put a wheel on it. This is the idea of my project. With the addition of wheels, the car can take advantage of the air area and also provide more space for cars on the ground. At the same time, for the sake of safety, we will install a detection system on the jacking system to detect the distance between the car and the surrounding area, so as to ensure that there is no hidden danger in the process of rising and driving.
