In order to develop an applicable and functional face recognition system, several factors need to be take in hand. - The overall pace from detection to recognition should be admissible. - The precision should be high. - The system should be regularly updated and expanded, that is to enlarge the number of subjects that can be recognized.

This project is aimed at creating a safer hospital process to both the patient and the hospital, while still offering a speedy service with the same results. Face recognition is very convenient when it comes to patients authentication, which can help hasten the the paying and presenting data process to insure the patients safety, while still preventing patient fraud.

The Holistic method The first successful demonstration of face recognition system was made by Turk and Pentland in 1991 using eigenfaces. The first stage is to embed a set of images into a database. The second stage is to create the eigenfaces. Eigenfaces are made by obtaining characteristic features from the faces. The input images are assigned to line up the eyes and mouths. They are then resized so that they have the equivalent size. The system is now ready to welcome entering queries.
