Explain your idea in details:
The objective of ART DIRECTION FOR FILM, TELEVISION AND EVENT program is to provide empowerment opportunities for talented Nigerian youth and fresh graduates where they can gain practical- based knowledge and insights into the exciting world of media, broadcasting and entertainment. This project which will be carried out quarterly (i.e. four times in a year) is specifically designed to empower 1000 Nigerian youth in Ifako Ijaiye LCDA, Lagos (between the ages of 17-35), who are passionate about making a career in the field of Art, media and entertainment. The Program will provide an enriching experience characterized by measurable on-the-job internship in their chosen areas of interest which include: Production Designing & Art Direction for film & television, Set Designing & Decoration, Still & Motion Graphics Designing, and Event Creative & Experiential Marketing. Our goal is to see talented Nigerian youth (male and female) acquire on-demand skills that can help empower them adequately to have a sustainable source of livelihood using the creative art as a vehicle to actualize their career aspirations. We also want to stimulate their keen interest in Art Direction which is in high demand but can boast of only a few professionals in the country. We will be gender sensitive in our selection processes such that both genders will be equally represented among the facilitators and the participants (i.e. 50% male & 50% female). Our activities include: 1) Publicity and awareness for the program. 2) Registration for the prospective trainees. 3) Interview the selected trainees. 4) Offer admission to the selected 250 trainees. 5) Commence practical-based training for the first in-take (January to March). 6) Assessment and Issuance of Certificate. 7) Giveback: We'll give out ten (10) laptops to outstanding participants and 3-month paid internship opportunity for twenty five (25) outstanding trainees in each quarter.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
This project will adopt the "Graduation Model" which allows us to, empower and develop young creative who have chosen a career path in the Nigerian creative and entertainment industry by providing career development trainings and mentorship to emerging media talents, and provide them the opportunity for future growth into internships and community programs. Upon graduating, our top twenty (25) trainees in each quarter will be assigned to undertake 3- month paid internship program with seasoned and experienced industry leaders and professionals. During this paid internship program, interns would be exposed to the modus operandi of the Television Production, filmmaking and event planning world to provide real work experience. Interns will be paired up with Unit heads into the categories of their choice to set them up for success and provide them with insights needed to thrive in their craft. This will boost their chance of getting employed by our participating internship companies & partners. We aspire to build a long-term relationship between participating companies and the interns for potential full-time employment in the future.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
Our Implementation plans include: - Publicity and awareness for the program. - Registration for the prospective trainees. - Interview the selected trainees. - Offer admission to the selected 250 trainees. - Commence practical-based training for the first in-take (January to March). - Assessment and Issuance of Certificate. - Giveback: Well give out ten (10) laptops to outstanding participants and 3-month paid internship opportunity for twenty five (25) outstanding trainees in each quarter. SUSTAINABILITY PLANS One of the most effective ways to reduce poverty, unemployment, high rate of corruption and cybercrime in Nigeria is by empowering the youth via creative art which could serve as a sustainable source of livelihood without any form of gender discrimination. We will be adopting the 4 components of BRAC Organization's "Graduation Model". This will enable us to run the project with processes such as: Skills Training: Managing the Asset Coaching: Life skills, Accountability & Encouragement Saving's Promotion: Access to saving account's Safety nets: Cash & Equipment Support. We have chosen to adopt the BRAC Business Model because it has been proven effective; it has constantly tested, measured and modified its solutions in order to maximize its effectiveness in reducing poverty drastically from the very beginning. Its microfinance program targets the poorest of the poor and adapts for the varied local contexts in which BRAC works. We plan to get our financing from donors, grants, NGOs and organizations that support youth empowerment via creative art and entertainment. Project Collaborators: Executive Donors & indigenous Creative Academies Project Managers: The Art direction for film, television & event (ADFFTE) Team will oversee the various execution stages of program. What's the point of being alive if you don't at least try to do something great? You only live once, if you live it right, once is enough.

Your idea is great.
There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: The Fear of Failure.
There are two types of people who will tell you that you cannot make a difference in this world: those who are afraid to try and those who are afraid you will succeed.
Your idea is cool and practical!

One great important feature of this idea is that, it's practically oriented couple with life dream fulfilment for most youths...A lucrative form of empowerment to the Youths, knowing fully well that the youths enjoy and thrive best in entertainment industry . This is a very good concept, building on the interest of the Youths to give them a sense of fulfilment in what most youths dream to achieve one day.
