Explain your project in details:
This project has been divided into five chapters. First and foremost, is Chapter One of the study, thus the Introduction of the whole work; this comprises of the background, research objectives, significance of the research and the scope of the study. Moreover, Chapter Two of the study entails the Literature review; it makeup is what other scholars have written about the topic under discussion with emphases on lagoons. Again, Chapter Three of the study is all about the Methodology with which the research would be conducted and it highlights on approaches, designs, data collection and instruments. Additionally, Chapter Four focuses on data presentation and analysis. Finally, Chapter Five encompasses the research findings, conclusions and recommendation; the knowledge gap the researcher intends to fill. The main objective of this study is to assess the diminishing rate of lagoons in Ghana. The specific objectives are to; 1. Model the rate of diminishing of all lagoons in Ghana between the years 1970 and 2015. 2. Spatially assess the factors contributing to the diminishing rate of lagoons in Ghana. 3. Explore measures used by Coastal Zone Management Authority (CZMA) and Environmental Protection Agencies (EPA) on the management of lagoons in Ghana. Data collection and analysis were done using GIS: Satellite Imagery digitization of the lagoons was made from Google Earth Pro. The digitized polygons of the lagoons were exported as Google Earth pro file (KMZ) into ArcGIS Software, version 10.5. Furthermore, the Kmz file was converted into Shape-file which is much compatible and easily accessible in ArcGIS. Projections was made to transform the data into appropriate Projected Coordinate System. An elevation of less than 50m, Town layer, Population layer, Geology layer, Coastline layer, and Roads layer were clipped to the lagoon layer. Further, processing was made and analysis and interpretation were drawn.
Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
The enterprise has the first interest of disseminating sustainable education to the public as well as Environmental Protection Institutions. Addressing waste management issues with greater concern to exiting water bodies. These are some achievement 1. Model a senior secondary school campus for effective site refuse dump 2. Digitize lagoons in Ghana for spatial analysis The use of Geographic Information System (GIS) would be used to enhance the survival of natural features. Success of every project is accounted to the visions of the enterprise
Sustainability and future plans
Occluded EduHub seeks to coherently influence the younger generation to engage in clean environment, practice the best waste management precepts and enhance life in water. Some rivers, streams and lagoons have turned into gutters in Ghana. Occluded EduHUb intends to inform the public about the importance of these water bodies and reduce marine plastic waste. The future is fruitful with EduHub since our focus is on the young people in various schools. More research would be conducted to expose the status of rivers, lagoons and streams. Activities of my enterprise are personally funded from my little income.
