Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
With the rapid growth of industrialization and urbanization there has been immense deforestation and degradation of land resources which lead to pressure on agricultural land. If we give a quick glance at the other cosmetic products available in the market we see most of them have been derived from agricultural resources namely coconut, aloe Vera, Neem leaves, water melon and others which are also food resources. Other cosmetic products derived from direct inorganic chemical sources have proven to be dermatologically harmful for the skin in one or the other way. This facial cleanser brings about a unique feature which is that it would be proven to be the first cosmetic product to be extracted from microbial source like fungi. When fungi is a harmful agent and causal of many skin diseases in the eyes of the people it would astonish people that it can be proved useful for the skin too. This would attract a lot of people to buy the product and get a pleasant taste of organic microbe on their skin. Moreover the aim of sustainability is to ensure proper use of available resources and its maximum utilization for the assurance of safe bio environment and eco friendly components. This product would thereby require less destruction of land but.require an expensive laboratory for fungal culture and component extraction. Thus there is a less pressure on agricultural land and food resource. Thus establishment of this industry would require a less surface area and less pressure on farmers for saving agricultural resources for cosmetic purpose.
Sustainability and future plans
Marketing_ The marketing of this product would require a local as well as national brand ambassador for branding the product and being a representative for advertising its sales. This can be any known popular celebrity or television actor or actress. Expenses and Investment sector_ Since the organic source requires less land area it would involve less investment in this sector. Most of the capital investment would go for the establishment of a microbiological laboratory and machineries for compound extraction. Also care should be given to invest employ large scale biotechnologists and microbiologists along with chemists for the industrial production of the cleanser. Employment opportunities This industry would provide job.field for.a.lot of biotechnologists and microbiologists . Also chemists from different sectors to manipulate the engineering of the product. This would solve unemployment problem of biological and chemical engineers to a considerable extent. Consumer satisfaction The product is sincerely devoted to meet the needs of the growing generation for oxidative problems of the skin and other dermatological issues such as aging, pimples, rashes, sunburns Tec. This is a major issue faced by the people of all ages and classes. Our product would attract all ages of people both male and female aged 13-60. It is dermatologically harmless for all skin types including oily, sensitive and combination types. Competition_ Some of the leading facial cleanser providing companies are Loreal, Elvive, Dove, ever youth, Himalaya etc . None of these companies provide any product derived from microbiological source. This product aims at competing with the above mentioned companies due to its unique organic source and skin soothing properties. Cost price_ After meeting all the costs of Chemicals reagents and accessories along with lab equipments and expenses of the technicians and expertees in the respective fields concerned our product would hold a cost price of each product with Bangladesh Taka 300-350 per bottle.
Your profile as an entrepreneur
Assalamualaikum. I am a current student of the Department of Genetic engineering and biotechnology under the University of Chittagong. I have dreamt of engineering a product suitable as a facial cleanser from a unique source that would attract and surprise people. I targeted fungus in this genre being a student of biotechnology and focussed at its anti oxidative properties and took the advantage of studying microbiologist. If fungus can be used for medicinal purpose why not for skincare and I bet no other biotechnologists and entrepreneurs thought this way. I would take the pride , privilege and honour to launch the world's first ever skin care product and cosmetic derived from fungal source. I dream of establishing this vital industry in Bangladesh and also catching the eyes and drawing the attention of the world leading toiletries brands.
