Incubator for women in agro-pastoral sector
Published on July 6, 2021 um 17:33
Explain your idea in details:
Incubator Project for women in the agro-pastoral sector Justification: With multiple crisis plaguing Cameroon at the time ; in the Far North, East, North West and South West regions, thousands of young women have been separated from their families and most often deprived from education. Left to themselves, they are forced to move to major aglomerations where they live in accute insecurity and dissipation. In a bid to restore their self-confidence, lead them to a promissing path, and empower them, we conceived an agro-pastoral incubator project. This choice was motivated by the fact that it constitutes one of the most promissing sectors, full of opportunities since the production of agro-pastoral products is a never ending process. General objective: Empower Cameroonian women in the agribusiness through training, support and follow up via an institution suited to their needs. Activities: Training in agro-pastoral activities (agriculture, breeding, processing) Practical experimentation on the field ensure proper assimilation Training in the creation of value-added activities (choice of idea, marketing plan, business plan, green entrepreneurship) Support and follow-up in setting up the activities of the trainees. Innovative approaches: Technical and practical training (Learning by doing) Use of the SIYB approach (Start and improve your business by the ILO) Individual support for each of the women trained in the implementation of their activity and in the search for funding. Sharing of experiences. Three (03) months individual follow-up subsequent to the training.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
In order to reduce poverty in Cameroon but even more reduce the level of debauchery of young women, the incubator at the place of women wishes from its creation to have each year: At least one hundred and twenty women trained per year (sixty women every six months) At least two hundred forty jobs created Green entrepreneurship is integrated into all projects of trained women The eighty percent of women trained have implemented their activities and are financially independent and impact society through their actions. All this while preserving the environment: The approach used in the incubator includes a green entrepreneurship component. The trained women will be encouraged to green their idea by learning by example. They will learn the 3 Rs (reduce, recycle and reuse) in agriculture as well as in breeding and processing. On the site, crop and livestock waste will be transformed into compost to be reused as fertilizer. Plantain leaves will be turned into biodegradable packaging to name just a few. This in order to protect the environment, reduce pollution while highlighting the economic gain that they can have by promoting the green side. Empowered woman = Creation of wealth = creation of jobs = reduction of unemployment therefore contribution to youth employment.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
To start this activity, we are counting on calls for projects or state subsidies for the major part of the investment. Following this, a selection process respecting strict criteria will be launched to ensure the quality of the women trained and to be reassured that they are really the right target. The women, to reassure us of their level of motivation, will pay a goddamn sum to the incubator as costs for participant kits and for textbooks. The main activities will be technical training, training in operations management, support and monitoring for the implementation and the search for funding. Our main target are low-income women and young women from at-risk areas. Our key partners the ILO because their methodology will be used, ANDAL an association that works in the strengthening of entrepreneurial capacities and technical training centers from which our various experts will come. The activities launched, the income from the management of the incubator will come from the activities of the experimentation spaces (agriculture, breeding and processing and recycling) the products coming out of there will be sold to be able to manage the expenses (holding of trainings, payment of employees and other internal charges). The incubator will have permanent and working employees.
