Explain your idea in details:
In this project, I plan to access girls from marginalized communities through schools, friends and the local leaders. This ensures that the right girls from the right places and with the target ages are identified. gatherings shall be done in community centers, schools, churches etc. so as to ensure observation of the standard operations procedure. this idea aims at instilling confidence, acceptance of the situation and action to mitigate the problem to the young girls through sharing stories, acting skit(drama), songs, collective problem solving, and sensitizing the community by the learners. girls best find comfort in sharing their problems amongst themselves whish spearheads formation of girls' support group which provides a basis of collective problem solving, assistance through providing materials used to make reusable sanitary pads, collective sales of reusable sanitary pad, skilling, sensitization and awareness of the community members
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
This project targets to reduce school drop outs, reduced stigmatization, reduce early/teen pregnancies, make accessible menstrual health hygiene, encourage inclusion and so on. measures to evaluate success can be carried out through; post and pre evaluation surveys, analyzing achievements, views of stake holders etc.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
this project will be done using a team of volunteers, well wishers and the community itself. it will be carried out in marginalized community schools, churches, community halls. Funding and financing will be done through friends, relatives and well-wishers.
I am a 23 year old female Ugandan university student, volunteering with Vase of Transformation; a non profit initiative aimed at empowering youth to cascade change in their communities. I am passionate and committed to giving back to the community using the knowledge, skills and experience gathered over the course of life so far, has strong values built around helping others as well as acts of generosity and kindness. extremely trustworthy, well-organized, self-motivated and with excellent attention to detail. a great team member who can withstand the test of time, polite, respectful land happy to take instructions as well as work under own initiative. 2012-2015 awarded Uganda certificate of education from St Mary's Kitende SS, 2016-2017 awarded advanced certificate of education from Our Lady of Africa SS Namilyango, and pursing a bachelors degree in procurement and logistics management at Kyambogo university.
