Explain your idea in details:
Mahlux Gold Agro is an agricultural business initiative that seeks to alleviate food poverty in Nigeria and Africa at large; and in so doing, provide jobs for the populace. We are looking at poultry (broiler) production solely for the purpose of meat production. We are putting in a strategy that will put us over the edge and at an advantage. This is to reduce unnecessary wastage and economic loss. Once the birds are matured and ready for consumption, we slaughter them from the farm at a section known as the slaughter slab, then take them to the blasting section, blast the chicken and then to the cold room where they will be kept and preserved while our customers come for pick up. The cold room will be positioned in a place that will be easily accessible to our potential customers. We look forward to contacting hotels, restaurants, eateries other businesses, retailers and organisations that will be needing our services. With time we will venture into livestock production as well; such as cattle, goats, sheep's etc. solely for the purpose of meat production. And same procedures as above will be observed once they are matured and have attained a desired weight. Our major challenge is setting up a cold room that is of standard and that will meet up with our aim. Also a refrigerator truck or chiller lorry and a blasting machine as well as a good electrical generator. We have chosen Our business and head office Location to be Kaduna state in Nigeria. This is because Kaduna state is located at almost the middle belt of Nigeria and it has good geographical and climatic condition that will favour our business. In addition; from Kaduna state, we can easily access the whole states in Nigeria.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
Mahlux Gold Agro is an agricultural business initiative that seeks to alleviate food poverty in Nigeria and Africa at large; and in so doing, provide jobs for the populace. We believe that all other sustainable development goals can be achieved only if we are able to tackle hunger by providing the weapon for destroying it which is food. People cannot achieve anything if they are hungry. Our goal is to help sort out hunger, alleviate poverty by providing jobs. Ensuring that our meat which is serving as protein source is properly processed thereby ensuring good health and well being of the people. We look forward to providing a good source of water for the closest community to where our farm will be located. Our outlined strategies in the farm used in carrying out all activities and events in the farm will help teach the workers that there are smatter ways of doing things thereby teaching them the dictates of decency in work and the achieving of economic growth. We are providing job for who ever is qualified. We are not gender sensitive. This is because we want to give equal opportunities to everyone regardless of your gender. I belief this will go a long way. If we are able to meet up with our targets as well as objectives to a level above 70%, then I will say we have been successful. But hitting that success target, does not mean we are stopping, We will continue to strive for the best results continuously.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
Our business and head office Location is Kaduna state in Nigeria. This is because Kaduna state is located at almost the middle belt of Nigeria and it has good geographical and climatic condition that will favour our business. In addition; from Kaduna state, we can easily access the whole states in Nigeria. Once we secure a good location for the farm, we will build the farm house, secure the necessary equipments to run the farm, then we will start employing little by little while we are also very involved ; In both the manual labour and innovative thinking. We are already in talks with a Veterinarian who is a specialist in poultry production. Our major source of income is from our pockets. We are not stopping at only poultry production, with time, we are also looking at livestock production also for meat. They are cattle, sheep and goats etc. We intend to widen our horizon and look into the production of food crops and cash crops. We will make a network with companies that will be needing our farm produce for further processing. If we cannot meet up with the companies demands, we intend to make a network with local farmers where we register them and buy their farm produce at good price and then in return sell to these companies. Our target customers include hotels, restaurants, eateries other businesses, retailers and organisations, boarding schools, hospitals caterers, local restaurants, the government etc. For expansivity and progress, We will keep sending our staffs for courses, as well as keep doing researches and always welcome innovative ideas that will help Better our production outputs and sales continuously.
I am 22 years old, born in January 17 1999 and from a family of 5. I have a brother and a sister. I am a final year student in banking and finance from Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria, Kaduna state. I am from an average income family. My mom use to be a cleaner in the bank for several years with nothing to Write home about. My dad a security man in an establishment and yet we were still struggling. Until my mom decided to quit her job and go into buying and selling of food stuff. And then there was a turn around for my family. This made me realize that it is always better to be a solution provider by providing the job for others. Hence, running my own business. In my secondary school I was chosen to be the class representative because I was always diligent in what ever task that was given. I had this passion to always be the top and so the will and drive to excel was eminent inside of me. In my "A" level, I held the position of financial secretary in my fellowship, and I faithfully executed my office with no faults. My drive and passion for excellence, is my motivation for venturing into poultry production. Looking into the market and after my survey and discoveries, I found faults such as farmers getting frustrated because customers have not come to buy their birds, and they are busy wasting money feeding the birds, I said to myself, I can make a difference with my innovative ideas and strategies, as well as my marketing skills learnt in school.
