Explain your idea in details:
The main objectives is help people in my axis of Lagos, Nigeria where I live consume fresh and healthy poultry chicken and turkey meat consistently instead of the imported frozen chicken and turkey which are dangerous to their health due the formalin and other chemicals used to preserved them - these chemicals are cancerous. All these will be achieved through the activities of having live chicken and turkey birds are received from our suppliers weekly by the Bird Preparation Unit (BPU) where their details are recorded. BPU prepares and package the birds, have them lightly frozen; record details of the stocks; and have them delivered to our sales outlets or Kiosks where all sales are to be recorded and accounted for by the sales person manning them. The BPU is communicated when each kiosk is out of stock so that new birds are prepared and delivered to them on time by our partner dispatch riders; and also attend to orders of eateries and event planners. The innovative approaches include that we will be taking orders from online customers through our website and hotlines; and the sales outlet kiosks where our products will be sold will be designed and fabricated by me and my technical team using polyutherane sandwich panels to construct a portable and mobile cabin which will also help cool the products before sale. Our objectives also include helping people eat healthy fresh and frozen poultry foods as we expand the business to other parts of Lagos and Nigeria; and to aid their responsible consumption since our production process is a responsible and sustainable one which is done in a neat environment.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
The idea is targeted at ensuring we redefine this part of the poultry meat preparation and processing industry in Nigeria through responsible production which will contribute to the good health and wellbeing of our customers. The idea will help close encourage people to shun the consumption of imported chicken and turkey which is not good for their health due to the chemical used in preserving them which are cancerous; and therefore help chicken and turkey lovers in Lagos and other parts of Nigeria as we expand have access to well prepared and packaged poultry meat which will ensure they eat healthy to have good health and wellbeing. Our success on this will only be evaluated based on how our products are able to contribute to the good health of our customers. Our success will also be measured by how much outlets we have in 5years - we plan to grow and expand the business such that it has over 75 outlets in Lagos, Nigeria and its Neighboring states, create over 250 direct and indirect jobs and also generate a yearly gross profit of over 300million Naira after its first first years in business. This will position the business to implement its corporate social responsibility plans.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
Our business model is one which is aimed at getting supply of live poultry birds (chicken and turkey) from our local suppliers, slaughter, prepare, package and lightly froze them at our bird preparation unit, move them down to our branded kiosks sales outlets where they will be sold (we will be starting with two sales outlets and a BPU). We have our target market or customers to be lovers of fresh from farm chicken and turkey; eateries, and event planners. The business will be making profit from its Cost-plus pricing strategy which considers a profit added to the production cost such that the pricing is competitive with that of other industry players; while we maintain a brand which is consistent in its product quality to ensure we retain customers and get referrals; and also expand by having more sales outlets (over 75 outlets is targeted in 5years) and this can help the business generate over 300million Naira in yearly gross profit after 5years. The plan is to source the start-up capital for personal and business savings, and investors while we grow and expand the business through business profits and investors such as angel investors. The business will be run by me and will have key investors on its board of directors.
I am Adeleke Ige Tawheed, a 35years old materials science and engineering graduate with passion to practice in the construction industry and also passion to run my personal business while also diversifying into poultry and agro-allied business. This led me to taking up my first job in the construction industry and after 5 years of working with the firm (ABRAS Steel), I decided to be on my own as a start-up enterprise and business owner. This led to Tech-Forte Integrated Services which is a technical service enterprise with expertise in steel and aluminum design, fabrication and installation and we have the design and fabrication of polyutherane panel made porta-cabin which is our product. The need to diversify into poultry and agro-allied business especially in the poultry meat preparation for Fresh From Farm Poultry Meats products has led us to almost concluding plans on the project and this arm of our business and we are hoping to secure investors or partners soon. I see myself as a goal getter and I don't relent until I achieve my personal and career/business goals.
