CONTRIBUTION OF DIGITAL TO THE SERVICE OF EDUCATION IN A CONTEXT OF COVID 19 and SECURITY CRISES
Published on May 20, 2021 um 18:15
Explain your idea in details:
The COVID-19 pandemic has delivered an unprecedented shock to education systems in history, disrupting the lives of nearly 12 million schoolchildren and students in Cameroon. The closure of schools and other places of learning, the introduction of half-time thereafter, the ban on vacation courses and study groups have affected the entire Cameroonian territory. Apart from this health crisis, Cameroon is also experiencing certain areas prone to security crises such as the north, north-west and south-west where there have been many displaced populations and sometimes the total closure of schools. Many children in Cameroon have not set foot in a classroom for three years. Due to education bans by non-state armed groups and attacks, more than 80 percent of schools have been closed in northwest and southwest Cameroon, affecting more than 600,000 children, says the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), So, assist and help learners in their training and / or school studies during periods of school break at home due to confinement, part-time, holidays or even during their revisions quite simply every evening in the context of COVID 19 by an efficient and remote technological tool is our objective. To achieve this goal, we created a digital solutions company and as a first solution, we designed and implemented a multifunctional digital platform of reviews, automatic self-assessment, real-time exchange and sharing of contextualized educational resources and remotely, in order to maintain the motivations and a source of emulation for some, and to increase the academic and professional potentialities for the others in their respective training.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
Our solution also aims to create and maintain a permanent and interactive relationship between all learners and our network of certified teachers, but also the sharing of educational audiovisual resources (3D images and videos with an experimental aspect) intended for students. This will be synchronously or asynchronously in order to effectively help and assist learners during the moments they spend alone in their training. Our impact is therefore as follows: For the social impact, we have: 1- Social and pedagogical reintegration of learners 2- Reducing the failure and dropout rate 3- Raising the level of skills acquisition among learners 4- Access to a national educational community of mutual aid and sharing 5- Reinforcement of learners' working methods and tools 6- More equitable and inclusive education for all 7- The popularization of access to digital and educational use. For the environmental impact, we have: 1- Reducing the amount of paper used during home studies 2- Online storage and archiving space for the educational resource specific to each classroom (no need for printing and photocopying) To achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we have: SDG 4: quality, equitable and inclusive education remains one of the world's priorities and the foundation for improving people's lives and sustainable development.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
The smartphone and the tablet, a unique opportunity for the remote education and training of young people: According to the results of an internet survey, it appears that young people widely use their smartphones to study, revise or do their homework and therefore an opportunity to be seized for our solution. Market of national scope: The entire educational community of Cameroon, those regularly enrolled in our high schools and colleges, but also those preparing for an exam, a competition or even internally displaced persons and whatever the region are our potential customers. So the segment of this market that is ours is that of learners with or without enrollment in a school, with internet coverage and capable of having a smartphone, tablet, or even a computer. Regarding the promotion component, our teams will be deployed on a regular basis for advertising and demo campaigns with a video projector in high schools and colleges in Cameroon, not to mention the media (TV, radio, press) and digital marketing through social networks. The application will then be downloadable for free on Playstore and Applestore, the payment will be applied approximately six months after the launch of the product and will then be available from 2000 Fcfa only and each subscription will have access to all the materials of a virtual classroom and all the features of the application for a validity of 30 Days. My collaborators are currently of two types, those who manage the technical component with at its head three design engineers in computer science and telecommunications, and those of the educational component with at its head a teacher from the University of Yaoundé 1 assisted by certified professors from high school.

There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve >> The fear of failure. So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable. https://www.entrepreneurship-campus.org/ideas/32/21472/
Hi, Ruben! Greetings from the Philippines! Your idea is amazing and very relevant to what we are going through right now. This is the only idea I have encountered so far that deals with the effects of the pandemic. More power to this! I am with you in the belief that by utilizing technology wisely we can maximize its advantages in facing the challenges created by the crisis we find ourselves in. All the best, buddy.
On another note, I hope that you can spare some time to read my idea ANI -- https://www.entrepreneurship-campus.org/ideas/30/21366/. Feel free to leave comments.
Thank you! Keep safe!
Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world. Success is not final, failure is not fatal, It is the courage to continue that counts.
Your idea is very smart and practical.

Great idea Ruben Bateki. However, considering the limitations of African settings (especially rural ones), I suggest to add how this solution can help poor students in rural setting to access both the tablets/smartphones (maybe promote community centers equipped with such facilities) and internet. All Africa in indeed in need to re-invent itself in terms of digital learning. Wish you success.
