Promoting a healthy lifestyle naturally
Explain your idea in details:
The objective is to promote a healthy lifestyle naturally to ensure sustainable development goals (Good Health; Wellbeing and Decent work; Economic growth) while eliminating hunger and poverty. Our innovative technology eliminates the problems in poor production of locust beans in Africa due to the rudimentary processing with a significant reduction in intensive labor, time; without wood consumption thereby saving our environment. Locust bean has lower caloric value; higher dietary protein content; its consumption according to nutritionists helps promote sight, aids digestion, controls diabetes; cholesterol compared to the unhealthy imported seasoning as there has been advocacy against using them because of its harmfulness. With our indigenous technology, we are able to produce locust bean spice with less odor that can be preserved for more than a year and hence targeting those who prefer the solid/the powdery form, less marshy and dried with or without odor and free of stones. We ensure the provision of more revenue and reduction of the task involved for local women due to the laborious process of washing the seeds, boiling them for 24 hours with firewood, and washing them with bare legs and stones thereby ensuring a high standard of living. We will eliminate poverty on the path of the subsistence farmers involved in the locust bean production by helping them to remove unnecessary middlemen hence, generating more revenue for them. We are aware of the environmental part of our production and have been able to create all-round recycling of waste from our production
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
The impact targets of my idea on sustainable development goals are focused on goals 1,2,3 and 8 which is to ensure a low level of poverty, Zero Hunger, Good health and wellbeing, and also decent work and economic growth in our country by 2030. Imbalanced diet is a problem in the Nigeria of today and creating an avenue for the masses to access an affordable nutritious diet through a natural seasoning is our goal. Most cooks in Nigeria of today use seasoning to make their food tasty and we are a product of what we are consuming. We are also ensuring the provision of good revenue for local women plying the trade by removing the laborious work involved for them. With our solutions, we will abscond the subsistence farmers involved in production from poverty as most of them live below $1 a day because of unnecessary middlemen in the sales channel. Part of our traction involved the provision of jobs for youths at the beginning of our operation.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
The business model for the actualization of the project is an investment from investors. We already have the minimum viable product but need funding to scale. The populace is already aware that locust bean is a natural seasoning for food. Hence we will be able to penetrate the market easily. With our completely integrated innovative indigenous technology, We will be reaching our customers by selling what makes our product to be unique as we are able to produce locust bean spice with less odor that can be preserved for more than a year and hence targeting those who prefer the solid/the powdery form, less marchy and dry with or without odor and free of stones. We will also be employing the best persuasion business device which is the word of mouth marketing through testimonials as we have a network of sellers who are experienced in the business. Digital marketing and advertisement through media will also be employed. We will also partner with health parastatals to promote the sales of the product due to its health benefit.
