'UFUNDI MALL'-CRAFTMANSHIP SKILLS SERVICE PROVISION MALL
Published on June 8, 2021 um 19:08
Explain your idea in details:
Tanzania has never established a common platform for all of its vocational skills personnel to have a single-stop working center whereby all citizens will be catered all their vocational (and repair) needs and demands at a single multi-purpose center. Just as Shopping Malls cater the needs and demands of shopping for citizens by making them able meet their shopping demands at one multi-purpose shopping center, why not with repair issues? This idea comes at the right time to meet the right demands that has been a desire for many Tanzanians. It will be established in collaboration with VETA and all necessary stakeholders by making sure the services(s) offered through all courses at VETA and other vocational training centers are available in form of jobs at this center i.e auto mechanics, electrical, hospitality, agro mechanics, embroidery, plumbering, carpentry, and all other skills available in vocational training centers around the world depending on market demands. Its objectives include; To be the first project and leading vocational based center to have ever happened in Tanzania and Africa at large, to align with the Ministry concerned with Youth and Employment in meeting demands of employment for the youth and lower the unemployment rates in Tanzania, to increase the value of vocational Training in Tanzania, to ensure that vocational skills are given the most respect and priority needed, living Standards improved through youth employment, to raise national income, to simplify life for the citizens through all repair and vocational services being offered at a single center, As majority of Tanzanians cannot afford university education, more citizens will get opportunity to acquire skills that can also earn them employment just as University graduates earn employment and to foster industrialization.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
The Ufundi Mall idea focuses on solving around five(5) Sustainable Development Goals i.e. SDG Goal No. 1 by ending poverty, SDG No. 4 by providing youth with a platform to practice their attained skills from vocational colleges while generating income, SDG No. 8 by providing decent work and economic growth since currently the vocational skills graduates arent given high consideration as required, SDG No. 9 by fostering innovation and industrial development and SDG No. 10 by reducing income inequalities within Tanzania through decent work. Success of my idea if implemented will be based upon the quality of service provision i.e customer satisfaction since the idea is more focused on service provision.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
The idea itself is sustainable since each year there are many graduates from Vocational schools that are jobless and mostly lack capital to start their own workshops. Thus its my belief that the mall won't lack skilled personnel likewise citizens who are in need of the services that are always available.
