Explain your idea in details:
We wish to promote financial awareness amongst youth in developing countries that is often lacking in the education system. Through this, we directly and indirectly wish to contribute to the attainment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 4 (quality education) and 8 (decent work and economic growth). We do this by conducting classes online on topics which educate people financially and wish to promote entrepreneurship.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
Our target is the youth in developing countries, aged from 15 to 23. We believe that this is a crucial age, and is a necessity to educate them before they graduate from high school to college as they will be taking the duty of managing finances at different levels. If students are able to get the basics right with understanding where their money is going and if they can track their money, it's a successful class for us.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
We take classes online and we partner with existing teaching platforms, NGO's, projects and government schools primarily to get our audience. We tailor our curriculum with regard to the age of the audience, the community they come from and their country of residence. We introduce important concepts like microfinance, microcredit and entrepreneurship to the marginalized and underprivileged communities. This helps with getting them out of debt traps and have a better socio-economic wellbeing.
I am 19 years old. I'm not even supposed to be here, if I listened to what people had to say in my high school senior year, then I wouldn't be here. A lot of people thought I would be a high school dropout. A lot of people told me that I should stick to a certain state of mind and never follow my ideas. Why am I here, I didn't listen to the negativity. I motivated myself towards the positivity and used my creativity, purity and honesty in building a better world. My motivation is to bring a future class, one which we do not have in mainstream education. We have a history class but not a future class. I am a qualified and certified sustainability leader by United People Global. I can confidently say that I am Tarun Masapeta at age 19, I wish to see a world where every kid and adult can say that they are themselves throughout there lives. This is my motivation.
