Explain your idea in details:
Arjun sat down on his chair and looked up at his brother, Aryan who had a sharp glint in his eye. He handed Arjun a slightly crumpled piece of paper and an Apsara pencil, his hands trembling with excitement. Aryan said, Arjun, write down something about yourself. Take your time. Arjun was bewildered. A minute later, he handed the sheet back to Aryan. Aryan's eyes scanned the paper. My name is Arjun and I am 13 years old. I go to Laxman Public School. I play football. I like playing Minecraft. Aryan grinned, and Arjun pondered over what he had written about himself. There was no mention of his characteristics, his personality traits, his thought process. Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
Optiverse' works with students as they are inevitably responsible for the future of this world. We find it imperative to work with these sharp minds if sustainable solutions are to be achieved, which can happen only if they know themselves well enough. Increasing self-awareness of an individual and building personalities by identification of one's strengths and skills are two pivotal areas of our mentorship course. The aforementioned dual objectives help students in gaining clarity about their thought processes and help them in recognizing their unique strengths and abilities. Our course mainly focuses on the 4th sustainable development goal; quality education. It entails equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities. We work to build such personalities of individuals who are globally aware, responsible citizens, working towards finding sustainable solutions rather than spending their time on the problems. In December 2020, I understood the true meaning of the African Proverb, "If you want to go fast, go alone but if you want to go far, then go with a team". With this realization, I started expanding my Core Team. Today, this team works diligently towards building the foundation of my dream initiative. We appoint country and state ambassadors under our Core team, these ambassadors further appoint mentors in their teams and then the mentorship tasks of the team commence. Optiverse's strength lies in this ever-expanding branching system which welcomes fresh ideas and provides mentorship opportunities to like-minded students. Till May 2021, Optiverse had completed 650+ hours of mentoring in 10 countries and 10 states of India. We hope to achieve 2000+ hours by the end of 2021 and to reach 20 countries and 15 states of India. We believe that the world cannot change until we change ourselves first, and work towards leaving this legacy behind.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
Optiverse, being a course completely free of cost and aiming for a better future for students is constantly pacing towards sustainability. Personality development is long-lasting and ensures an inculcation of self-reflection and awareness from an early age. This leads to further propagation of an optimistic aura of a well-developed personality among peers and kinfolk. Such passing down of exceptional qualities by self-aware individuals ushers a sustainable future for the next generation. The entirety of our course is based on the UNs goal for sustainable development; quality education which is deeply rooted in the foundations of Optiverse. We form the peculiar junction for written, oratorical, analytical, and personal development skills for students, and combine these life skills in a singular course. Our system of branching out and networking aids in reaching numerous ambitious students. We have engaged in geographical expansion to reach myriads of students from all over the globe and make Optiverse an international platform. 50+ mentors are working with us, who are all expressive and vivid on their thoughts and beliefs, which makes it possible for them to foster this in their mentees as well. Collaborating with NPOs and NGOs has helped us in getting in touch with students from multifarious economic and social backgrounds. Through this strategy of ethical expansion and outreach, we move towards reducing the gap between the rich and the poor. Such a model is an indirect step towards sustainability, especially in developing nations. Our paramount goal is to make an essential yet much-ignored aspect of education; personality development and self-awareness, accessible. We are also planning to form a well-rooted setup by hiring interns and forming a broader team with fresher perspectives. Achieving all of these, while sticking to our core of 'discovering yourself', and disseminating this discovery to multitudes of students.
Every morning, I am keen on meeting the person standing in front of the mirror, bursting with enthusiasm to take up the day's challenge. He aims to rise above all meaningless notions to eventually contribute all his might to the betterment of humankind. That person has goals and not nemeses to tackle, fighting the cause and not creating a rebel, facing the unknown and not degrading the known. This person enjoys unfolding every moment he lives, embracing equally the highs and lows thrown at him. He values every day's learning with the same level of zest.
